Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 Sell Source Stones

"Dharam shakes his head and says, 'All of these are rank 1 and rank 2 source stones. You should check them with the Source Energy Check Machine (SECM) to verify their ranks.'"

The receptionist responds, "Yes, sir. It's quick. I'll get it done. Give me 10 minutes."

Dharam nods and says, "Take your time."

Afterwards, the receptionist starts counting and checking the source stones with the SECM.

Veer, observing everything carefully, realizes that he has also mixed his source stones with those of the others. He hoped to increase his rank by using the shining stone he had kept separate. Veer contemplated, "I didn't assign rank 1 to the stone that was shining. I will try to increase my rank with that one." Now, he must wait and see how much money he will receive.

After some time...

The receptionist informs them, "Sir, I have completed the count. Do you want to convert them into money, or do you want to increase your noble rank?"

"We need money," Dharam replies.

"Alright, sir. You provided me with 50 source stones, out of which 25 are rank 2 and 24 are rank 1. However, the 24 rank 1 stones are closer to rank 2, so they will be valued more than regular rank 1 source stones."

"As you already know, a rank 1 source stone is traded for 5000 star dollars, while a rank 2 source stone is valued at 10000 star dollars. But since 24 of these stones are closer to rank 2, they will be priced accordingly."

"Wow, Veer! You've earned a lot. Don't forget to throw us a party," Dharam said with a smile.

"Haha, Veer, you better keep your promise and throw that party," Karv, Aisa, Jack, and Rohan chimed in.

"Definitely, I will fulfill my promise," Veer replied.

"Veer, from now on, you don't have to call me 'sir.' You can call me by my name," Dharam told Veer.

Veer simply smiled in response and nodded his head.

"Ah, sir, I have calculated the total cost of the source stones you brought. The 25 rank 2 source stones amount to 250,000 star dollars, and the rank 1 source stones amount to 168,000 star dollars. Is that acceptable?" the receptionist informed them.

"Yes, the price is fine. Please deposit it into our guild account," Dharam confirmed.

"Of course, sir."

At the same time, a notification appeared on Dharam and everyone else's smartwatches. Veer saw that 168,000 star dollars had been added to his bank account. Another notification followed, indicating that an additional 41,666 star dollars had been deposited into his account.

Upon seeing the notification, Veer turned to Dharam and asked, "Sir, how did I receive this money?"

Dharam explained, "Well, it's a guild procedure. I deposited the money into our guild account, and then our guild's accountant distributed the shares to all the members who took part in this mission. It's just how things work."

"But, sir, I only took the test today to become a guild member. How did I receive my share so quickly?" Veer inquired.

"Don't worry about that. I had already sent a message to the accountant, informing them that you were part of our team on this mission. So, your share was allocated accordingly. Just focus on getting ready for the party," Dharam reassured Veer with a playful tone.

Just then, a voice emerged from behind them, asking, "Who is throwing a party for whom?"

They turned around to find Dhuvar and Ravi joining them.

"Oh, sir, is your task completed? We thought it would take longer. We were just discussing that Veer should celebrate and throw a party since he earned so much today," Dharam said.

"Yes, the task is done. We have already reported the victim of the murderer. And, Veer, you should definitely celebrate your success. Dharam here is already an experienced member of our guild. I wonder how much money he must have earned by now," Ravi commented, teasing Dharam.

"Haha, Dharam, Ravi has a point. You should be the one hosting the party," Dhuvar added, and everyone agreed with Dhuvar's suggestion.

Dharam, realizing he was outnumbered, finally gave in and said, "Alright, this party will be on me, but just this once."

Laughter filled the air as they continued their light-hearted banter.

As everyone boarded the train to return to Noida City, they bid farewell, promising to meet again on the day of the party. Just as they were about to leave, a sudden notification appeared on Veer's smartwatch. It was a message, and the words on the screen read, "Veer, I am Lucky's dad. Hurry to City Center Hospital. Someone has made an attempt on your friend's life. Your aunt and I are here. We tried calling you numerous times, but you didn't answer. I had to resort to sending this urgent message. Please come to the hospital as soon as possible."

Veer's heart skipped a beat upon reading the message. Concern and worry filled his eyes as he realized the gravity of the situation. Without wasting a moment, I need to go to the City Center Hospital immediately.

With a determined look, Veer rushed out of the train station and hailed a taxi to take him to the City Center Hospital.

Veer dashed through the hospital corridors, his breath ragged as he pushed himself to the limit. Sweat soaked his body, and his heart pounded in his chest. Finally, he arrived at the reception area, panting heavily. He steadied himself, trying to regain his composure, before approaching the receptionist.

"Excuse me," Veer managed between gasps, "I'm looking for a boy named Lucky. He came here for treatment. Can you tell me where he is?"

The receptionist was taken aback by Veer's disheveled appearance and rapid breathing. She hesitated for a moment before responding, "Sir, please try to calm down. Can you provide more information about him? What is Lucky's full name?"

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, Veer responded, "I apologize for my agitation. My name is Veer Khatri, and I am Lucky Sekhawat's friend. Someone tried to kill him, and he might be in a coma now."
