The frost attacked Seth and his chair covering it all in a layer of frost.
Looking into the eyes of the principal that was staring back at him, Seth opened his mouth and asked. "Did I say something wrong?"
No response was given.
"Uhm… Principal Salmit, did I do something I shouldn't have?"
No response again.
"Excuse me, sir, I need to know why I'm…"
"Sorry. I got caught in the moment." Principal Salmit said, interrupting Seth's words.
After his words, the temperature of the room returned to normal, the layer of frost disappearing faster than it had appeared.
"You didn't say anything wrong as I was simply testing your endurance against certain elements." Principal Salmit said as the room returned to normal.
Seth nodded before asking. "How did I do?"
"I increased the cold drastically and very fast, yet you remained calm and when I increased the heat just now to get rid of the cold, you still didn't flinch."
"I'm proud to have a student like you. One who just advanced to Class Two but is also capable of enduring Class Three spells." Principal Salmit said, picking his pen into his hand once more to continue his writing.
Seth bent his head forward in a bowing manner. "Hehehe…I'm proud to be a student of yours."
"Hoho… you flatter me." He continued his writing as he spoke, signing here and there on different pieces of paper.
"So, am I permitted?" Seth asked, reminding the principal of his request.
Principal Salmit sighed and dropped his hands once more on the table, this time still holding on to his pen. "Before that, you do know how important you've become to the institute, right? Even though right now, only a few know of your importance."
"Yes, I do." Seth replied obediently with a nod.
"You also know that the Class Conquest begins along with the start of the new semester right?" Another question was asked. One Seth was already familiar with the details of.
"Yes, I do and I plan to return before the semester begins. The break's a month long and I only plan to spend three weeks outside." Seth gave an answer that clearly satisfied the principal, evident from his smile.
"Then yes, you're permitted to leave. All that remains, is an escort or rather, trainer." Principal Salmit stated.
"I think we have someone that fits that role perfectly." Seth smiled.
Without being told the person, principal Salmit also smiled, knowing who Seth had referred to.
In the commoners' region of the capital, Raiden suddenly felt a chilly sensation.
"Then, it's all set. You're permitted to leave for your training. A permit will be granted to you when Raiden returns." Principal Salmit adjusted the glasses that stood on his nose.
"Raiden's away?" Seth asked, unaware of Raiden's mission.
"Yeah, I sent him on an errand and he should be back by the end of today or even earlier if he knows what he's doing." The principal nodded once more, continuing his unfinished business—signing important Institute documents.
"I see. Then I'll take my leave now." Seth got off the chair and bowed before turning to leave.
"That reminds me, does the card also work outside the institute?" Seth turned back to ask, planning on using it on his trip as he didn't want to spend from his special 'savings'.
"Well, there are a few places it'll work on outside the institute since not everyone is granted entrance into the institute so they can't get their payments. I suggest you just go with the physical currency instead or while you visit places that accept the card, make sure to also withdraw additional money you might need.
"I see. Thank you." Seth bowed again before leaving the office.
"Finally!" The principal let out an exclamation and breathed deeply afterward. Dealing with Seth was troublesome as he didn't know when the sly kid would try to con him.
"Three weeks without having to bother about him. Heh…sounds great." With a joy-stricken face, the principal continued signing.

Back at home, in the Samiel family's estate where the sun was shining at its best at noon, a young boy kept crying as he asked his mother the same question for the tenth time.
"When's Seth coming back?" Nuhel cried out.
"A year at the earliest and five years at the latest." Leah, Seth's mother replied to her youngest child. She was wearing a dead leaf-colored gown that ended just above her ankle as she dressed Nuhel up in shorts and a shirt of the same color.
"That's too far! I wanna see him!" Nuhel yelled, stomping his feet on the ground angrily while tears leaked from his eyes nonstop.
"Mother also misses him, dear. You'll get to see him soon." Leah tried to persuade the young boy.
"I wanna see Seth!"
"I wanna see Seth!!"
Nuhel refused to listen as he continued stomping his feet continuously as he yelled, his voice growing louder each time.
"What's all this noise about?" Davyon walked into the room.
"Dad, I wanna see Seth!" Nuhel turned his attention and shouted at his father.
"Is that why you've been yelling? I could hear your voice from the floor beneath." Davyon walked closer to his son, poking him playfully by his sides.
"Yes, I want to see my brother." Nuhel nodded as he tried to hold back his laughter caused by the action of his father.
"Dear, I already tried to explain to him when Seth would return but he's not listening." Leah sighed reluctantly, her actions not bringing a suitable outcome.
"It's fine. We'll be heading to the capital a week from now. We can visit Seth while we're there. I'm sure the principal would allow us. After all, we're going to meet him and not the other way around." Davyon explained to both his wife and youngest son.
Nuhel shouted in ecstasy. "Yay!"
None of the other words his father said mattered to him. The sheer fact that they would be seeing Seth much earlier than expected was all he needed to know.
"Alright, I see that it's fine with you. You won't bother your mother until then, right?" Davyon asked his son who was squirming in joy.
"Yes! I won't!" Nuhel answered, shaking his body like a snake would.
"Then it's all good. I need to take care of some personal things with your mum. Can you leave us for a while?" Davyon asked his son.
"Yes." Nuhel nodded his head and turned to leave the room.
"Meena is just outside the door. She'll keep you company while I speak with your mother." Davyon informed Nuhel who was already halfway through the room.
Thud.
The door closed behind him as both father and mother watched him leave.
"It's been a while, my love." Davyon smiled as he moved closer to his wife and gave her a deep kiss that stimulated a feeling she hadn't experienced for a long while.
The kiss went on for over a minute and when she pulled back, the only words that left her mouth were. "Yes, it has. I've missed this."
Then, their lustful entanglement continued, blooming into something they didn't have the chance to do in over six months.
