Su ran up to him, held him tightly by the other arm and took to his heels. He was determined to save this man.
"After them!"
"do not let them get away!!" The leader's life would be taken if the Prince did not die here today.
Some of the assassins immediately took after them in hot pursuit while the others continued the fight.
It was a bloody scene.
Two figures ran towards the forest with dangerous hitmen behind them.
"RETREAT!!" The leader's voice sounded as loud as when he gave the order to attack.
The man they had come for was not here, spending unnecessary time fighting these people and even losing some of his men was not worth it.
The best action to take was to withdraw from here and join the rest in apprehending the Prince.
He could only hope the men who went after him would get the job done before he got there.
The assassins got the order and vanished as fast as they had appeared. Their opponents were really tough this time.
And so, the bloody war ended. They had all sustained injuries but Su and the Prince were the only ones missing.
After the battle, Lu Yi - Prince Lee's bodyguard managed to make it back to the Palace; barely alive. He had been severely injured.
He was instantly granted an audience with the king when it was evident that he wanted to report about Prince Lee's whereabouts.
"My Liege..." Lu Yi fell on his feet immediately he entered the King's presence
"where is my son?" the King had sensed the atmosphere and so, asked for the most important person to him
"My Liege, this servant deserves death, please kill me" Lu Yi could not even raise his head to look at the dangerously calm King
"do not worry, you will have your wish granted after you have let me know where my son is"
"My Liege..."
"start talking!!" the King was getting very impatient
"My Liege, we were attacked, by masked assassins, I am afraid I do not know where the Prince currently is..."
"what do you mean?, speak properly!" one of the officials present acted as a spokesman for the King
Lu Yi started to recount all that had occurred from when they got to the Inn. He did not dare to keep out anything.
He knew not what information would be needed to find the Prince. Besides, he felt he had failed his Master by not being with him wherever he was right now.
