I'm careful when I slip back into my sleeping quarters, dismissing the maid watching over my son. I gather him in my arms, and he sleepily fusses before settling back down.
Tomorrow, I must meet with the trade settlers, and ensure that we will be able to continue on with their much-needed supplies. Word got out that Quill had to leave the estate to tend to his knight duties, so it made sense that the trade partners he had gathered were a little spooked at his absence.
And since they only ever talked to Quill about the trade, they weren't quite sure what to make of me, the lady of the estate, handling what was considered a man's business.
"Xidorn, I can handle anything they can dish out to me." I tell my sleeping child. He's slowly starting to grow, his hair becoming more like Quill's.
I'm curious to know if Xidorn will take after me or will he take after Quill. Will magick course through him, or will the wolf gene make an appearance?
