Eden looked at his sister in awe. She had only been born a week ago yet he still wondered how life will be when she grows up. She reminded him of his previous younger sister from his past life however even he could tell they were complete opposites.
His previous sister was a social butterfly while the sister of this world he was currently living in seemed cold however he didn't mind it. He ran around the house joyfully and searched for things to do with his sister when she grows up.
Eden had never been so excited in his life.
In the meantime, Eden's father, Adam Alaister, taught him how to hold a sword and how to use it. It wasn't hard for Eden as he had some amount of training in his past life however a sword and a katana is different. Eden quickly realised the difference and soon he became extremely adept in his swordsmanship.
Eden had the same strength as a normal 18-year-old in this world. In this world, people were much more stronger because the world wasn't like the peaceful world Eden had previously lived in.
"Eden, you're really strong now so make sure to protect Elaine." Adam told his son with a smile on his face. Eden smiled back at his father with his eyes glimmering in the sun.
"Yes I will!"
The sun soon set so Adam and Eden both went back into the house where Eden's mother and sister were both waiting for him. Eden went up to his room while his parents and his sister stayed downstairs.
"It's his birthday tomorrow." Leona said. Adam looked at her and smiled.
"I've got something planned for him. How's my Elaine?"
"She's been sleeping all day so I got a lot of the housework done. Food's on the table so you can eat whenever. I'm going to sleep." Leona said as she held her daughter in her arms and went upstairs to their room.
Adam sat at the table eating his food. He didn't have the usual pleasant smile on his face. The clouds became darker outside and rain started to fall from them. The droplets hit the glass windows and make a somewhat loud yet soothing sound as Adam ate his food in peace.
The morning soon came and Leona ran downstairs. She had left Elaine but she was still sleeping soundly. She ran as if her life depended on it and the person who was at the front door was her husband, Adam.
"Where were you, Adam?" Leono asked. Adam instantly answered her.
"I went to get his present." Adam said to Leona. Leona and Adam both then heard slow footsteps on the stairs. "Oh…Eden…you're awake."
"Ah! Let me get breakfast ready!" Leona quickly scurried to the kitchen and started getting breakfast ready.

A few hours later, the whole village was preparing for Eden's birthday celebration. It was his second birthday yet he was extremely strong and intelligent and with his abilities he had successfully won over the hearts of many of the village people.
The village wasn't particularly large however because of its small size and population, everyone was aquatinted with one another. The small village was practically a family.
Your second birthday wasn't something that was usually celebrated however the village had celebrated it only because it was Eden.
Eden watched the sunset as everyone else was still partying. He lay down on the green grass and stared at the sky. The sky was gold and soon it became darker and darker. When the last of the sun had gone, the starry sky replaced the golden sun. He could see all the types of stars glimmering in the night sky. He wasn't able to see such things in his past life because the cities were too bright and covered the stars. In his past life, you could only see a few stars however in this world he could see everything, from the stars to the planets billions of miles apart from each other yet they all seemed to be close.
Suddenly, a person appeared next to him. The person startled Eden as he thought that no one had followed him. He didn't recognise the person so he tried to slowly distance himself from the person. Eden then looked at the person and felt that he had to remember this person so he did.
The person was a girl around his age. She wore a white and yellow checkered summer dress. He blinked a few times to confirm what he saw was true. The summer dress that the girl was wearing was something from his past life and couldn't be found in this world. However, Eden realised that there was a possibility that there were summer dresses like the one the girl was wearing.
The girl had a sweet smile on her face as she lay on the grass and looked up at the starry sky. The girl had pale white skin just like Eden's mother. She also had long golden hair and deep blue eyes.
"Who are you?" Eden asked the girl.
The girl's head slowly turned towards Eden. She stared at Eden for a moment and then smiled again.
"I'm Aurora, what's your name?" The girl asked. Her voice was soft and pleasant to hear.
"I'm Eden." Eden replied.
Where is she from?… Eden thought as he and the girl stared at each other. The girl had a confused expression on her face as she stared at Eden.
"EDEN!" A man around Eden's father's age was standing in the distance calling Eden. "The wolves are attacking!"
Eden then looked at where the girl was however she wasn't there anymore. Eden didn't have time to wonder where she went because what was on his mind now was the wolves.
His father had warned him about the wolves. The wolves weren't different to the ones from his world but this world's wolves were more bloodthirsty and powerful. The reason these wolves were more powerful was that they were intelligent. These wolves are able to strategise and outsmart normal humans.
Eden ran towards the village which was now in flames. Fire devoured the houses as the wolves devoured the people.
