Chapter 17 - GIVE HER A BREAK II

"Oh god! This is a disaster!"

Sumire blurted out loud once covering her mouth in disbelief. Who would have thought they will be caught by the paparazzi!

Her eyes stare at the photo that is hot and top 1 trending right now on social media.

"Indeed. That's why I'll call a press tomorrow at 10 a.m. to clarify the issue. So tonight, prepare yourself." Eiryss said in a professional tone and preceded, "Before I drop this call, I just want you to know that the President is not mad about the issue. Goodnight, sweetie."

Sumire could no longer utter a word when Eiryss finally dropped the call. Her mind is in turmoil right now and her issue is now quickly spreading all over the world.

"Fuuuuuccckkkkk!!!!" she squealed out of frustration.

Her plan to emote all night was completely thwarted. The maiden ended up her night sleeping soundly early on the sofa, her eyes swollen and embracing the teddy bear. On the table was a sticky note attached to the whiskey bottle with a written schedule.

"11-19-25. Mourn over my broken heart."

While Sumire is busy playing the role of sleeping beauty in her home, Klauss is demanding an explanation from Mort, his Boss in the MDA building after he sends Sumire to her private home.

He strides back and forth in front of his Boss and is completely restless.

"Where did you get that Pediculus humanus, Boss? That bloodsucking organism is now putting your name in unnecessary spotlight!"

Klauss, provoked in anger, asked his Boss. Mort was silent and looking at the picture of him and Sumire together on his laptop and did not pay the slightest attention to Klauss who was already flustered in red out of anger. His Boss caught the attention of ordinary people, especially their foes. Other mafia organizations may think that the maiden is his Boss' weakness.

Suddenly, the door of Mort's office opened, and there emerge a young man with a huge playful grin on his lips that only added to Klauss' load of stress when he saw him.

He made a dramatic grand entrance.

20 years old. The young fella stood six-foot-five. He had a well-built body physique, bigger than a normal teenage boy. Tanned and he had a pair of golden eyes. He wears a simple white shirt and jeans. His dark wavy hair is wetly disheveled that matches his gorgeous face.

"You finally showed up," Klauss said and rolled his eyes. A hint of irritation can be heard in his tone

"This old man called me." The young man replied pointing Mort's direction who was busy scrolling and reading the comments on the laptop.

"I knew it! You just came back here to add the trouble we're facing today." Klauss exclaimed that his face twitched angrily and his right hand formed into a fist. 'I might smack someone's head tonight...'

"Uh! uh! Not this time. I'm here for good reason and pure intention out of the goodness of my heart." He dramatically clutches his chest where his heart is.

The young man turns his back on Mort and faced Klauss. His face quickly darkened, chin up and lip mischievously raised. 'These ancients are truly hopeless without me! Come on! Bow after me.' he grinned.

The glint of deviltry and corruption flashes in his golden eyes on the contrary to what he says. 'Pure intention my ass!' Klauss hissed on his mind while madly staring at the young fella.

He ignored Klauss' existence who was now burning in anger and went to Mort's direction and shamelessly read the comments as well.

"When did you learn to use social media, old man? Who taught you? I'm certain it wasn't Klauss. He even beat the ancients with his naivetè in these kind of things," chill out, the young tanned man asked Mort and at the same time flashes a mischievous smile at Klauss. How he loves to tease his silver-haired nanny!

Klauss, on the other hand, badly wanted to have a brawl with him and choke this kid he once pampered, to death. If his eyes could kill, this young fella would have been long dead.

The young man ignore Klauss once more, preceded to read, and found bizarre words from the comment section.

"Do you even understand the newly invented words made by millennials today?" The young man added and cast an incredulous stare at Mort.

Mort looked at the young man who once they have found in the abandoned asylum had now grown up into a very fine handsome man.

"Am I really that old?" Mort asked and cast a cold eye.

"Yes." Straightforward, the young man answered.

"How rude of you. He raised you. How could you say he's an old man?" Klauss butts in and defends Mort. He is now approaching their place.

