Chapter 43 - Supreme Being? Where Did Your Confidence Go?

A few days ago, When Charles was practising his fire magic. He was having a lot of fun training.

Meanwhile, Lucious was shocked when he saw Charles's golden mana.

"Charles, quickly come to your consciousness," Lucious said in urgency.

Charles followed his instruction and closed his eyes. He was now inside his consciousness, and standing in front of him was Lucious.

He had an indifferent look on his face as he gazed at Charles.

"What happened, master?" Charles asked.

"Your mana... It's special."

"What do you mean?" Charles was confused as he didn't understand what Lucious was referring to.

"Around the age of god when I became a god. I explored all the realms and in one of them, I found a strange sword book.

No matter how much I tried I could not comprehend it. Later, I got to know that the place where I found that book was the tomb of the Supreme Being."

"Supreme being?" Charles muttered to himself as he didn't know who the supreme being was.

"Supreme being, one above all. The strongest in the universe. The master of all." Lucious answered.

"Then how did he die?" Charles asked, As how can the strongest in the universe die.

"The answer to your question, I also don't know about."

"Why are you telling me this."

"The sword skill book that I found in that tomb reacted when you activated your mana."

"Huh...?"

"Try this sword technique," Lucious said as he placed his finger on Charles's forehead.

And soon Charles felt something entering his mind.

The Art Of Dual Wielding

In Charles's mind, a book appeared, there was also another book beside him. Charles knew the other book was a mana-breathing one and this one...

As Charles delved into the contents of the book, "The Art of Dual Wielding," he was captivated by the knowledge and techniques it contained.

Each chapter unfolded a new move, a new principle, and a deeper understanding of the art of wielding two swords simultaneously.

"This... this is incredible! The intricacies of dual wielding, the balance, the synchronization... It's like a dance of blades!" Charles was calibrated by the technique.

While Lucious looked at him he could not help but remember his past. He was once like Charles. "Are you able to comprehend the technique?"

Charles took a moment to answer his question, "Y-yes." He was too focused on the technique.

Lucious lips curled up revealing a smile as he gazed at Charles. "Then, which one do you think is better?"

"Of course, yours..." Just as he heard that he became happy.

"Is second."

"You brat!!!"

"Ok then, why don't we practice, let's spare with me." He subsided his anger and put up a smile.

Charles felt the chill running down his spine. 'I messed up!!'

"Could I... Change my words?"

"No..."

"I as your teacher should spare with you to make you like me."

And as so their spare started or should I say one-sided beating.

Present time.

Thinking about that hellish training, Charles was back-drenched in sweat as he gulped his saliva.

But Axel mistook it as Charles being afraid of him. "Don't worry, I will go easy on you." He said with a smug on his face.

Charles was still in a daze as so he didn't hear what Axel said, "What is that idiot talking about."

Charles referred to him as an idiot after seeing his status. He was really a side character, that was there for a beating only.

Charles was first confused when he saw Axel's favorability towards him. It was in minus, 'Did I do something?'

He then read Axel's story and soon knew the reason why Axel was hostile towards him.

And Axel was in the mid-stage of the superior level.

"Why don't you choose your weapon, newbie," Axel said pressing his anger. 'Don't blame me, if you want to blame, blame yourself for what will happen to you.'

He said as he was confident in his abilities. He had already sensed that Charles was in the early stage of the Advance level. Although he was surprised after knowing that Charles was at that level at his age.

Anyways, it was impossible for Charles to defeat him (according to Axel.)

Charles walked towards the wooden weapons there. "Why don't you use a real sword? You might have a chance to stop ten of my attack." Axel provoked him, he just wanted to humiliate Charles as much as possible.

He looked at Victoria, hoping for a disdainful expression for Charles. But he only found her laughing as she looked at him.

It further fueled his anger. 'You asked for this.' but he wasn't angry at Victoria, his anger was for Charles. 'I will show you, how useless of a bastard he is."

"I am afraid, I will kill you if I used the real sword," Charles said as he examined the weapons.

"Hahaha..." Axel burst into laughter, unable to contain his amusement at Charles's words.

"Kill me? That's a good one, newbie! But I can assure you, you won't be able to land a single hit on me."

Charles maintained a calm demeanour, unfazed by Axel's taunting. He finally chose a pair of wooden swords, one in each hand.

They were well-balanced and suited his dual-wielding style.

As Charles gripped the wooden swords, a surge of determination washed over him.

He was not about to let Axel's arrogance deter him. He knew he had the potential to surprise everyone, including himself.

But as soon as he chooses his weapons, the laughter once again resounded across the room.

This time it was not only Axel but those adventurers who were jealous were laughing at him. While others showed a concerned faces.

He was getting this reaction as in this world, those who wielded dual swords were deemed inferior because of their disadvantage of speed and it was also very difficult to use two swords simultaneously in a fight.

"Charles, are you sure you will fight with two swords?" Victoria asked worriedly, she knew Charles's skills were good with the sword but with two swords?

"Don't worry, I won't embarrass you," Charles assured her with a smile on his face.

As both of them took their stances, Charles assumed his stance, standing with his feet shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, and his body relaxed yet alert. He held one wooden sword in each hand, his grip firm but flexible.

His arms were positioned in front of him, slightly angled, ready to move with fluidity.

The swords were held horizontally, the blades pointing at Charles, the right one positioned at the level of the shoulder and the other one at the level of his hips.

Charles's posture displayed a balance of stability and agility, allowing him to shift and pivot swiftly.

His gaze focused on Axel, his eyes sharp and determined, a grin formed around the corner of his lips.

"I can give you the chance to choose your weapon," Axel said, trying to appear kind in Victoria's eyes.

"Why don't we do the talking later or are you afraid of fighting me." He smugly said.

"Then I won't be polite." Axel greeted his teeth in anger. He had given Charles a chance out of his kindness and instead of thanking he mocked him.

Now he was going to go all out from the start and humiliate Charles.

"Begin!"

As soon as the match begin, Axel madly charged at Charles. He raised his sword to attack Charles.

Swoosh!

Charles moved sideways, narrowing avoiding the hit. And

Clap! Clap!

Axel received two strikes simultaneously strike. He wasn't able to react in time as he hadn't stabilized himself.

One of the attacks landed on his stomach and the other one. Making him drop to the ground.

He didn't know why but he was unable to move. "Where did your confidence go? Mrs. Trainer." Charles taunted, a smirk playing on his lips.
