Chapter 5 - Petty child{5}

The place I was standing at just a moment ago was no longer the same. I was now in a room that looked a little too big even for a castle if you ask me.

The walls were a dark grey with white flaming birds drawn on them, a bed that looked fit for a king, a walk-in closet that was open and painted completely white on the inside, a shelf with different kinds of daggers with colors and shapes that looked weird and a pair of twin daggers were emanating a faint black glow, clothes that looked too small for a teen scattered all over the place, shoes and small hats on the floor, a dark vase with flowers I'd never seen before and a wall length mirror. Looking around once more my eyes stopped at the flowers in the vase.

They looked strange to say the least. There was something odd about them. They looked like a cross between a rose and a dandelion and the petals were a strange color. They looked like a red-purplish color with a faint golden hue that was hard to notice if one didn't pay much attention. They felt soo..Alive, like there was something else in them. I was about touching them when I heard the door slam open and a child not more than eleven or twelve years stomped in and was about slamming the door shut when a pale white hand stopped him.

The hand held the door for a while with the kid refusing to look up at whoever was at the door and it seemed like the person had had enough of waiting for him to look up. One moment the person was holding the door open and the next the boy was in the arms of a woman who had her back to me.

"Mom I've told you to stop picking me up like this. I'm a grown man! C'mon what would my friends say if they saw you doing this all the time? It's quite embarrassing you know."

"Oh hush now child you and I both know you still enjoy me picking you up and carrying you around like a sack of potatoes and besides you're the first 'GROWN MAN' I know that's still this tiny and weighs no more than half a bag of apples and you only have one friend who you don't hate and want to tear to shreds. Now tell me child, what happened?"

"But moooommmm, you said you didn't mind me having just one friend now you're making it sound like I don't want friends it's just that those kids are irritating and so annoying they make me want to pass out every time they go on rambling about incessant nonsense chatter that are mostly just rumors created solely to stir trouble. It's tiring to be around them."

"Now now boy don't change the subject, what happened?!"

"Fine you win this time. They were picking on her again and she just stood there doing nothing mom I had to help her. She's too weak to even fight back and she's supposed to be the older one between us both and I just couldn't stand seeing her soo helpless."

"So you just had to use the nightmare daggers huh? Boy how many times do I have to tell you to be careful with those things? One day you'll end up hurting yourself or even worse, you might hurt her with those things."

"But I had to use them since they did it first. They had cut her with daggers even though they were ordinary daggers they still made her bleed so I had to make them pay. Something can't go for nothing you know. Besides I'm that much petty. You've said it yourself before that I'm the most petty person you've ever met so it was kinda expected that I'd do something a little more harmful to them"

As the conversation went on I began to study the duo. The boy had a head full of phlox-purple colored hair in a low bun with a black and white streak donning each sides of his head, his eyes were a slightly lighter shade of the color of his hair and they looked brighter and he was dressed rather simpler than the other people I've seen here. Loose dark pants with a white button-down, a black cape with dark red sigils that looked like they were swirling with the slightest movement of the boys body and a black crown emitting a faint dark mist sat atop his head. The first two buttons on his shirt were undone and there was a peculiar looking necklace around his neck. The woman had yet to turn around so I walked towards her to get a closer look and I got the shock of my life. She looked like a goddess. Pale white skin that looked smooth, soft, and moisturized. Light grey eyes, rosy lips, thin eyebrows, a slim neck, and a tattoo like mark on her neck that started off just below her jawline and disappeared into her clothes. When she took her robe off I was even more shocked. She was wearing the kind of pants the men here wore with a red button down shirt. She was a little on the thick side with a curvy hour-glass figure that made even me a little jealous. Her hair however was not a single color. It was a mixture between phlox purple, a dark smaragdine and a light purple that blended surprisingly well and was braided in two loose buns that went slightly below her knees. I was standing close to the window by the right side when here eyes suddenly turned pure white and she looked straight at me. I held my breath in and didn't blink with my heart pounding heavily in my chest. She looked at me for a few minutes and whispered to the boy to go get his father and tell him to hurry back that there was something in the room. When the boy turned and left without questioning his mother I knew I'd been found out but how? Every other person in this place couldn't see me so how did she catch me? I was panicking on the inside when she walked straight at me and stopped a few feet away from where I was standing, stretched her hand forward and felt around the air with a frown on her face.

"You know for someone who isn't from this kingdom you sure do know how to sneak around undetected little child. You even managed to get past me for a few minutes, I must say that is utterly amazing and fresh. For the first time in a very long time someone got past me and it is a child no more than twenty one summers. Speak, what is your name child? Do not be frightened for I know you mean no harm seeing as you have been here for a while and you only watched me converse with my son" she was talking to me as if she could see me as clear as day and it kinda freaked me out a bit but I didn't want to seem rude so I bowed to her instead of speaking directly into her face even though she was way taller than I was.

" my name is Samaelia ma'am and I'm honestly sorry for invading your sons privacy, I didn't mean to do that at all I just found myself in this strange land."

"Hmm. Interesting. You dress rather strangely from us, your hair is different and you hold a welcoming yet weird aura that is both pleasing and confusing. It seems you are not from our world or era. Come with me and don't bow your head when talking to me next time little one."

And just like that I followed her out the room. We took many confusing twists and turns and went down a long flight of stairs that seemed to take forever to end and went out through a red door into a giant garden.
