Chapter 94 - Divine Sense

"Now we can talk." Ray was curious as to how she was able to fit so much vitality in such a small body, but he had more pressing matters to attend to.

"How did you do that?" She responded, clearly confused. She had tried her hardest to break these chains for God knows how long only for some random guy to waltz in and snap them like twigs.

"Well, these chains are not particularly hard, they are made out of regular steel. They absorbed a lot of your vitality, but as they were not refined, they didn't get much stronger." He said, looking her in the eyes. "After that, I analyzed the mana fluctuations to learn the hex used. While the spell might be an advanced one, it was put rather sloppily."

"The only reason that you couldn't break them yourself is because they remained unrefined actually. As your vitality remained unchanged, you instinctively viewed them as a part of your body. Naturally you wouldn't be able to break them." He continued. For some reason he answered her questions with no hesitation, as if she was the most trustworthy being he had ever encountered.

"Then what are you doing here?"

"While wandering around a forest, I found a deposit of mana crystals. After following them down I came across this place. I was intending to speak of migration to the queen of this colony, but I was attacked as soon as I entered the throne room."

"Migration to where?"

"My sub-space."

"And where is this sub-space." With every question she asked, her eyes glowed brighter and brighter.

"Technically inside of me, but I don't know exactly. I can show you."

"Shave that for later. What do you know of Drista Yun?"

"I don't know who that is."

"What is your name."

"Higan."

"How old are you."

"I am not sure, but if I was to guess I'd say 18."

"How did you cross dimensions?"

"I was pushed into a portal."

"How did you become a high human?"

"When I was about to become a saint, I prevented my body from absorbing soul energy. After that I went through a transformation and became a high human."

"How did you do that?"

"I have good control over the mana in my body, so I just blocked it out."

"Is that why you don't know about divine sense?" At this point her eyes illuminated the entire room.

"Divine sense... Divine sense? Divine sense!" As if confused he repeated himself. Suddenly his eyes lit up with golden light.

Before she could understand what was going on, she felt her body stiffen. A hand grabbed her by her neck and she felt space warp around her.

"What a bitch. I saved her, and this is what she does." Breaking off the trance Ray took no more chances and threw her into the subspace. "Though I have to thank her, otherwise I would have never known about this."

Using his newly acquired divine sense he looked around. Everything within 10,000 miles was within his field of view, with no walls or barriers being able to stop him.

This only lasted a few seconds however, as his eyes started to bleed.

Turning his divine sense off, it felt like a whole new world was open up to him. A rush of information entered his mind, but as his soul power was so dense it didn't do any damage.

In only a few moments his eyes healed, and he turned it on again, this time limiting the range. Now he had a sphere with a radius of 5 miles all around him where everything was seen. He even saw himself from a third person perspective and found that looking at himself like that was rather unconformable.

He could see that while doing this, his eyes were entirely gray with no distinction between his pupil and the whites.

After a little experimentation, he found out how to control it as he wished, as walking around with gray eyes would be too eye-catching. Like this his normally black eyes looked even blacker, like a starless night sky.

Now, only when he tried to peer into someone's mind would they be able to detect his divine sense. This was what the woman was doing, by taking advantage of his lack of a divine sense she was effectively brainwashing him.

But when she asked about divine sense, he suddenly remembered about the strange feeling he had when speaking to her earlier and found that it was now much more intense and constant.

As if waiting for his approval, his talent then took over, erasing her divine sense from his body and shaking her mind. He took advantage over this split second to not only learn it from the fragments still present in his body, but also throw her into the subspace.

There he was a god, with control over all the mana, so she wouldn't be able to resist.

"Well, I guess that's what I get for trying to be nice. But I can still say that I tried. For now, let's just get whatever it is that blocked my mana sense at that time."

After a bit of investigation and comparison between his mana sense and divine sense he figured out that it was the main throne in the throne room. There was something in it that blocked out his mana sense, preventing him from drawing everything into the subspace.

But with his divine sense he felt no aversion, so with a wave of a hand every single mana stone, mana crystal or sun eater in this impossibly large cavern as well as in the surrounding walls suddenly vanished.

A thousand-mile-wide hole appeared, with the middle region and deeper of the forest starting to collapse. An earthquake shook the neighboring village, though it was far away enough that it didn't cause any damage.

Using his newfound prowess, Ray flew out of the giant hole and into the village, entering into one of the many taverns, throwing a small mana stone to the clerk, entered into one of the rooms and vanished into the subspace.
