He arrived before I could even take a good look at myself in the mirror to get ready but as I was changing I stared at myself and felt turned on at the thought of how it would feel to touch my body.
And suddenly..I was interrupted by a kinetic presence, could be Josh.
and so the feeling wore out when I heard this distinct sound outside.
It occured to me like the sound a wasp would make, if it were inside an engine. It seemed like melodic music, buzzing at one constant tone.it was emitting lowly generated noise vibration, buzzing at just one simple sound wavelength. I've never heard something quite like this. Who needs music now.
I looked out my window. I see Josh already standing outside.
He felt considerate enough to get off the driver's seat, waiting for me. While his very unusual looking silver and black colored vehicle remained ignited and was humming. I couldn't tell if it was floating above ground or standing on tyres.
"Hi Zara." Josh looked up and waved his hand while smiled at me. Like concealing un-noticable hurt inside.
"What's that?" I threw a whisper down as I tried not to alarm my father.
"It's a wisp. A vehicle capable of doing different things, it floats inside time too. Come! I'll show you." He said standing upright with both his hands locked behind.
"Wow, are you a mason or something?" I don't have an idea why I bit my lips, and when I did, I thought I should've laid low about my inquisitive nature.
"Something like that. Will you hurry, we're getting late." his sudden change of emotion was quite evident as though he knows me already.
"I'll be down in 2 mins."
I guess all I carried with me was a little backpack in which I put things that may come in handy. A t-shirt and a pair of jeans is what I put on myself.
At this point I really didn't want to take the trouble of walking down the stairs. So I took a few steps back, ran, and leaped out of the window, it was about 7 ft below.
I landed on my feet, with my knee on the soft grass. It was quite the epic entrance into the scene I must admit.
To me, he looked at me doing all that in slow motion, and his eyes caught my landing rather late and I felt awkwardly dramatic. I guess he wasn't as sporty as me.
"Woah! If I had a favourite hero, it'd be you. How do you leap like that without notice, but never do that again, please. You could break bones."
"That's nothing. it's just what Eglais are capable of." I smirked boastfully.
"Well, let's go learn great things together, I want to equip you with this statically built armour suit and make you look like a hero.
I got it for cheap at the black market when they first designed it and there were just 4 of them. A limited edition suit that repells anything with the magnitude of how gravity acts against any opposite attraction. It's built to protect you from any kinds of hard blows, anything against is repelled, regardless of the mass it carries." he diverted the topic about Eglais, followed by an envious facial expression he made. all I did was, I smiled.
"That sounds really cool, Josh. But no thanks. You know, alot of Eglais have gone missing, some ventured out in the search for ancestral answers and never returned." I said feeling skeptical about his intentions, I don't want to be his lab rat. Wtf?
"Interesting." he walks towards the door and opens.
"Here! these are rice cakes my dad made for Rick but I decided to give it to you instead. It was my mother's favourite recipe." I shoved it on his seat and he just looked confused about it.
"So am I supposed to get in from the other side?" I asked
"Yeah just do that. Hey, did you get everything you need in that little backpack? Just saying."
"I got most of my weapons; a twisting sword, a push dagger, my camera and some shirukens. Is there anything else I'd need apart from that?"
I guess it's true, I was still really paranoid about that billionaire sending people to hunt me down, and I know what my own kind of people would be capable of doing to me. I still don't know why they haven't casted people like him outta the tribe.
"You brought your toys. What about Toothbrush?" he laughed
I sat inside it, was almost like a really airy and spacious spaceship inside. I felt light particles all around me, like stardust. The designs inside were mostly built from rare metals, ones I've not really laid eyes on before. Tbh, its interior wasn't like one of those luxurious cars, as I expected. Minimal and everything dark, every function was embedded in front of the driver's seat. I couldn't tell where the steering wheel was.
This could be something else.
"Hm. It's pretty simple inside. What does this machine do?"
"I'll just show you."
He clicked some buttons, it started to move on the ground first and sped away in a motion that wasn't so easy to recognize with the naked eyes. Maybe slowly, I didnt realize we weren't even on the ground any longer now the ship uplifted and moved through darkness and flickering lights. I felt no air pressure. strange.
"Speed of light." he looked at me with a grin and his frontal teeth protruded.
"This machine is built to move through already bent fabrics of time and, it's logistics programmed to explore time continuum. Do you like it?" he said while his voice quivered and eyes filled with darkness, maybe he wanted to cry.
"I can't seem to tell the difference, why do I feel like I'm still at point A, and not really moving."
"It's built for resistance, Zara. There's so many things you don't know yet. I would never have been able to enter your systems dimension if it weren't for those elixirs I gave you. My systems different from yours and I'm taking you there now. Just close your eyes, mostly. Don't think about it too much." Josh said gently, trying to comfort me.
I felt something different this time, that maybe I would come to love somebody like him. These realisations started giving me heart palpitations.
but i dunno, could've been the air pressure..
