Volume 2 Chapter 35: Evolution
Vespera: "I've also noticed that you have almost the same aura as Majesty."
Tria: "You can call me Tria. Since you're so astute, I assume you might have a few guesses about my identity."
Vespera: "Yes, Your Majesty Tria."
Tria: "So, care to share why you found their aura similar to my original body?"
Vespera: "Your Majesty Tria also has the same aura as them and your original body."
Tria: "Please continue."
Vespera: "I noticed that Eve and Pepper here have almost the same aura as her Majesty and you your majesty Tria. So, I assume it's due to their original body, named Carmilla, the one who is beside Your Majesty."
============================
Vespera, stop talking and start looking at Carmilla, who is beside Tria. Vespera's gaze looks so intense that it feels as if she is being regarded as nothing more than a scientific experiment in Vespera's eyes.
Initially, she tried to ignore Vespera's peculiar gaze, but the longer she was looked at, the weirder she felt. Consequently, she hid behind Tria, resembling a shy kid.
Tria then reprimands Vespera after Carmilla hides behind her.
Tria: "Okay, stop looking at her intensely. You're scaring her. Continue telling us what you noticed."
Vespera: "Apologies for my intense gaze. It's truly fascinating to encounter another pureblood vampire. Each time a pureblood vampire is born, it signifies the birth of a new vampire progenitor. However, based on the records in the Grand Library, no second vampire progenitor was born as long as another was alive. Therefore, the birth of another pureblood vampire suggests that your Majesty's original might perish."
Tria: "That might be true, but I inherited a technique in the memory from my original body that can enable any pureblood vampire to evolve into a vampire progenitor."
Vespera: "But, your Majesty, that technique should involve a sacrifice, as such a method would disrupt the balance without some form of backlash or sacrifice when utilizing it."
Tria: "You're correct. Based on the memory I recall, my original self would be weakened for some time after using that technique."
Vespera: "Your Majesty, Tria, can I learn about that technique?"
Tria: "You can, since you are more than qualified to learn it. Let's go talk to the side."
Carmilla, Eve, and Pepper remained silent, refraining from speaking, as they anticipated Tria might imply they were too weak to engage in the conversation.
Tria leads Vespera to the place where she had the conversation with Carmilla. She then casts a wind dome spell. Vespera follows suit, casting another wind dome spell, effectively doubling it, ensuring that there is no chance of their conversation being leaked out.
Vespera was on the verge of casting another spell, but Carmilla intervened and stopped her before she could proceed.
Tria: "No need to use space magic, as this part of the dungeon was already in another realm that my original created when establishing this dungeon."
Vespera: "If that's what you say, Your Majesty."
Tria: "What I'm about to reveal should not be disclosed to anyone easily. The knowledge of this technique is known only to the Elder Council, my original, and all her incarnations."
Vespera: "You know me, Your Majesty. My lips are sealed."
Tria: "I acknowledge your discretion, but I am aware that you have the habit of documenting all the intriguing findings you come across."
Vespera: "Your Majesty, you're aware that I'm not currently equipped or in a condition to write anything without access to writing materials."
Tria: "Fair enough, you're right. You don't have any paper or pens to write with, and I will be canceling the temporary revival spell on you after your battle with Carmilla and her clones end."
Vespera: "Ah, Your Majesty, the revival was not a permanent one?"
Tria: "Of course not. Do you think I could cast a permanent one? I don't have enough power with me at the moment. If I were to revive you much earlier, I would have had enough mana to cast a permanent revival spell on you."
Vespera: "That's too bad."
Tria: "Enough of the secrecy. I will reveal the technique my original used to create another progenitor. She employed a powerful material to transform a pureblood vampire into a vampire progenitor."
Vespera: "Your Majesty, what kind of material can achieve something as extraordinary as that?"
Tria: "It's where the power of a vampire gathers."
Vespera: "Your Majesty, that should be the heart of a vampire, as theoretically it's where most of our power gathers. When damaged, it greatly weakens us. However, a normal vampire heart shouldn't possess that kind of power, even if it's from a high-ranking vampire. Unless..."
Vespera abruptly ceased her words, her shock evident in her facial expression and eyes.
Vespera: "Don't tell me, Your Majesty..."
Tria: "Based on the look on your face, you seem to have guessed something."
Vespera: "Your Majesty, is it the heart of a vampire progenitor?"
Tria: "That is correct. To transform a pureblood vampire into a vampire progenitor, only an equivalent rank of material will work."
Vespera: "But that would weaken Her Majesty for an extended period until her heart naturally regenerates, as it will also impair her natural regeneration. No one in our race possesses the ability to heal that kind of damage in a vampire progenitor."
Tria: "That's correct. To transform a pureblood vampire into a vampire progenitor, it would not require just one heart, but my original estimated that it would need around 4 to 5 hearts."
Vespera: "That many?! It would weaken Her Majesty for more than a thousand years."
Tria: "You're correct about that, but you don't have to worry, as my original has already finished collecting five of her hearts long before she created this dungeon."
Vespera: "When?"
Tria: "You should have noticed that from time to time, my original would disappear or go to sleep for two centuries before returning, right?"
Vespera: "Now that you've mentioned it, Your Majesty indeed used to disappear for more than two centuries before reappearing. I used to think that Her Majesty simply wanted to unwind, which is why she would disappear back then when I was still alive."
Tria: "You could think of it that way as well. However, the primary reason she disappeared was to conceal her weakened state from any spies. With her weakened, many of our enemies lurking in the shadows would take advantage of the situation."
Vespera: "That would indeed be troublesome. Even though we will ultimately prevail, fighting those adversaries would diminish my research time. Do they truly believe that they can win despite Her Majesty being weakened for some time?"
