We visited my uncle's grave yesterday, it became real when I saw the tombstone beside my aunties. It was early in the morning and I stood at the foot of the stairs looking over this quiet house that was once full of commotion this early. I felt arms wrap around my waist and a chin rested on my shoulder "What are you doing up so early?" I glanced back at Tomas "Just thinking." He stood beside me "By the stairs?" I sighed "This house feels so empty. We'd sit on this staircase and eavesdrop on our parent's conversation. My mom and uncle were close growing up but once Kayla's mom passed away they grew apart. For years we lived here and my uncle was like my father since mine wasn't around. Until we moved away for my mom's job. Then I met Ashlyn."
