The remaining volunteers gathered around the instructor officer, their eyes fixated on her as she prepared to unveil the advanced weapons and devices that would aid them in their battle against the relentless monsters.
"Listen carefully," she began, her voice commanding attention. "Within this training facility, we have access to different advanced weaponry and high-tech devices designed to give us the upper hand against our formidable adversaries."
Her hand motioned towards a concealed area of the facility, where an array of gleaming firearms, shining armor, and intricate contraptions awaited their eager exploration.
"First, we have the NoVa-To1 Rifle, capable of emitting highly concentrated beams of energy that can pierce through even the toughest monster hides. Its precision and power make it an invaluable asset in our fight."
The instructor continued her explanation, guiding the volunteers' attention towards another weapon displayed in the arsenal.
"Next, we have the Disruptor Sniper Rifle," she said, pointing towards the sleek and deadly firearm. "This weapon is particularly effective against the monsters due to its powerful disruptive capabilities. It can disable their energy and disrupt their movements, giving us a significant advantage in combat."
She went on to describe how the Disruptor Sniper Rifle worked, emphasizing its unique energy charging mechanism. "Before using the rifle, you'll need to charge it with energy. Once fully charged, it releases a concentrated burst that can penetrate the monster's defenses and incapacitate it momentarily. Use it strategically to disable their abilities or create openings for coordinated attacks."
The instructor officer introduced a remarkable digital device that would aid the volunteers in tracking and analyzing the movements of the monsters.
"Introducing the Monster Tracker," she announced, revealing a sleek handheld device with a high-resolution screen. "This device is designed to trace and monitor the movements of the monsters during our engagements."
She went on to explain how the Monster Tracker utilized advanced sensors and algorithms to detect and analyze the unique energy signatures emitted by the monsters. "By scanning their energy patterns, the tracker can accurately locate and track the monsters in real-time, providing us with vital information about their positions, numbers, and behavior."
The volunteers were amazed as they witnessed this kind of device for the first time, realizing the immense advantage it would provide in their battles.
"Furthermore," the Instructor officer continued, "the Monster Tracker has a built-in communication system that allows for seamless coordination among team members. You can share crucial information, relay strategic plans, and update each other on the evolving battlefield situation, ensuring optimal teamwork and efficiency. To activate communication, simply press the button on the right side of the device."
As the instructor continued to show the equipment, devices, and weapons, Mark said to Jhohan and said, "Now it will be easier for us to hunt those monsters and enter the facility, won't it?"
Just as he was about to mention the distribution of the new devices, Mark realized he had been speaking to himself all along. He quickly scanned the group, hoping to find Jhohan by Captain Bron's side, but she was nowhere to be found.
"Where did she go?" Mark muttered to himself. "I have to tell her about the plans that keep flowing in my mind. It would be much better if I share them with her and listen to her ideas, so that I can prepare better for the mission tonight."
He looked around but couldn't find Jhohan. "But first, I need to learn how to use these new devices and weapons so I can use them later," he added.
Mark was amazed by the armored suits he saw behind the transparent glass installed on the wall.
"I have lived in a successful and competitive city, but it has made me ignorant of the capabilities of this place. How quickly they can make significant adjustments like this, despite the surprise attacks. Perhaps they were already prepared for such a situation," he said to himself as he walked, taking in the sight of the armored suits on his right side.
Mark spent several minutes searching for Jhohan, but he couldn't find her. He continued his search.
"Hey Mark!" Captain Bron called out, catching Mark's attention. He turned around to see Captain Bron approaching him.
"Why did you leave? You need to learn how to use the equipment we'll be using later. It seems like you're looking for something important. What is it?" Captain Bron asked.
Mark smiled and touched his head. "Nothing important, Captain," he replied. "I'm just looking for Jhohan."
"Oh, I forgot to tell you," Captain Bron said. "She mentioned that she was going to the bathroom and that I should help you learn how to fight and with your training, since she'll be retrieving something. I didn't quite understand what she meant, though."
After hearing Captain Bron's words, Mark had a sinking feeling that Jhohan was hiding something from him.
"Where's the bathroom, Captain? We need to find her immediately," Mark said urgently.
"Just tell me where the bathroom is," Mark replied, his worry growing.
"Okay, just follow me," Captain Bron said, leading the way.
Mark ran after him, anxious to find Jhohan.
"Spectre! Spectre!"
Jhohan heard Mark's voice echoing in her ears. The view around her started to slowly diminish, as if there was something floating in her eyes. Her vision continued to grow weaker, and she felt dizzy as she walked, leaning against the wall to maintain her balance. Her body weakened automatically, and her knees gave way, causing her to collapse on the ground.
