The escort that took Seth around the institute, kept walking in front of Seth as they made their way to one of the dormitories.
Dorm #2 was a dorm of odd people. People with talents in different aspects. Although the escort had acted uninterested in Seth, he had personally seen Seth's talent during the test.
When the principal had sent him to pick Seth, he did it out of respect for the principal and expectation that the person he would personally be picking was really talented but when he got there, Seth seemed… normal.
So he acted uninterested in whatever Seth did until the registration test.
The principal had left him in charge of Seth and he had chosen this particular dorm for odd people for Seth who looked oddly normal.
At the entrance of the dorm was a small office that seemed like the reception and in it was the housemaster of the dorm. The housemaster was stunned to see the escort visiting his dorm but then he saw a young boy behind him and understood.
This dorm was left for the odd ones among all students and if Seth was here now, it meant he was somewhat odd. The housemaster welcomed both of them.
"The principal says to set up a room for him." The escort pointed to Seth.
"I see." The old housemaster took out a thick book with a leather cover and opened it page by page.
"Ahh, room 129 seems to be missing one more member while room 119 is missing two members. There are a few others with incomplete roommates too." The housemaster said after checking through the entire book.
"I'll go with the first room you mentioned. Room 129. Seth answered a moment after the housemaster finished talking.
He only chose that room because he didn't want anyone else joining the room later than himself. Since he would be the one to make this room complete, he chose it.
"Then here's your key." The old man handed a single key to Seth and gestured for him to go in.
"Thank you, old man." Seth said before walking in with the escort behind him.
Room 129 was on the second floor of the dorm and it didn't take long to locate it.
Both of them stood in front of the room as Seth collected his backpack from the escort.
The man turned to leave but stopped when he heard Seth's words. "Thank you very much for your help today."
"It was my pleasure. By the way, you should receive a list of your classes as well as the schedule for your private classes before the runs out." The man said, turning to leave.
Seth looked outside and saw that the sun had set. 'The day's over already.'
"Thank you. Would it be too much to ask for your name?" Seth asked.
The man turned his head slightly so Seth could enter his range of sight. "It's Raiden." Then the escort Seth now knew as Raiden turned and walked off towards the stairs.
"Raiden huh? We'll be meeting a lot in the future." Seth smiled, turning to also enter his room. He had a hunch the principal would stick this man to himself.
"Hmm?" The door didn't open meaning no one was around at the moment.
"No one's around." Seth inserted the key and opened the door, walking into the room with his backpack that barely contained anything. All his necessities, especially his heap of coins rested inside the uninteresting small pouch hung on his waist.
If others knew the pouch that looked so ordinary was as wide as two meters, they would be dumbfounded.
This ten-meter large room was neatly arranged as each roommate made sure to keep the room neat. Four beds were mounted inside the room, two on each side of the room with a small balcony on one side.
"Well, it's been a long journey." Seth said, landing on the only bed he found free. This was without a doubt, his bed from today onward.
He was exhausted so it didn't take long before he drifted into a deep sleep as he wasn't even aware when the other roommates returned.
*****
When he woke in the morning, the room was still empty. "I'm sure they returned last night so they must've had early classes." Seth rubbed his hands against his itchy eyes.
He had only dropped his hand when he noticed a large envelope beside him.
He recalled the words of Raiden who said he'd get a schedule of his classes.
He opened the envelope and pulled its content out.
A letter and a list written in tabular form.
He read the letter first. It was a letter showing his acceptance as a student while the tabular list contained all the classes he would be taking, their time, venue as well as their teachers, and even his private lessons.
He glanced through it and found out that one of them would be starting in about twenty minutes.
"Shit!" He jumped out of bed. Going to his first-class late was something he didn't want to happen no matter what. That would leave a bad impression about him.
He found a packaged box and without looking inside, he could already guess what was inside.
He rushed into the bathroom and washed up. It didn't take him five minutes as he tore through the box and took out his uniform and an ID.
He dressed up and zoomed off to class. He would have breakfast between classes.
As he rushed to the venue, he continued to struggle with the last button of his shirt that wouldn't allow itself to be buckled no matter what. He let it be and continued his hastened steps to the building where the first class would be held.
He still had five minutes before class would begin so he prepared at the doorstep to walk into the classroom.
"You should wait until I call you." A feminine voice said from a few meters away.
Seth turned to see the woman who was speaking.
She was a lady gifted with a woman's necessities.
She looked to be in her late twenties but she was already a teacher here. Seth gauged her and found out she was a Class Five mage. 'Not bad.' He thought.
"Then I'll do just that," Seth responded to her words.
"You're Seth Samiel the new student, right?" She asked.
"Yes, and you must be Miss Hina, the teacher of our water elemental class," Seth replied with a polite bow.
'Good manners.' The lady smiled. "Yes, I am. Now wait here until you're called for." She said before walking into the classroom.
It didn't take long for him to be called as he heard her begin to speak.
"Good morning children, we'll start the class by introducing our newest student who arrived just yesterday. Another member of the Samiel family. Seth Samiel." She said and the door opened up, revealing a handsome face holding a red pair of eyes and black hair as dark as ink.
Looking at the tens of students currently seated in the room in a semicircle pattern and staring at him, he opened his mouth. "Hello everyone, my name's Seth, and I look forward to a great class with you all." That was all Seth could say. He was great at cooking up lies in the heat of the moment but when it came to speeches, he was bad at that.
Murmurs began in the classroom.
"Another Samiel."
"They're said to be experiencing a time of great talents."
"His sister is currently one of the school council members and she's a genius."
"So was Rachel Samiel when she was present."
"Alright, settle down kids." She raised her voice.
"Go ahead and grab a seat." She instructed Seth.
Seth didn't seem shy as he walked away from the teacher.
"Hey, roomie, over here!" Seth heard someone call to him.
'Roomie? He should be someone from Room 129 then.' Seth thought as he made his way to the person calling him occasionally getting stares from those he passed.
"Thank you." Seth found an empty chair next to the person that had called him.
"It's my pleasure. My name's Taro by the way. Taro Komura and I'm also a roommate from Room 129." The boy introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you Taro." Seth smiled.
