Ken had alread washed the fruits and packed them neatly in the skin bag. He knew females loved fruits and he had collected the best for her to eat, he hoped to appease her even if it was not that significant, he was willing to work towards her acknowledgement.
Walking to where she lay, he sat himself on the ground where he could watch her perfectly. Her hair was scattered where she sat but she hadn't made an attempt to look at him.
He didn't mind despite the bitter feeling. He looked into the bag and picked out nuts. They needed to be peeled as he had seen most males do the same for their female's. He begun to peel them dutifully. After he had a handful of nuts, he called out to her name and she looked his way with a blank expression. "I collected delicious fruits for you. Try them out!" he spread out his palm.
"I'm allergic to nuts." Sydney refused to take the nuts and retracted her gaze from him.
Ken didn't understand what allergic meant but he could tell from her little frown that she didn't like the fruits.
Sydney wasn't purposely trying to pick on Ken, she was allergic to nuts and her whole body would swell if she came into contact with them, much less put them in her mouth and eat them.
Ken rummaged in his bag and this time round brought out bananas for her. As males, the sweet fruits and and foods in general weren't their kind of snack but the females would be delighted to eat them. Before he could hand the banana to her, Caden walked over with a bowl of pipping hot meat, it smelt so fragrant that Sydney immediately sat up and looked his way.
Seeing her eager eyes trained on him, Caden smiled and rushed over. She stretched out her hands to take the stone bowl but Caden dodged her and took a seat next to her. "It's hot. Let me hold it for you." he warned and held the bowl while she looked at the meat with hungry eyes.
Ash also walked into the sitting room and sat on the fluffy floor his tail swaying without his permission. He was happy to choose a prey with meat that she loved. Shawn was also in the room silently waiting on his female.
Taking out a piece of nicely sliced meat, her small hands were burnt by she sturbbonly put the piece in her mouth and chewed with relish. A few ingredients were lacking to make the meat tastier but she could pass with its current state. She kept taking out pieces and stuffing her mouth till her cheeks were practically puffed.
"Go easy. No one's going to take your meat away." Caden ruffled her curly red locks and she nodded in understanding but didn't slow down till the bowl was almost empty. Too engrossed in filling her stomach, she had forgotten the four specimens in the room and all had their eyes on her. She looked up from the bowl of food and noticed that they weren't eating. "Where's your food?!" she asked.
Ken smiled softly. She had oil all over her mouth and when her big eyes scrutinised them, they looked extremely cute!!!
Sydney's face flushed upon realising that she had activated her unruly eating behaviour and she stopped stuffing herself like a starved little food monster. Too embarrassed to stay here a second longer, she abruptly stood up and looked towards Caden. "Thank you for the food!" she expressed her gratitude and stole a glance at Ash, he had been the one to hunt the food. "The meat was really tender and easy to chew. Thank you!" she have a soft smile with her red face.
Shawn didn't expect any form of praise so he could only find time and head out to hunt another good prey to make Sydney happy.
Ken on the other hand looked away. She didn't like his fruits nor look enthusiastic about trying them. "Caden, remember to let Shawn and Ken talk their matter out." she reminded Caden who nodded.
Shawn was confused but all that died down when she walked over to him and kissed his cheek. It was easier for her to kiss his cheeks since he couldn't see her and she had found the guts to behave shamelessly with him. "I'm off to play with the other females!" she said and ran out of the room, through the front door to the yard before disappearing from sight
The other three who didn't get kissed felt bouts of jealousy simmer from within their chests but they couldn't do anything about it! Seems like Shawn was the most favoured of them all!!
"I'll be on guard ." Ash said and stood from where he sat. He walked out with his tail slumped showing his not so good mood but he needed to keept her safe.
Looking back at her home, Sydney flushed but shook her head to kick out the devil in her mind. Clad in a mid thigh length skirt and off shoulder top, her delicate skin and smooth legs were exposed. Her skin looked delectable that most beastmen stopped in their tracks to admire the beautiful female. With a. soft smile on her face, Sydney's eyes looked around and made a soft bow as a form of greeting.
Seeing such a beautiful female walk around with no males in her company, some single beastmen were tempted to go and approach her but they knew better... there's no way a female as beautiful and angelic as her would he walking around without a male. The prettier the female the stronger the males she had with her. She was already crowned the most beautiful female in their world. Many could support the claim of her being prettier than the females from the fish clan.
Sydney didn't mind being looked at and after walking for three to four minutes, she found the place she had seen the females gather and many were there chatting happily. She gulped down some saliva to moisten her throat. You can do this!!!!' she muttered to herself but felt her heart quivering. She was very terrible at starting conversations with others...much less these strangers! But she really needed to blend in if she was going to stay here in the future.
As she was beating herself over how to approach the others, a small cub that was playing with the others bumped into her leg when it wasn't looking where it was going and ended up falling back. Sydney let out a cry of surprise and looked to see the small cub looking up at her with its big eyes. So adorable!!! she internally squealed. She bent down to the little one's level squatting in the process. "Hey little guy!!" she spoke in a babyish voice.
At this point in time, many of the female and beastmen who had followed her were watching her with different expressions. Ash who had been following her from a distance watched as she interacted with the cub.
She had no idea that the cub was actually a beastman. She looked up and saw some females looking at her with sneers. No Female species accepted the fact that someone was prettier than them or more beautiful, though the basis of the the grudges they had on Sydney were different, the first and foremost was her beauty! They envied her!
Sydney chose not to take it to heart and look for the females she had waved at and they returned the gesture and not long, she spotted them off and away under a secluded tree shed. Her sad mood brightened and she sprinted off to their side.
Camelia a female from the jaguar clan saw the beautiful red haired female from a few days back running their way. She had already spotted her but didn't expect her to approach them. Immediately, she stood up along with her small group of friends and looked Sydney's way hopefully.
Not disappointing them, Sydney stopped right before them and offered a killer smile. "Hello! I'm Sydney."
Camelia smiled in return along with her friends. " Happy to meet you Sydney! Welcome to our city. I'm Camelia." she introduced herself them begun to introduce her other female friends. They were Sarah, Gloria, Brenda, Rita and Scovia.
"Thanks for the warm welcome. Can..I join you?" Sydney asked gingerly and one could see that she was nervous. Camelia was surprised to see a beautiful female be nervous before her other females. It was unprecedented!!!
"Sure!" Camelia and her friends chorused and spared a space for Sydney to sit.
Back at home.
Ken felt his ears ring when he heard what Caden told him. His fate was in Shawn's hands?!! Shawn was also in utter disbelief.
"Don't hold it against him, Ken." Caden warned when he noticed Ken's killing intent.
