"I don't understand," I told Lockhart, "He should be waking up by now."
The old wizard smiled sadly at me. "I've done everything in my power to help him, my lady. But sometimes, the mind is the thing that hurts the most. And magick can only do so much." he said, as he patted my shoulder in comfort.
"But what if I do what I did for Isadora?" I asked him, and Lockhart frowned.
"That's a different case scenario, my lady. Isadora hadn't been eating Fae fruit, and her mind was still sane. If you try to heal Caleb's mind, who has endured torturing and the effects of addiction to Fae fruit, I'm not sure you'll be sane in the end." Lockhart had warned, leaving me with Caleb alone.
I think about everything I had endured, whether it be alone, or with Quill. I'd survive losing my mother, I'd survive attacks from the paranormal.