"Don't be mad. You're old too." The young man added, while eyes darted at Sumire's face in the captured photo.

Klauss was about to pinch the young man's ear when Mort faked a cough. "Narco, I want you to eradicate all the pictures of Sumire and me that circulate on the internet, news, and on anyone's phone who have saved it. Do it clean. Leave no traces." The hunk man said in an authoritative and commanding tone.

"Is it possible to remove the saved pictures of you two on their mobile phones? There are billions of people on this planet. I would agree if the photo existed on the internet and news will be easily deleted." Klauss said matching with hand gestures.

"As expected from an old man," Narco grinned, teasing Klauss again. "Deleting these saved photos on their phones without them knowing is as easy as committing genocide," Narco said and arrogantly smirk, sitting down on the sofa, placing his legs on the table and his arms crossed on his chest.

"Then tell me exactly how you're going to do it." Klauss raised an eyebrow at Narco.

Narco stood up and went back to Mort's table again who was still busy looking at the stolen shots for the last time before Narco would obliterate its existence on the internet.

Narco rudely picked up the laptop, "I might need this," he added and brought it to the sofa.

'This kid...' Mort firmly closed his eyes and sharply inhaled. His jaw clenched, hands form into fists on the table and wanted to throw the expensive lampshade at Narco just sighed heavily at the kid's audacity and insolent behavior that Klauss smirked at.

'It is your fault for spoiling this brat. Now, suffer. ' Klauss evilly said in his mind.

Narco sat back comfortably on the sofa and began fiddling with Mort's laptop. While Narco was busy, eyes darted on the laptop's screen, Mort slowly approached and stood behind him.

"How's your school? You didn't cause any trouble, aren't you? Do you have failing grades? When's the parents' meeting?" Mort asked Narco one question after another. Klauss, on the other hand, who was eager to ask questions about Sumire, just calmed down on the side, listening.

After a short second, Narco replied. "Why are you asking? You hired people to spy on me, and monitor my activities at school. Do you want us to have a heart-to-heart talk between father and son?" Narco sarcastically asked his so-called father.

Klauss was about to crack into laughter at Narco's sardonic response when Mort's cold gaze pierce him. His mouth left hanging open in the air and quickly diverted his attention to the record notebook.

"This is normal between family," Mort said completely cool, calm, and collected.

"Are we even normal?" Narco asked making Mort fall into silence. Mort didn't speak anymore and just went back to his table and sat there, opened his cellphone.

When Klauss feel the deafening silence intensify, he decided to break the silence that had reigned inside the office.

"Speaking of normal. Did Sumire sleep well after she gave us trouble? That vixen..." Klauss asked in a sarcastic tone, but the two men with him inside were still silent.

"You sound like you loathe her. Do you hate her?" Narco asked without glancing at Klauss on his back while quickly pressing the laptop's keyboard.

"Of course! That pterodactyl should have extinct after the Cretaceous period. Why does she still live in this era!" Klauss murmured to himself making Narco grin mischievously.

"Second question, is she also mad at you?" Narco added.

"The feeling is mutual." Klauss quickly replied that Narco abruptly turned to him once rub off his chin.

"I see, I see. For my last question. Do you believe in the saying 'The more you hate the more you love?' "

Narco asked. Now the rascal is teasingly grinning from ear to ear. Klauss felt his hair stood up all over his body, creep crawled on his skin, and shivered violently. His body involuntarily shakes at the ridiculous idea and looks badly at Narco who had a teasing smile on his lips.

"Hey, you better take it back. I let pass all of your mess and rudeness but not this time."

Klauss said angrily but before Narco could utter a word, they heard a loud crack coming from Mort's direction.

Narco and Klauss met Mort's darkened face and they looked together at the wrecked phone Mort was holding. The leading new brand cellphone in the market had crashed in a single grip. And there Klauss realized how much danger Narco had brought upon the words he uttered and it was too late to take it back.
