Maria left school and went to work. Her days were overall the same, confirming documents sent to her desk before forwarding them to her boss, running east and west to finish errands, attending appointments on behalf of her boss who was currently out of the country.
She checked herself one more time in the mirror before heading out to attend the appointment meeting with a client.
Maria took her seat since the other party hadn't arrived just yet. The ambiance of the hotel was elegant and soothing, her aching shoulders and muscles relaxed a bit.
She felt a gaze upon herself and frowned. It was too intense to ignore but also didn't want to acknowledge since the person was seated behind her.
The client arrived with his secretary and the meeting begun right away.
