'On three we move in. Is everyone ready?' I sent the message to the others mentally, knowing that this was the last chance that we would have to talk until the impending chaos had settled down.
'Yes.' They all answered me in quick succession. They were determined and focused. I knew that they were likely scared, but they were all pushing past that. They were doing what they knew they had to.
'Good.' I said as I tilted my head and leaned closer to the light. I was waiting for the last of the dogs that Ashle had created. There were only twenty-four people and eleven dogs in the light, there was just one more to go. When I saw them, I started the count down. 'One. Two.' Even though they weren't speaking, I could feel the tension coursing through all of my companions, my friends and family that were here to risk their lives. 'Three.' It was time to go. As soon as the word crossed the mental communication lines, we were all on the move.
