Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Caution in Chaos

"Yes, Veer! Dharam is right in suggesting that you should increase your warrior rank. This will not only enhance your strength but also extend your lifespan. It's important to understand that while an ordinary person lives for about 100 years, warriors and magicians are different. Our age increases in accordance with our rank. Let me provide you with an example: From rank 1 to rank 3, our age increases by 20 years.

At rank 1, our lifespan is 120 years.

At rank 2, our lifespan is 140 years.

At rank 3, our lifespan is 160 years.

However, reaching rank 4 presents a significant barrier. After crossing this threshold, our age begins increasing by 40 years. For instance, if someone reaches rank 3 with a lifespan of 160 years, upon advancing to rank 4, their age becomes 200. Similarly, with each subsequent rank, there is an additional increase of 40 years. But surpassing the hurdle between rank 6 and rank 7 is immensely challenging. You must be aware that during this progression, one must undergo the heavenly test, wherein lightning descends from the sky. It is a test so formidable that it can even result in death.

As Dhruv comprehends this information, Veer, who is attentively listening, contemplates the possibility of continuously increasing his strength to the point where he may never experience death and become immortal."

Unaware of the peculiar thoughts swirling in Veer's mind, Dhruv approaches Dharam and hands him a bottle of recovery medicine, urging him to drink it as they still have a long journey ahead. Dhruv proceeds to explain to Dharam that Ravi's teasing was merely a result of his hot-tempered nature, and he said those things solely for Veer's benefit. Although Ravi's approach may have been wrong, his intention was noble.

Dharam silently nods in agreement, understanding Dhruv's perspective. He opens the bottle of recovery medicine and consumes its contents. This particular potion is a rank 1 remedy, and as Dharam drinks it, he begins to feel his strength replenishing once again.

Dharam also recognizes that Ravi had no ill intentions towards Veer; he was merely expressing himself in his own way for Veer's well-being.

Observing this scene unfold from a short distance away, Veer suddenly recollects Dharam's impressive technique. He marvels at how swiftly Dharam evaded the threat earlier, realizing that he himself would have struggled to escape from such a predicament. Curiosity piqued, Veer contemplates approaching Dharam to inquire about the technique he employed.

With the desire to learn more, Veer approaches Dharam and politely asks, "Sir, I would like to inquire about the technique you used to escape from the fire bullet. Could you please tell me the name of that technique?"

For a brief moment, Dharam contemplates how to respond, but then he gathers his thoughts and addresses Veer, saying, "Veer, this technique I employed is a closely guarded secret within my family. I am unable to teach it to you, but I can certainly reveal its name. It is called 'Moving After Image.' This technique is divided into four distinct parts, each with its own unique characteristics. In the first part, you can generate multiple after-images of yourself, but they are all indistinguishable from fakes. This allows you to achieve a speed of up to 100m/s. In the second part, while your speed remains the same, the quality of your after-images improves. Upon reaching the third part, your speed increases to 150m/s. Finally, in the fourth part, both your speed and the authenticity of your after-images improve significantly. You can achieve a remarkable speed of 300m/s, and your after-images appear almost lifelike."

Dharam pauses briefly, allowing the information to sink in. Then he adds, "Let me tell you, Veer, even I struggled to comprehend the intricacies of the first part of this technique."

Dharam goes on to explain that this technique consumes a substantial amount of internal energy, which explains why he felt exhausted and out of breath after using it.

Listening intently to Dharam's explanation, Veer is left momentarily speechless. However, a realization dawns upon him—he realizes the tremendous advantage of possessing a movement-based technique. Had he possessed such a technique during the encounter with the wolves, he could have easily dispatched them. Veer's mind races as he contemplates where he could acquire such knowledge and skills.

Suddenly, a thunderous explosion rocks the area, originating from a distance of 3000 meters away from Veer's camp. The deafening sound reverberates so intensely that it could have caused a common man's ears to bleed. Startled by the explosion, everyone ceases their activities and swiftly assumes their combat positions.

"Does anyone know the cause of this explosion?" Rohan asks, seeking information from the group.

"We don't know for certain, but it could very well be the work of that notorious killer," Dhruv suggests, cautioning everyone to remain vigilant.

In response to Dhruv's warning, the guild members of Fire of Magic proceed cautiously, except for two individuals who are not part of the guild. Disregarding Dhruv's advice, they sprint swiftly towards the source of the explosion.

"Hey, both of you, don't be so hasty! That murderer is dangerous. Don't rush into danger," Dhruv warns the duo from behind.

However, the two individuals pay no heed to Dhruv's words and continue their rapid advance.

Observing their actions, Veer, who is accompanying the Fire of Magic guild, simply shrugs his shoulders, assuming that they are not concerned about their own safety.

Following suit, Veer begins running alongside the members of the Fire of Magic guild, heading towards the location of the explosion.

"Hmm, do they really think they can claim all the rewards for themselves? We won't allow that to happen. We'll apprehend the murderer before them. They may be foolish, but we are determined and capable individuals," Both ponders to himself with a sly grin.

The laughter of the two individuals reaches Veer and the Fire of Magic guild, prompting an angry outburst from Ravi, who is already in a sour mood due to Dharam's earlier incident.

"Motherf-ckers! What do they think they're doing?" Ravi angrily curses while running.
