Well, it was officially my birthday now. I was born just after midnight, but I was asleep at that time, so it was the first thing in the morning when I started to celebrate, or rather, when Westin started to celebrate it.
"Good morning, and happy birthday." Westin said as he woke me up that morning. His hand was stroking me gently across the side of my face.
I was still tired and bleary eyed, but I knew what was going on. I could tell that he had gotten up extra early to start preparing things for me. The first thing that I noticed, other than his extremely handsome face in front of me, was the smell of coffee coming from down the hall.
"Hmmm, mmhmm." I stretched, a little exaggeratedly, as I looked at his face so close to mine. "Good morning." My voice was clear, thankfully. It would be a bummer if my words were still lost in the fog of sleep. "What time is it?"
