Chapter 10 - Accident

None of the four people in the cabin knew what to say. The view was simply too strange and dark to form a definite opinion. However, they didn't have much time to think when a loud beeping sound was heard in the cockpit.

Both pilots quickly snapped out of their daze and began to try to fix the problem, but it was easy to tell by the anxious expressions on their faces that it was no good.

"We lost both engines!"

Allete and Arlan had to hold on to the walls to keep from falling off as they watched the captain grab the rudder and pull it back to stabilize the jet.

They had lost complete control of the jet, so they had no choice but to control it themselves. But no matter how hard they tried, the jet began to free-fall.

Both pilots were wearing their respective seat belts, but Allete and Arlan didn't have time to turn around and sit in their chairs, so with the sudden fall they fell to the floor, barely holding on to the furniture on the walls to keep from moving forward.

Soon the jet was coming dangerously close to the island, and with nothing to do, all anyone on board could do was wait for the impact.

Everyone on the island, including humans and creatures, watched as the jet crashed into the mountainside and slid through the forest, taking trees and everything in its path until it came to a stop.

When it stopped, there was complete silence. On the outside, the jet appeared to be intact, at least the central body, as its wings had been destroyed along the way.

Inside the jet, however, everything was a mess.

All the furniture had separated from the walls and was overturned on all sides, and the cockpit had been the part that had suffered the most from the impact since it was the front part.

Inside, the two pilots lay unconscious in front, held in place only by their seatbelts, while Allete lay unconscious on the floor, blood dripping from his head and in a strange and uncomfortable position.

The only one who had remained awake was Arlan, who lay a little further back on the floor, his face smeared with blood.

'Fuck...hurts like hell'

Arlan tried to stand up, propping himself up with his left arm, but failed the moment his arm bent at an odd angle, sending jolts of pain to his brain.

"AGGH!"

His arm was completely broken, and he was unable to move it, on the other hand his head was bleeding more and more, and his body was full of cuts and bruises that would sooner or later turn into contusions.

With his right arm, which hurt but was not broken, Arlan stood up and had to lean against the wall to avoid stumbling.

The blood loss was so great that he felt dizzy and weak, but through the pain, Arlan walked over to Allete and knelt before her.

He was not a doctor and had no knowledge of the subject, so all Arlan could do was put his ear close to Allete's face and try to listen to her breathing.

His heart stopped for several seconds when he heard nothing, but after listening with great concentration, he managed to hear a small, faint breath.

Allete was alive, but barely. It was almost a miracle that they were both still alive.

Arlan got to his feet, grunting from the pain, and approached the two pilots.

As with Allete, he checked to make sure they were alive and decided to get Allete out of the jet first, since she was closer to the exit and thanks to her slender build it would be easier to pull her out.

But what Arlan thought would be an easy task turned out to be much harder than it looked.

Not only had he lost enough blood to suffer from anemia, but with his left arm broken. He had no choice but to drag Allete with his right arm, using his own body as support.

Arlan didn't know how long it took to drag Allete out of the jet, but it was definitely more than 20 minutes.

Knowing that he still had to get the two pilots out, Arlan decided to take a breath before continuing. He had neither the strength nor the energy to help the two men.

After a moment's rest, Arlan stood up, but unfortunately, he lost his balance due to blood loss and fell face first to the ground.

With only one arm to break his fall, Arlan felt several stabbing pains throughout his body and was so dizzy that it was impossible for him to get up.

"I can't fall asleep, I still have to..."

Fighting as long as he could, Arlan lost consciousness and lay on the floor a few feet from the jet's entrance.

All was quiet again.

A few moments later, some bushes moved and a group of uniformed men with firearms and black military fatigues emerged from the forest.

"Search the place" one of the men said.

Four of the group of military men walked ahead of the jet and went inside to investigate. Instead, the man who gave the order approached Allete's unconscious body and took her pulse to check that she was still alive. After making sure she was still alive, he approached Arlan and repeated the process.

Although he had not arrived to see Arlan pull Allete from the jet, he managed to see him collapse and fall unconscious.

The man stood and took a closer look at the jet, on the outside of the plane was a symbol he recognized immediately.

"Fisher"

A short time later, the men who had entered the plane came out and reported to what appeared to be their captain in command.

"Report, only the pilots are accounted for. They are alive, but barely"

The man nodded and made a quick decision.

"Let's go, we can't take everyone. Not after drawing so much attention"

"Understood" the military replied before grabbing Allete and Arlan and leaving the scene.

A few minutes later, strange claw marks slowly and mysteriously appeared on the body of the plane, making a low screeching sound.

Then the metal door of the plane flew off, crashing into several trees, and something seemed to enter the jet as it moved violently.

A few seconds later, screams of pain could be heard coming from the cockpit of the jet before everything fell silent for the last time.
