Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven: Failed Product

They've parted ways, while Morgan leads half of the Valkyrie, Cassandra and Valerie hide against the walls waiting for the right time to commence their plan. They've waited, long so waited, while watching Morgan from a small screen in the air—Lyrica warns them about an upcoming event.

This should be their opportunity to commence the distraction plan. Valerie looked at the remaining Valkyries and then she pointed out at the main deck where few of the enemy soldiers had gathered. Then she pointed at the man standing at the top floor of the ship.

"We will take our chances," she whispers. "But for now, let's find an opening."

They nodded. As time passed, the opportunity had hit them when few soldiers decided to leave the deck and the numbers decreased. The admiral—the man who got possessed by a demon—left his standing and went inside.

Valerie nodded and put her hands in the air. Then, using an invincible flare, a light exploded which caused brightness. The flare is invincible, so the flare can only be seen by the other Valkyries, a human eye can't see that.

The other team saw the signal and they all moved to their plan. While awaiting for what to come, Valerie observed the parameter where the ship was located. Then she follows the enemies on the frontline, when suddenly she remembers what Angelica said.

"Mobile Artificial Machine," she mumbles and looks at Cassandra. "Be careful, Angelica said that they've not only developed a weapon from object, they also created a human to object—something similar to Valkyrie but far from complete."

Although she defeated Angelica like she was nothing, humans are capable of doing something greater. Angelica might be their weakest machine, because Angelica didn't fully throw away her heart.

"Major, can you do me a favor?"

Lyrica looked at her and breathed out. "Go ahead," Lyrica said.

"Can you look for me about Mobile Artificial Machine on the human browser? I have the guts that saying they might exceed on something. How did they hack our server? How do they bypass a Valkyries system? Who did it? A human? No, I don't think so."

Angelica seemed to be one of the failures they didn't want to throw away, so they put her in the front line to die, but why? Is she some kind of a resource that wasn't needed? If Mobile Artificial Machine is something she knew, there might be an answer to her lingering question.

She has the guts that Angelica is not alone. "Although she said she's the 1st successful machine, why do I think she's bluffing?"

Right...

"Got it!" Lyrica's loud yell made Valerie annoyed.

"Please keep it down, major."

"Oh for God Sake, I've found information about the favor you ask."

"Is that so? Jeez, that was fast—ah, right, you're a machine, I forgot."

Lyrica smirked. "Do you want the information or not?"

She shook her head and breathed out. "I have reflected on what I said, now give the information," she stopped and looked at the enemies trying to catch someone. "Tell me on the way, we got our opening."

"Sure."

Valerie looks at the Valkyrie and a little nod gives them the idea. She carefully runs towards the empty bridge from the main deck to the surface, then she carefully looks at the remaining enemies.

"I've scrolled through the entire media, and I've found three websites of the topic regardless of the Mobile Artificial Machine. One of them is an official website run by a government representative. I've scanned it and it's legit. So according to my findings, on the USA website, a group of unnamed scientists from the UK recently introduced a mechanical robot called Mobile Artificial Machine."

There are several of them guarding the ships.

"I can't say it was made from metal, because the article said that this advanced machine came from a human body, it's not a complete work—however, a month after, they released a complete prototype machine that didn't need a human body. They resemble a human feature, allowing them to assist humans to the best of their abilities. They also stated a 'combat function' that can replace human soldiers to avoid death but the production of this product was slower and only 10 of them were made."

So it's true, Angelica is really one of the failures that humans made. "When was this new announcement?" she whispers.

"About—an hour ago," Lyrica stopped. "Will this mean that they've already planned this attack and they've only announced the news when they were attacking?"

That's possible, they might have done this for both personal benefits. If they can announce to the media about this newest invention, it can both skyrocket in the black market and in the market. However, they can't announce it after the attack so Lyrica and the others won't know what will happen next.

They've orchestrated this in order to fight off the nature of Valkyries existence.

"Also, the other website tells a different story, so I'm sure these two might be illegal or fake news. I also found out that the functions of this Mobile Artificial Machine can harness a strength that is more tougher than titanium. They also said that they can fight with both hands and weapons as swiftly as we can, they also added multiple programs on their chips so they can control the nature of technology, but they lack human emotions and morality."

Even if they had advanced, this is still suspicious. Valkyrie can't be copied due to the fact that their heart was made from a God's blessing. This might not change the fact that they are machines, they are still products of a God.

If humans can replicate that. She gives long thoughts. No, humanity didn't replicate the Valkyrie, instead they helped humanity become advanced at the span of time. This meant that humanity improved during the days they've been fighting with Valkyries.

Learning technology from the core to the outside. It increases the value of their knowledge and they use this knowledge to make their own version of Valkyrie. That said, it's still not complete, their machine might have its own weaknesses but that fact made Valerie amazed by them.

"I appreciate the help," Valerie said. There's only one problem then, they can't tell who's a machine and not while Seven is still unconscious. Valerie can't but Cassandra and the others might have the potential to do so.

She looked at them. Then she breathed out. "Cass, can you identify machines in a human disguise?" She asked.

Cassandra blinked and then she looked at the enemies. A second after she nodded. "I've successfully scanned the area where humans gathered—unfortunately, they are humans but I can sense a transmission inside the ship."

"I see, well done."

This should be safe for now but Cassandra's accuracy can't be trusted. Her insight is good but her identification function doesn't work well, so she's having hard time knowing who's from who.

"Valerie, we can't trust Cass' accuracy," said Lyrica.

"I know but I think she's not malfunctioning right now, so it should be fine."

Lyrica sighs. "We can't be sure of that, Valerie. If you're looking for someone who can identify a machine, just ask Brianna. Cassandra's accuracy can't be trusted, it's too risky."

She looked at Brianna. "Brianna? As in her?"

Brianna looked at her annoyed. "Am I too insignificant in your eyes? Seven gives me an upgrade during the time when you didn't go home, idiot."

"I apologize, if that's the case can you help us identify the enemies?"

Brianna gave a long sigh and looked at the enemies. "Very lucky, if not, I would want to destroy you—well in human language, that should be disciplined. Be careful next time, mess with me and you'll never see the daylight tomorrow."

Valerie smirked. "Is that yes or no?" She asked.

"Bastard," she whispers. "According to my insight, most of Cassandra's information was accurate, there are enemies inside the ship with an active signal on loose. The enemies on the deck are just normal humans, so they can be harmless, but the inside of the ship is different."

"However, the ship has 4 floors, the last is being occupied by humans, while the 1 is being occupied by machines. The humans who left earlier went down stairs, while the machine was protecting the cabin of the admiral."

She then gives them a draft of the enemy's ship, and the enemies location. "If we paralyze most of them in the deck, I can activate a force shield enough to trap the humans below. We can't let them get involved, this will be a battle between machines, our priority is to cause less casualties against humans."

"I've heard that," Valarie said. "Let's try to do this quietly then."

They all nodded and followed Valerie's lead. She carefully sneaks towards the entrance, then she gives them a sign to engage.

The few humans notice them and notify the others but before they can, Cassandra and Brianna run towards them and hit their backs—which lead them to the ground. Others sneaked on the other side of the deck, and knocked the enemies unconscious.

After finishing the mission, they all gathered towards the entrance of the 1st floor, while walking as slowly and swiftly as possible.
