"What do you say, Alexio?" Mars asked as he watched me. "Do you consent to take my power? Will you allow me the rebirth that I seek?"
"Before I agree, can you tell me why? Why now? What made you choose this time to be reborn?"
"I could say that it's simply because after so many millennia of living as I am now, I am ready to move on, to try life as a mortal, but I would be lying if I said that was the only reason."
"Then why?" I asked him again.
"Because I simply cannot let the others get away with what they've done. I might be a god of war, but that does not mean I agree with anything and everything that leads to a battle. Contrary to belief, I hate to see people die, but I am good at what I do. The state the others left the underworld in was wrong, and you need my help." I could see anger seething in Mars' glowing eyes. He was angry, and I was glad it wasn't directed toward me.
