The realization shook her and then steadied her. It was as though she’d been restless for a long time, trying to understand something that she didn’t fully understand and wasn’t fully aware of troubled her until that moment, and now that she was aware of it, it finally gave her peace.

“You look caught up in your head and thoughts.” And looked up into his eyes, sure that the intensity of all that she felt reflected in her eyes, and shook her head.

“I suppose I must be.” Was all she said and deciding that it was time for her to take a break, she drew to her full height and prepared for her escape,

“Cookies and Lemonade, Alex. I have cookies and Lemonade.” She said in a dreamlike and fled. It might have been an act of cowardice, but if she didn’t leave at that moment, then she was going to turn into a puddle right in front of the man.

And she could not have that. She just could not have that.