"Call the medic! We need medical support here," Captain Bron urgently exclaimed.
"Spectre! Can you hear me?" Mark asked, holding her.
"What happened to her?" the Volunteers murmured.
"She just suddenly fell to the ground," a voice coming from them.
All she could hear was an echoing in her ears. She fought against her failing body, her sight growing blurry. "No, this isn't supposed to happen. I already injected the antidote. Why am I still weak? Why can't I move my feet? I feel numb," she questioned herself while looking into her left hand.
"Spectre, please listen. Just control your emotions, like you always tell me to do," Mark knelt in front of her, holding her shoulders.
"There are tears in my eyes. Why do I feel like crying?" she wondered, wiping her eyes. "Blood? Why? What's happening to me?" she murmured to herself.
"Ah! It's blood!" one of the girls shouted, noticing the blood flowing from Jhohan's eyes. The room erupted in clamor as everyone reacted to the shocking sight.
Her eyes turned red as the blood covered them.
"Spectre! Spectre!" Mark's voice echoed in her mind before she lost consciousness.
The medical team arrived, rushing towards Jhohan's fallen body.
"What happened to her, Captain Bron?" the female medic asked.
"We don't exactly know what happened. She just fell to the ground," Captain Bron replied.
"Excuse me, sir."
The medic placed her fingers on Jhohan's neck, checking for a pulse. "Help me," she instructed her team as they carefully turned Jhohan's body.
She began performing CPR.
"What's going on?" Mark asked, his voice filled with concern.
"She has no pulse," the medic responded.
Mark couldn't comprehend what was happening as he watched the medical team trying to revive Jhohan.
They attached a device to Jhohan's wrist. "No pulse, no pulse. Please continue providing chest compressions and rescue breaths," a voice from the device instructed. They used an AED and prepared to cut Jhohan's clothes. "Please standby, shock delivered," the device announced.
"No pulse, no pulse..."
Everyone stopped after the repeated attempts.
"Why are you stopping? Just keep trying!" Mark pleaded, his voice filled with desperation.
"Please don't stop!" Tears began welling up in his eyes.
He pushed the doctor aside and continued his attempts to revive her.
"No, no..."
"Mark, please stop. She's gone," Captain Bron said, his voice filled with sorrow.
"Please, let me!" Mark pushed Captain Bron and started punching any soldiers who tried to intervene, determined to save Jhohan.
"Let me!"
Brenzo stepped forward towards Mark's position, who was still punching the soldiers.
"Please stop, Mark. Don't make me do this. You have to accept that she's dead," Brenzo said, standing in front of Mark, blocking his way.
"You! You did something to her!" Mark responded angrily, wiping his tears.
"Get out of my way while I still have my mercy," Mark warned him.
"I did nothing wrong, Mark. It was just part of the training. Yes, I admit that I insulted and disrespected both of you, but it's not enough to give me the intention to... I'm sorry for my actions," Brenzo said.
"You bastards! I said get out of my way!" Mark quickly charged towards Brenzo, punching him and causing him to be thrown against the wall. The impact created a crack in the concrete,
"This one has strength similar to Jhohan. I can't match his strength, but as the assigned senior officer, I have to stop him," Brenzo said to himself.
Brenzo pushed himself off the concrete wall, causing the crack to produce small stone debris.
Brenzo charged back towards Mark, ready to engage in a fight. But just before his fist could land, he heard a voice that made him stop.
"Let him!" Captain Bron said.
"We can't stop him. Let him do what he wants," he added.
Mark walked towards Jhohan, still crying. He knelt down beside her and started trying to revive her.
"Please, Spectre!" He cried.
"Why did you hide it from me?"
He shouted, veins popping on his forehead. He turned around.
"You! Bastard! You're responsible for this. Your selfish intentions pushed you to kill her," Mark said to Brenzo.
Brenzo felt scared as he saw Mark's red eyes. "No, Mark."
Mark walked slowly, anger emanating from his entire being.
Captain Bron blocked his way, pointing a gun at Mark.
"Mark, stop it. We can't do anything anymore. Besides, you should blame me because I allowed Jhohan to fight Brenzo. It was my intention to bring both of you here so I could see your capabilities. It's my fault, Mark. Please stop," Captain Bron said.
"Please, Mark, I don't want to shoot you," Captain Bron pleaded as Mark continued walking.
But Mark kept walking.
Many soldiers arrived and surrounded Mark.
As Mark got closer to Captain Bron and raised his fist, just before his punch could land, someone shot him, causing him to feel dizzy, lose his balance, and fall to the ground.
