Quickly coming down the stairs, Chris rushed towards the TV room finding George and Theresa sitting on their cozy sofa, both looking at him with a tindge of anticipation and worry in there gaze.
"Gee.. About time kid, we thought you might've gotten a stroke at one point you know," George spoke in annyoance, clearly trying to hide his worry.
Sighing out relieved that there didn't seem to be many changes, Chris asked in return "How long was I out?"
"Well its 1pm now, so I'd say you've been out for about 5-6 hours.. I gotta tell you, Theresa was very worried about you staying in there for so many hours. So we went inside, but you were unresponisve, you looked like you were in some kind of trance, you even seemed to lightly glow aswell.. You're ok right? Did you perhaps figure something about this strange phenomena?" George asked with a mixture of hope and concern whilst ignoring the wry smile from Theresa that came at the the mention of her name.
"You should know Dear, there have been some development here as well.. Skies TV has reported a lot of strange and primal behaviour from animals the last couple of hours, insisting on either euthanizing or locking them away. There was even reports about other people going crazy or berserk, it seems quite a lot of people have been killed all ready.. After that one child you saw, before going upstairs, there have been more mention of this so called mana as well, what do you think?" Theresa asked with a hint of anxiety, this whole ordeal seemingly taking its toll.
'So they came into the room with me none the wiser.. That could be dangerous if it was someone else' He mused before answering in a thoughtfull tone "Hmm.. with regards to the animals, or humans going crazy I dont really know much.. However, in regards to mana.." Stopping and bringing his fingers to his chin, he began to contemplate on how to explain his findings.
Quickly deciding on telling the whole truth, as he believed it could serve his purposes, whilst also help the two of them relieve some of their worries, he began explaining his last 5 hours.
As their facial expressions changed from one of anticipation to surpise and then to a skeptical look the old couple sat in silence listening to Chris' story.
"This is.. Interesting i suppose.." George said in a small voice, with a little pause after Chris finished explaining his experience in meditation.
"You don't seem to believe me, but that's okay. I can show both of you, it would be a good way to see if my experience is similar to others that might've also figured something out". Chris responded, not at all bothered by their questionable looks, he knew it would sound strange and foreign.
However, Theresa and George, all though skeptical, didn't have anything to lose trying it out. Plus, when they began thinking of all the strange things happening for the last 12 hours, they believed it very well could be true.
Beckoning them to sit with their backs resting on the sofa he began to explain to the old couple how to enter the meditative state. He began by explaining how they needed to relax their whole body and sit as comfortable as possible.
He didn't insist on them sitting crossed legs as it would most likely strain them more. Ming Yong had once told him it usually needed some stretching and regular use of the posture to find it relaxing.
Continuing to lecture George and Theresa in the arts of meditation, Chris tried to be as meticolous as possible. Explaining the finer details and sometimes giving small demonstrations of breathing for them to try out.
It took some time, but after about an hour of explaining they seemed to get the hang of the breathing technique, with their faces softening and muscles relaxing they seemed to have entered the first state.
"I'm feeling a bit more at ease than before, but I'm not really getting that tingely sensation you mentioned nor can I sense that orb limb you explained" Said George in a critic kind of tone, breaking both him and Theresa out of their condition.
"I see.. Well, I came upon the same scenario as you earlier, and its really important to truly empty your mind completely. You have to give your absolute focus to your breath and how it circulates you. After a while in that state it should happen by itself as if the orb has been waiting for you," Chris tried to explain with some difficulty.
He wasn't a teacher, nor did he have a lot of experience in the matter. He'd simply done it once, and all though he had continously meditated since learning Ming Yong's techniques, he knew it shouldn't be too hard to reach the first stage, it was more of a question of how long they could keep their attention and focus.
Whilst Chris was guiding the two of them the clock was ticking away, and after an hour it seemed George had lost most of his patience. Opening his eyes and looking towards Chris he was about to shoot out another critic to what he believed to be a waste of time, but stopped just before as he noticed, in the corner of his eye, Theresa lightly glowing to his side.
"What the..." He said with an incredolous expression, baffled by his wifes' strange glow and condition.
With a small smile Chris asked George: "So.. did you want to tell me something?"
"No.. it was nothing, I guess its just more difficult than I imagined" George answered in a small voice, a little uncomfortable with how he was close to berating Chris just a couple of seconds before.
"It's fine, you'll get the hang of it after a while. The most important thing is to try and maintain focus. But the best way to obtain it is to block out everything else, including the thought of focusing. I know it sounds kind of confusing, but bare with me. Don't compare yourself to Theresa, nor should you think about the reasons behind doing this. Simply shut it all out except for your breathing, as if there is nothing more important than to breath." Reciting some of Ming Yongs' teachings, Chris tried his best to guide George.
And surely enough, after another hour of George trying his utmost and Chris giving pointers to the best of his ability, it seemed to do the trick as he also fell into the same condition.
Now observing them with his mana vision he could closely observe how the mana reacted, the light glow that could be seen was in fact the mana particles from themselves. It looked as though they were reaching out to their long lost friends, wondering if they wanted to come on over, the 'atmospheric mana' answered by slowly walking to them and joining hands back to the mana orb.
He also was able to see their white translucent orb, though it was lesser condensed than his own.
However, he all ready knew this. One of the first things he did when they began their meditation was to see their current mana capacity, and if the orbs was similar to his own.
Though their mana looked less abundant than what he could manage, the orbs was similar in colour and shape. What ended up surprising Chris a bit was when they entered 'the mana absorption state', the mana that came in contact with the white glow seemed to blur a bit when they entered the body, similar to the mana functioning as a shield to obscure his vision of their inner workings.
This gave Chris the idea of how to block out other peoples mana vision, which he could guess others would also learn in due time.
Realising they wouldn't wake up for a while. Chris began to experiment and train with his own mana. Slowly gaining a better understanding of how it works and how he can better utilize it.
