Chapter 6 - Mid Tier

La'el walked limply supported by Atma to the nearest clinic.

His head felt empty and couldn't think of anything.

He didn't even pay attention to the one who brought him.

"You are okay ? why are you acting like that ?"

"Hmm ?"

"Haih.. I think it's necessary to take you to the doctor before asking anything"

Atma carrying La'el to the clinic and laying the man on the bed. He then walk around looking for a doctor.

"What happened to me ?"

La'el who had returned to his thoughts immediately wondered what had just happened to him.

What he last remembered was he is trying to keep the carbon dioxide from his body.

But after a while his head became dizzy and the contents of his stomach came out.

A middle aged woman came into the room with the asian girl he met this morning.

The middle aged woman held his stomach and was flowing it with energy.

A refreshing feeling immediately enveloped him.

"I'am okay right now"

"Fine ? Your body is poisoned brat. What did you eat this morning ?"

"Huh ?"

La'el didn't even have breakfast this morning, the last thing he ate was meat with Berto last night.

Berto was still fine, the only explanation his head could think of was that he was poisoned by carbon dioxide.

"Atma, can you look after this person for a bit ? I'll go make some herbal tea"

"Feel free doc"

Only then did La'el realize that the Asian girl he had been trying to seduce earlier this morning was Atma, one of strongest student in academy.

His eyes widened slightly at the beautiful girl.

"Why are you looking at me like that ?"

"N-n-no. I just suprised that you're Atma"

"Did you don't know me ? I'm quite famous though"

"I'am freshman okay ? how can i know you"

"Hmm ? oh boy, where do you even come from ? I'm also quite famous outside bye the way"

"Don't talk to me, i feel like a caveman"

"Caveman ? didn't you say you were my man this morning ?"

Seeing the playfull smile on the Atma's face La'el couldn't even say anything.

'Goddes my ass..'

That girl was teasing him.

"I changed my mind few minutes ago."

"Hahaha.."

Wiping the tears that came out of his eyes, Atma smiled back at La'el.

"Sorry boy, you're a little funny"

La'el rolled his eyes wondering What was wrong with that girl.

"What are you laughing at ? something wrong with my face ?"

"Nothing. You just looked like an idiot this morning but now seems your brain is working again"

"Tch. Some people say you are a goddess. But i think you're just a foxiest"

"Did a caveman just call me fox ?"

La'el was too lazy to respond, he hoped the person who cared for him would return quickly.

"hope you are well, 'my man' "

Atma waved coquettishly and walked out of the room.

Not paying much attention to that vixen, La'el focused on analyzing where the problem was with him.

He was thinking if carbon dioxide really the main problem.

Because carbon dioxide that he thought was something everyone produced when they exhaled.

If carbon dioxide really was that dangerous then everyone should be sick to their stomach by now.

La'el want to try what he was doing in class a few times ago.

controlling the energy in his body, he guides the air that is going out so that it goes back into the lungs.

Just like before he felt his body strengthen after some circulation.

But it didn't last long before his head started spinning again.

"Shit.. This.. Pain.. Again.. Hoeeek"

The doctor entered the room only to be shocked to see his patient vomiting again.

"You ! what's happen ?"

"Urgh.. Hoeek !"

**

After getting some "warm words" from doctors, La'el ended up being sent to Berto's inn and sleeping in his room the whole day.

Opening his eyes, the sun has set.

Even though he felt his energy increase, his body was completely forceless.

After throwing up so much his stomach growled.

La'el forced his body to move from his room, at least to get some food.

He saw that Berto was still in the lobby reading a book.

"Hey sir, are you not sleeping yet ?"

"Hmm ? Aren't you sick ?"

"Yeah, but my stomach won't compromise. Did you know which restaurants are open now ?"

"walk to the right until you find a large building with a banner says "Blue Cloud" then you will be able to find many food courts around it."

"Thanks"

The academy's streets weren't particularly quiet, La'el could see a few people walking around.

Berto did not say how far it was, after walking for more than 10 minutes he hasn't seen Blue Cloud building.

La'el felt that he had been tricked by that bastard.

A few moments later he saw a large building with a lively area around it.

"Is that Blue Cloud ?"

As he walked closer, he felt that the blue cloud building was on par with HRF or maybe a little bigger.

He wondered what kind of business was there.

La'el ended up sitting in a chicken stall and ordering lots of food.

While chewing his food he asked the shop owner.

"Hey bro, Do you know what Blue Cloud sells to have a building that big ?"

"Are you freshman ?"

"Yeah"

The young man nodded before answering La'el's question.

"They sell hope"

"Pardon ?"

"They haven't sold anything yet. They conducted research on weapons and beasts. If you put your money in there you will be informed about the results of their research. You know, even many professors put some money into them."

La'el felt a bit surprised after hearing that, how some mere students can do such a thing.

"So who is the owner ?"

"Atma"

"Shit that fox again.."

"Pardon ?"

"Nothing, your food is great"

"Haha thanks. Its family recipe"

The parched state of his stomach made La'el devour the chickens like an air.

Food that has been chewed goes through mechanical digestion in the mouth, slides sharply towards the esophagus.

After eating more than 2 servings, La'el got up and returned to where he was going to spend the night.

Sitting alone on a small bed, he was still wondering what was wrong with the carbon dioxide.

Even if he is a donkey who falls into the same hole twice, he is not a fish who will forget everything in 5 seconds.

He could at least surely say that carbon dioxide is a type of poisonous gas.

But poison with the right dose would produce a type of medicine.

Adjusted all the processes he had done before, he came up with an idea that felt reasonable.

He lumped the energy and hold it in the trachea when exhalation proses.

Even after all his training in controlling energy this process was still very difficult.

Clumping energy is a trivial matter, adjusting the pace with the breath which makes it difficult to do that.

La'el gathered focus like tree roots absorbing water.

Takes away all sense of some of the primary senses.

Two groundwater droplets that finally met fused together before gathering at the tips of the roots.

Scattering large droplets all over the body before being carried away by the escaping energy.

Nutrients that got absorbed weren't a great deal, but even a pile of gravel could make a hill.

Dozens of times..

Hundreds of times..

Thousands of times..

There is no boring monotonous process if you get results every time you do it.

Until he felt a big change from his muscles.

An old sword within his body responded with this change.

But wishful thinking about changes to the sword is just nonsense.

La'el had already accepted that his life partner was completely useless.

"These signs, I should have reached 10 stars right ?"

This was why he hated Bagtovel tier system, people have to take a test to make sure which tier they are on.

Saw the sunlight was already sneaking into the room.

La'el immediately went out to do his morning run.

Ecstasy in his heart that gushed out after succeeding in the experiment.

It made him once again greeted everyone he met even to strangers.

And just like that, dust flying along with the passage of times.

The cycle of alternation between day and night has occurred 14 times.

La'el only came out of his room while eating or running in the morning and evening.

The cells in his body always get nutrition consistently.

Tree bark has fallen off, the snake sheds its skin.

Like a caterpillar completing metamorphosis process.

La'el felt he was the strongest in the world right now.

It had never been in his wildest minds that he would reach Mid Tier in less than a month after entering the academy.

A mind that is always poisoned by novels expects an old sword to turn into a shining sword.

But as always it's just an imagination that won't happen.
