Chapter 44 - In the forest 2

This must be as a result of his unattended wound and the blood he had lost earlier.

The 'Man's breathing was very rapid and unstable, he could die if left alone in this state.

He placed his hands on his forehead and affirmed that he had started to break down with fever that could turn dangerous.

'Damn it' Su cursed under his breath, he had not just risked his life fighting skilled hitmen for this man to come die out here.

He had no motive for saving this man. He just saved him.

He checked his memory for the casual herbs they used for cuts in the Lu Academy and rose to look around the small bush for some.

After quite a search, he managed to get some Feverfew and other green herbs which could help temporarily to subdue the pain.

He marshed them together until he got a pasty texture, squeezed out drops of liquid which he dropped into the 'Man's mouth, carefully pulled open the tied arm and pasted the herbs on the face of the cut.

The 'Man' moved uncomfortably in his sleep.

Su then ripped out another clean cloth out of his own garment and tied back the wound.

After the dressing process, the 'Man's temperature seemed to cool down a bit and his rapid breathing returned to normal.

Su breathed a sigh of relief and sat next to him; hoping to monitor his condition for few more minutes before heading to sleep.

There was another problem, the 'Man' would not stop shivering and recoiling in his sleep.

'He must be cold'

So, Su removed his upper shirt and covered the 'Man' with it.

The shivering subdued.

Now he was left with his inner wear and would start to feel cold himself. The fire was wearing out.

Su stayed up for almost all the night watching the 'Man' and fell asleep at dawn.

He was a light sleeper; for he woke up at the first chirping of the birds.

He pulled off his cloth on the 'Man's body and put it on before looking around to see if they were still in safe perimeters.

He then rose up, stretched and walked a bit into the distance, hoping to find food for them.

He got a rabbit who obviously had lost its way after coming out for food because it was way past dawn and it kept trying to run to the opposite direction.
