Chapter-38: Stop them.
James was laying on his bed, both the eyes were closed and there is little bit of time left when he will be going to open his eyes. GK was sitting outside his room and Summer was feeling sleepy. Many times, her head fell down but she woke up quickly. When he saw her like this, he went in front of her and she quickly stood up from her seat.
"Sir!!"
… "Go home."
He wanted to send her back to her home but she did not want to go back. He knew that she cared about him but then also he wanted to send her home.
The morning had already knocked at the door and Summer took two glasses of morning tea for her and for GK. He took that tea in his hand; it was hot but GK was lost somewhere. In a soft voice, Summer told him that the tea is hot and he should check his hand. GK heard everything but kept holding that tea in his hand.
"Summer!! Ember is the only reason for his smile and now that reason is away from him. I will not leave those people. We have to find who they are."
While talking, all his officers cane there and stand in front of him. Ben was looking at them and he was standing behind the door, listening to them. Officers were there because they wanted to know what they had to do and GK knew what they had to do. He was angry also and he stood from his seat and threw that tea. In anger, he was taking heavy breaths and his back were towards them.
"Officers, I want all the details of this case and we have to find them in any condition. You all will go to that location where it all happened… if you need help then call at the headquarters but FIND EMBER."
All officers stood straight and went from there but Ben stopped all of them. They all were surprised to see him because he had changed his dress and he was ready to go back to his work.
"Sir!! Can I join the case?"
"Yes!!"
GK allowed him to join the case and he also went to the location. Connor was very happy because Ben is back on the work. Summer also went along with them and they reached the spot where it all happened.
[Roaming around]
In that location, all officers were checking around and trying to find something which could help all of them. While roaming around Kelly saw the road cameras and she told everyone about the cameras. "Sir!! There must be something which can help us."
They went to the traffic controller's office to check the footage that they had recorded. They saw everything over there, the camera had recorded everything that happened that day. All officers were surprised and shocked when they saw that James was attacked by dozens of people.
But they saw something else also and it was Chris and black masked people. They all wondered and looked at each other's faces because GK had told them about those people and those people attacked him again.
… Connor- "these people are crazy… they took that small girl along with them."
Fred asks them to play forward. Footage was running on the screen and they were watching everything. They took their car from there.
Ben- "check other cameras."
Officer checked other cameras and found those cars. They were driving their cars on the road and took a left turn towards a lonely place. They thought that there is no road then where they go from there. … They took the footage and went to that location from where those cars took a left turn. They were standing there and roaming around. They thought that they should also go inside and they went. While walking, they were looking around and noticed that the place was lonely and there were no cameras.
Summer was looking down on the ground so that she could find wheel marks but there were no wheel marks. After some time, they found them self at the end of the road and on both sides, there was only forest. For a while they went inside the forest to check but they came back empty -handed. They did not find anything over there. They all came back and stood close to their cars.
[Deep thinking]
They were trying to know where to go, on the roads, there were cameras and it was impossible to run away from there.
Tim- "sir can we spread around and go to different sections of the city and collect the footage… might we find something."
He was right, Ben and Connor both agreed and they spread around the city and checked all the cameras. They also spread that footage among them and went to each and every traffic control section to see whether they had recorded something.
One by one they were visiting each and every control section and came back empty handed. Whole day has been running like water and the sunlight was converting itself into shadow and blue sky converted into black. After roaming around the city, they all gathered at one place and it was the last traffic controller of that city. They had visited many cities that day and watched dozens of footages and now, they don't want to see another one. Fred does not want to go in but he has to go because Ben and Connor both were forcing him to come along with them.
They went inside and talked to the officers. They showed them the footage of that day and found nothing. Officer was changing the location of the footage and suddenly, Emma saw something and she asked to stop.
"What happened Emma?"
She told them that she saw something on the footage. Officer shows her different camera locations one by one and she points her finger at one.
"Play this."
In that footage, she saw three cars going very fast but the clarity of that camera was not good.
Ben- "you should check the camera. We can't see these cars properly."
Officer told him that in that location, there is no camera and that camera is a little bit away from the road.
"Ok."
They took that footage also and went to the hospital to tell him what they had done the whole day and they were going towards that place where those three cars were running very fast.
In the hospital, they told everything to GK and they also showed the footage of that time when it happened. He also saw footage where three cars were running very fast.
"Good work. Go to that place and keep telling me what you all found."
They all left the hospital and after they left, Martin came there to meet GK. When he saw him, he crushed his teeth and stood straight.
Martin was there to ask him what he was doing and where all the FORCE teams were. GK thought that he would ask him about James but he was asking about officers, through his words it was like he does not care about him. Inside, GK was crushing his teeth… that time he was twisting his hand and wanted to break his face but he got calm and explained to him what he was doing.
"Martin, I am doing my work and don't dare to stop me… they have tried to kill my friend and I am trying my best to stop them."
He was very angry and Martin thought that he should go from there because it seems that GK is not in a good situation. He slowly stepped back… pressed his lips inward and went from there.
Officers reached the spot and looked around; they saw the pole where the camera was fixed.
"Sir!! Look, that is the pole and… this is the right direction." All officers roam around and check around that place.
[Checking]
Harry heard about officers through his boys and they told him that officers were roaming around the city to find Chris.
[Thinking]
He made a call to Ronnie and told him about what he heard from his boys and told him to stay careful. [Call cut]
Ronnie went down and there was a van and the van was full of small children and they all were in deep sleep. He told Chris to take the van to a spot where they use to make drugs and prepare raw materials.
Chris thought that Ronnie was thinking too much about James and he told him that he had put him down on the road.
[Groaning]
"Chris… officers are roaming around so be careful… deliver all these children to the factory."
He moves his head and takes that van towards the factory.
Ronnie does not care about the pressure of the work because Chris handles all his work, he uses it to solve all the problems which used to come in their work.
All officers were roaming around the place and thought that they should go more ahead and they all went forward and checked if there were cameras for security or not and they found that there were no cameras and the road split from there in different directions.
Connor- "Now where do we go?"
