A dimly lit room somewhere in the school. The steady beep of monitoring machines fills the air. Jacob lay motionless on the bed, his face pale and covered in sweat.
The school nurse stood by Jacob's side and she had a name tag on her cloth, 'NURSE LISA'.
"Hang in there, Jacob. We're going to take good care of you, " she murmured.
Jacob's eyelids flicker, and he lets out a soft moan. His brows furrow, indicating he's deep in a troubled dream. His breathing becomes increasingly irregular, and sweat beads on his forehead.
With every second, his body tenses up, and his breathing quickens. His face contorted with fear, and he lets out a blood-curdling scream that pierces the silence.
Adam and Ray stood worried close to Jacob, they got scared as Jacob let out a scream.
"What is wrong with him? Is he going to be ok?" they asked.
"He is going to be ok! I think he is in a realmwalk dream," I will try my best to get him back," she responded.
"Realmwalk dream?" Adam and Ray asked in union.
"Yes, it is the space between the dream world and reality, it's like the bridge between the two worlds. Your friend is stuck there, trust me when I say it is scary, " Lisa explained.
She placed her right hand on his head as if trying to ease his distress. She spoke in a strange tongue that non of the boys could understand.
And in the next second, Jacob's eyes snap open, wide with terror, as he gasps for breath.
"N-No... Please... Make it stop!" he said, his voice trembling in fear.
"You're safe, Jacob. You're safe now. It was just a dream. Breathe deeply. In and out. You're going to be alright," Lisa said.
Jacob's gaze focuses on the nurse gradually registering his surroundings. His breathing starts to slow, and his grip on reality strengthens.
Jacob's trembling begins to subside, replaced by a mix of relief and exhaustion. He takes a deep breath, attempting to steady himself.
Nurse Lisa gently wipes away Adam's sweat-soaked hair from his forehead, offering him a reassuring smile.
Rest now, your friends they've been here all this while, waiting for you to recover. I must say you've made really good friends just on the first day of school," Lisa said as she pointed in the direction of Adam and Ray.
Jacob nods weakly, his eyelids growing heavy once more. As Nurse Lisa quietly exits the room, allowing the three friends to catch up.
"Hey, bro! How are you doing?" Adam asked.
"I'm feeling better, thank you for helping me," Jacob responded.
"What really happened bro? The whole room was a mess when we came in," Ray said.
"Argh! I don't know, all I can remember was that I borrowed a book from the school library and when I open it, that's all I can remember. Argh! My head hurts.
"Don't worry it's ok, we will leave you to rest now it's been a long day. I will check up on you later, Ok?" Adam said as he and Ray left the room.
Jacob was left all alone in the room to rest. Just as he closed his eyes, he heard a familiar voice call out his name. It was the same voice from his dream.
(Hi Jacob, how are you doing)
"Where are you? Show yourself," Jacob said in a hash tune.
(Oh Jacob! You don't have to be so mean, I'm in your head and I think we are going to be great together)
(I see you already have something like me in your head, something like a system and I see it is not yet strong)
"No! no not in my head, I already have a system I don't understand and now this, I think I'm going to run mad, " Jacob murmured.
(Don't worry, you'll see I will be helpful)
"Do whatever you like, it's not like I have an option, I need to rest my head hurts," Jacob said as he lay down.
About an hour later Adam returned to Jacob, he was still asleep, and nurse Lisa woke him up.
"Jacob it's time to head back to your room and get some good rest, your friend is here to pick you up, " Lisa said.
They both left the school clinic and headed back to their room. On their way, they engaged in a conversation.
"Here bro, the timetable for our classes, it seems we are in the same class, " Adam handed him the timetable.
"Thanks, bro. "
"Hey, you know you can trust me right?"
"Yes, I know that."
"So I want you to tell me what really happened with you, I have the ability to the past and the future but it's not that strong yet so I couldn't see all that happened," Adam added.
"Is he in your head?".
"Who are you talking about?" Jacob asked with a confused look.
"The evil from the 'Dark Book' you opened."
"Yes he is, but how did you know about him?"
"I used my ability, and that wasn't just a book it was a cage and your blood freed a thousand-year demon two actually they are brothers, " Adam added.
"His name is Rahab and his brother is Dagon."
Immediately as Adam called the names of the two demons, the light bulbs in the hallway began to shake and they felt the ground vibrant a bit.
"Wait so you are trying to tell me that I'm possessed by two demons?"Jacob asked.
"No! Now that's the problem, You are possessed by Dagon the elder he chooses his host first but Rahab is somewhere in the school searching for its host."
"We have to find him fast and lock him in this," Adam said as he brought out a cup with a cover and strange marking all around its body.
(Don't listen to him, he is lying to you)
"You are the liar, you even lied about your name," Jacob shut the voice of Dagon up.
"Wait Adam, where is Ray?" Jacob asked.
"He is in the room, he said he had something to do," Adam responded.
"If they are really brothers, that means Rahab might still be in our room," Jacob said.
"Ray!" they both called out before running to their room.
