And, at that moment, it seemed like a God did listen to him. When Devansh opened his eyes again, he found that he was 11 years in the past. To the time before LOA's launch. Before everything began. Now it was his chance. Leveling spree, making friends, righting all wrongs, punishing his enemies, army building, guild wars, large scale expeditions, this is the story of the man who became the god of humanity's second world, the story of Alaric, the harbinger of calamities. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The End And The New Beginning

*Sigh*

Looking down from the roof, most people would have been afraid of the view they saw. But, for Devansh , who had lost everything including his job, family, girlfriend and friends, nothing could make him aftaid.

It was like yesterday when Devansh joined the Silent Warrior guild. But he no longer wanted to remember any of it. Now he had thought of giving up on his life and no one could stop him.

Looking at the message from the guild administration on his phone, he said " I can't believe that after dedicating 10 years of mine to that shit of a guild, they fired me because I was no longer fucking useful for them !"

*Sigh*

"If I were to get another chance, I am sure that would be able to get my revenge." He chuckled softly. "Not that it can actually happen. Now, let's end this failure of a life."

Devansh climbed the parapet. Standing on it, he could clearly see a large part of the city, after all, it was the 45th floor he was standing on.

For the first few minutes he stood there, watching the beauty of the city. But soon, he said " Goodbye."

He stepped forward and fell.

*Crash*

The next day the news headlines put a light on a young LOA player's death due to sucide. But things were not quite the same for Devansh.

....

Devansh was one of the atheists. Thinking that after death all would go back to nothing and human body would mix with the universe.

However what he was experiencing was not quite similar with his ideology.

His eyes broad open and his mind completely concious, what Devansh saw right now was not a hospital room and not even heaven or hell but his own room from 11 years ago.

He muttered, " What the fuck ?"

Devansh could swear that it was not even seconds ago he felt the sensation of his body being thrown on concrete and all his bones crushed to powder.

"Just what is happening ? I am sure that the excruciating pain I was feeling just a few moments ago was real. But now its all gone."

Suddenly a thought crossed his mind ! Devansh stood up and looked at his surroundings that were the same as his room from when he was 17. Investigating his old room, Devansh came across his old smartphone. Opening it, there it was , the date. However, it did nothing more than shocking him further.

The date section of the phone read, " June 1st , 2023. That is one full year before LOA's launch." This left him utterly shocked.

If what he was seeing true then it meant that he had time travelled to the past. But Devansh did not want to leave any questions unanswered and hence, started investigating his surroundings. After a while of observing his surroundings, he finally came to the conclusion that he really time travelled to 11 years ago, or so we're his surroundings saying.

"I can't believe it." he continued, " Even the latest news articles are from 11 years ago. This can only mean that I am back in the past." However, the young man still couldn't make peace with the fact.

"No, I need to go out of this room. If it really is 2023, my family should be here." he decided to look for his family.

Standing from his bed, Devansh opened the door and moved out of his room. Each and every step of his came with complete silence. It was a result of the skills he obtained from LOA.

Slowly, he crossed the staircase and moved towards the living room. Reaching the living room, Devansh could hear the flipping of pages. Then, without hesitation, he opened the door and the view he got was the last nail in the coffin.

"Father... " he was at a loss of words. While, his father, Vinay Sharma , a middle aged man, looked away from the news paper he was reading and towards him, said " Devansh, you slept for quite a bit long. And why are you staring at me like I've come back from death? ". However, his son gave him no response, which made Vinay worried.

He then stood up and moved towards Devansh, putting one hand on his shoulder, he asked again,''Is everything fine, son?". Devansh, now back to reality quickly replied," Yes dad, everything is fine. I assume mom is making breakfast for us."

A satisfied Vinay gave an answer to the the question,"Yes Devansh. But I believe you should firstly think about yourself. Go and wash up. Even though your school life's last summer holidays have started, it does not mean you'll slack."

His father's words hit Devansh. He now remembered it all. Quickly, he replied," Then I'll take my leave for a moment." Devansh then went back to his room and closed the door. He sat infront of his PC and started thinking. He now understood that, no matter how impossible it sounded, he was back in time. And Devansh planned on using his future knowledge to its complete potential. A grin formed on his face, "If a god did listen to me and gave me this chance, then I'll make full use of my future knowledge and change the future itself. However, I firstly need to start preparing for the next year by today. And I know my first step."

However, there was one thing Devansh needed to do before taking any step towards his future, and that was to bath as he smelled like shit currently. " I better bath as dad advised" he said.
