The next time I woke up, I was all alone in Viktor's house. And it was the best feeling in the world.
I had nothing I needed to worry about, Mike sent me a text to say I had the day off work, and I was going to take full advantage of a house to myself.
Especially after the day I had yesterday… and maybe the day before that too…how long was I hanging around that warehouse anyways?
You know how you have those days that really just don't go your way? You have had severe blood loss and had to stitch your body back together with just the threads from your clothes… you know the feeling… right?
Well, that was my yesterday, so today was my day to just veg.
I got out of bed, and after realizing that not only did I not have any clothes on, but there were no clothes in the closet of my room, I went into Viktor's room and stole a shirt out of his closet.
There was a small part, read a big part, of me that absolutely loved and hated Viktor's room at the same time.
As soon as you opened the door you were greeted with a feeling of complete calmness.
The walls were painted a grey color that was neither too dark nor too light and his big four-posted bed was meticulously made with silky black sheets that made me close my eyes in fantasy.
Like, they called on me to jump on the bed and mess them up, just to watch the OCD Viktor completely lose his mind when he went to go to bed. Do you think that he would remake the bed just to crawl in? Or would he just get into the bed, no matter how the sheets looked?
That would have been so much fun… but I am a mature adult and will not mess up a bed just because the corners are folded at a perfect right angle.
I am definitely going to mess up that bed... just not today.
His walk-in closet was the stuff dreams were made of.
There were clothes hung up on both sides of the walk-in that was larger than my living room back home. Rows upon rows of suites, dress shirts, belts, ties, and shoes were in perfect order, not a single one out of place.
I would have to say, it was no wonder Viktor looked so good and put together every time I have seen him. He wouldn't even have to turn on a light and he would come out of that magical room dressed to perfection.
Everything was black, from the suits to the vests to the dress shirts. Seriously, why did the man do it? Did he do it for convenience? So that everything would match with everything else? Or did he do it because it was his favorite color and it hid blood well?
There was not a single article of clothing that was not black.
I'm pretty sure that at the back of his closet, even the t-shirts were black.
Mmmmm, Viktor in a t-shirt… I pictured that image in my head, and I had to say, as much as I did not have a crush on the man, I could enjoy a fine monster specimen such as him.
But only in my head.
And only when he wasn't around to spy on me inside my head.
I put his black dress shirt on and, for once, enjoyed being small enough that the shirt hung down like a dress.
I went back into my room (yes, I am officially claiming that room as mine), grabbed my phone, and headed to the kitchen.
I put my music on and my head started bobbing to the beat.
Finding the remaining peanut butter cookies he put on a lower shelf, thank you Viktor, I munched on the offerings and started to dance.
It never mattered what type of music I listened to, I just loved dancing. Probably my Gypsy blood.
Whether I was a good dancer or a bad dancer it didn't matter, what mattered to me what the feeling of freedom I got whenever I cranked my music and grooved to the beat.
It's not like anyone saw me do it anyways.
After I got tired of dancing, I made myself a cup of hot chocolate from the mix that I found in the kitchen… the absolute psychopath that was Viktor Van Helsing didn't have any marshmallows or whipped cream to put on top… and made myself at home on the couch.
I found a large blanket and surrounded myself in its warmth as I turned on the tv and just… vegged.
It was one of the best days ever.

"Report," said Viktor as he looked at Sasha from the other side of his desk at Knights Securities.
"The individual killed when we rescued Nadezda has been identified as The Specialist. We have handed the body over to Mike Volasko, letting him know that it was Nad's kill."
Viktor nodded his head as he turned to his computer.
"In regard to the crow that Lucas' Beta has mentioned, we believe it to be a Skinwalker. Although which one is still under investigation. Preliminary findings have the crow involved with most of The Specialist's dealings. We presume that it was a way to cause chaos with the humans while not contradicting our laws."
"For an animal, it is pretty smart," remarked Viktor as he studied whatever it was that he was looking at on his screen. "Continue investigating. Also, ask Volasko what his plans are for the government agent. Not the wolf, the one selling our weapons to The Specialist."
Sasha was nodding when he suddenly froze. The expression on the Van Helsings' face made him tremble in fear.
What could cause that man to smile like that?
Quickly, without alerting his Boss, Sasha hurried up and quietly left the office.
Shutting the door behind him he sighed in relief. He then turned to the two Knights that were guarding the office door. "Whatever you do, do not go in there," he warned before returning to his own office to complete his tasks.
What on earth could that man be watching to put a smile on his face? A new weapon? A new method of torture? The last time that man smiled like that was when he was facing down a horde of wolves by himself.
No, whatever made him smile was not a good thing.

Viktor changed the camera feed on his computer, watching the little Gypsy dance around his condo in only his shirt, a box of cookies cradled in her arms.
The look of joy on her face made him relax.
Just yesterday she had gone through unimaginable pain and even died, yet today, she was able to dance.
He smiled at the sight as he turned off the feed and went back to work, marveling at how she seemed to look at the world. She would not let the darkness get her down.
And it was his job as the Van Helsing to not let the darkness touch her again. As the last of the Tesalors, she needed to be protected.
