Chapter 4 - First Encounter

The woman cautiously made her way down the dimly lit corridor, trying to keep her footsteps as quiet as possible. Every little sound echoed loudly, making her acutely aware of how exposed she was. She wished she could see more, but the darkness was overwhelming.

As she walked, she kept her eyes peeled for any signs of the other players. She didn't want to get caught off guard, but she also didn't want to be the one to make the first move. After all, this was a game of survival, and she knew that anyone could be a potential threat.

As she turned a corner, she saw a figure standing in the distance. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized that it was one of the other players. The figure was facing away from her, looking down the opposite end of the corridor. She could see the person's shoulders rising and falling with each breath, and she knew that they were alive.

The woman crept closer, trying to get a better look at the person's face. But before she could get too close, she stepped on a loose tile, causing it to clack against the floor. The figure spun around, eyes widening in surprise.

It was a man, with short brown hair and piercing blue eyes. He had a look of fear and confusion on his face, but he quickly regained his composure and raised his fists in a defensive stance.

The woman quickly raised her hands, showing that she meant no harm. "I'm not here to fight," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "I'm a player, just like you."

The man lowered his guard slightly, but he still looked wary. "How do I know you're not lying?" he asked, his voice tense.

The woman shrugged. "You don't," she said. "But we're in this together, whether we like it or not. We have to work together if we want to survive."

The man seemed to consider her words for a moment before nodding. "Okay," he said. "But we need to keep moving. The longer we stay in one place, the more vulnerable we are."

The woman agreed, and the two of them set off down the corridor together. They moved quickly, trying to cover as much ground as possible. They didn't talk much, but they kept a watchful eye on each other, ready for any sign of danger.

As they walked, the woman couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. It was like a presence was following them, lurking in the shadows. She tried to tell herself that it was just her imagination, but the feeling persisted, making her skin crawl.

Suddenly, they heard a sound coming from one of the nearby rooms. It sounded like someone was screaming. The woman and the man exchanged a look before rushing towards the sound, knowing that one of the other players was in trouble.
