Chapter 113 - The Winter Festive

My teeth chatter though the dress does more to keep me warm.

 Children run and play, adults help with the cooking, the smell of various meats and vegetables and even sweets whirling around in the air altogether.

 I should be hungry but since I'm wearing a corset, I feel the horrible ache in my ribs instead. Quill is happily talking to one of the council members, Quill's hair smoothed down but sprinkled with snow, his red tunic tucked under his winter leather pants that are black, boots on.

 He looks so handsome, and I realize that without even planning, we match.

 Quill must have felt my gaze on him, because he stops and looks in my direction, his jade green eyes looking at me with an intense gaze that makes my face warm.

 He steps forward, seeing how I'm struggling walking in the heels that I forced myself to wear, his arms steadying around my waist.