Eden's heart was beating faster and faster by the second to the point where he could feel it almost burst out of his body. He calmed himself down however his heart was still pounding faster and faster. Eden ran to his house to see if his mother was there. His mother had left early because of Elaine and Eden's mother and sister were his top priority now. Although he did wonder if his father would survive he needed to first see if his mother and sister were.
Eden burst open the door.
"MOM! ELAINE!"
"Eden!" His mother screamed as she ran down the stairs. She then hugged Eden the moment she saw him and checked to see if he had any injuries. "Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?"
"The wolves…"
"Yes I know Eden, it's fine your father can hold them off." Leona quickly reassured Eden which made Eden calm down however he couldn't help but still worry.
"Where's Elaine?!" Eden asked his mother.
"She's upstairs sleeping. Go protect your sister Eden."
Eden then ran upstairs to his sister. He found his sister sleeping soundly on his parents' bed. He then lay down next to her and after a few minutes, he fell asleep next to her.
Leona sat down at the table with her hands on her forehead. She didn't speak or move and stayed there motionless.
The door suddenly burst open and Leona jumped up and slowly walked towards the door. Adam Alaister slowly walked into the house while limping. There were multiple scars on his torso and his clothes were ripped.
"I came out unscathed." Adam said before chuckling at his own sarcasm.
"Adam!" Leona squealed before running to her husband.
She then helped him to a bed in the living room. Adam lay down on the bed and looked up at his wife. Leona hovered her hands above Adam and started to whisper to herself. She closed her eyes and concentrated on something. Soon Adam's wounds were glowing green and slowly closed. There weren't any major injuries so Adam looked as if nothing had happened to him however if it wasn't for his ripped shirt then no one would be able to tell.
"What happened?" Leona asked Adam.
"They weren't any normal wolves. Luckily, they weren't as smart so we were able to overpower them." Adam said. His eyes weren't lying and were serious. His face was almost emotionless. "We can't live here for long."
"Where will we go?" Leona asked her husband. "There's no place for us anymore."
Leona looked down at the ground as tears slowly started to drip from her eyes. Adam then sat up and held Leona in his arms.
"We could always teach Eden and he could be our little guardian." Adam said trying to lighten the mood.
"They can't find out, Adam." Leona said. "They won't be able to survive if they find out."
Adam looked at Leona and smiled.
"They will be able to survive, after all, they're my kids."
"They're my kids as well."
"You seem to not have much faith in them." Adam said. Leona then looked up at Adam. Her face became brighter however it quickly dimmed as she looked back down at the floor.
"How could I not worry for my children?"
Adam quickly realised that he didn't want to risk his marriage and hugged Leona.
"It'll be alright."

I woke up from my sleep. I couldn't tell how much time had passed however what I did know was that I had woken up from the best sleep I have ever had.
I found my sister sleeping next to me. I fixed her blanket before getting off of the bed and heading downstairs.
"Eden?" My father spoke. He was sitting on the wooden dining table and seemed to be drinking something.
"What are you drinking?" I asked my father. My father looked confused for a second before looking at the liquid in his hands and then looking back at me.
"Oh, this? This is a magic potion for healing."
"Magic?"
I have heard of magic many times in my past life. There were many things based on the subject however this was the first time anyone had spoken of it while not lying.
"Your mother made it." My father added. "She's gotten pretty good at making these."
"I'm still not allowed to run around the house." I cried. My father laughed loudly and sounded like a siren from my past life.
"Haha! These potions can't save you if you're dead!" My father joked.
Who jokes about death so randomly?… I thought as I stared at my father who was still laughing.
"Eden, get ready, we're going somewhere." I knew this was something important.
I don't know exactly what my father meant by ready but I don't think it was something literal, probably he meant it metaphorically.
My father and I walked towards the forest. The forest was a place everyone was forbidden to enter and soon it was named the 'Forbidden Forest'.
I have heard the name many times in my past life however they were in video games or movies. This was my first time entering a place known as the 'Forbidden Forest'.
We stood at the perimeter of the forest. I stared at the tall green trees towering over us.
"Aren't we supposed to celebrate Decimus's birthday today?" I asked my father. I looked up at my father whose eyes were transfixed on the trees.
"Celebrations can wait, Eden."
My father wasn't looking at the trees.
He was looking beyond it. He was looking at the darkness in the forest.
"What are you looking at?" I asked my father. My father didn't give me an immediate response. He then turned his head and looked down at me.
"Eden, I will train you as much as I can here for the next month."
I was almost confused. I couldn't understand what my father meant or was he actually serious?
My father then started to walk into the forest. He was around a couple of feet in the forest before he looked back at me.
"Aren't you coming?"
I couldn't do anything but follow my father.
