Chapter 3 - Cold Weather

True to its name, the city of Hoar was truly cold. Even during the summer, when the sun shined and no snow was in sight. Ignoring this cold, Heizenburg lead the group, keeping his eye out for anything suspicious. All three of them knew why they were here, rumors had traveled that a strange dangerous creature wander these streets at night. Their job was to find out if this was fake, or kill the monster if true. As they traveled through the city they passed assortment of things, nothing seemed out of place however.

After another quick look around the city the group came to a stop, Sicarius pointed towards an inn.

"We'll stay here tonight"

The sign swayed back and forth in the wind, the name of the inn was barely able to be seen.

"The blooded elf?" Taniwha asked?

Sicarius nodded before heading inside, Taniwha looked at Heizenburg confused. Heizenburg ignored Taniwha and followed Sicarius into the inn, only the barkeeper greeted him as he entered. The inn was quiet, too quiet for Heizenburgs standards he didn't trust it.

"Welcome to the blooded elf" the Innkeeper smiled.

Sicarius smiled back at the Innkeeper, he walked over and offer his hand to the man.

"It's been a while John, how long has it been? 6 years now?"

John laughed and shook his head before replying.

"No my friend, its been around 9 now, but your always welcome here"

The two continued to talk while Taniwha entered, as he entered Heizenburg could hear him mutter. Heizenburg just ignored his muttering, it was a usual thing for Taniwha. He sat down and waited for Sicarius to finish his talk, he waited for another 10 minutes before they said their goodbyes.

"Like I said we'll stay here tonight, lucky for us John is allowing the first night free"

Heizenburg ignored this, he didn't care if he was on the streets, he had be-

"Stop" he thought "don't think about the past"

He took a breath and cleared his head before listening in again.

"John also gave some information about the monster, he says that the city guard has recovered corpses so it has to be something"

This is what interested Heizenburg, the fight, the struggle, the grind. He always was a loose canon, his team knew that, but that didn't stop him. After the conversation he quickly grabbed his bags and gear and chucked it into the room he was staying in. He then grabbed his sword and attached it to his belt, testing if it was secure he pulled the blade out of its sheathe.

The sheathe didn't move, Heizenburg looked at his blade once more. A rune was engraved on the hilt, the blades name. He put the blade back into its sheathe, he breathed in and out one more time, clearing his head, before heading back down stairs. Taniwha and Sicarius stood by the door waiting for him.

"You know what your doing?" Taniwha asked

Heizenburg sighed before walking past Taniwha and opened the door, the cold weather greeted Heizenburg. The sunset barely lit the street now, people would soon head home for the night. Heizenburg stopped to admire the beautiful sky light.

"Lets go"
