Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 - New world, new me

Deep in the ocean, the beautiful mermaid swam down the dark depths taking a few lefts and rights. Her movement seemed erratic, but her calm expression remained the same. After deciding a certain depth, the dark veil was suddenly lifted, revealing a beautifully lit world underwater.

Pouting, she swam through the shield that protected their world from humankind.

"Stupid hybrid. How dare he reject me! I even got him a gift yet he refused to come along with me," she grumbled as she swam fast towards the huge white marble castle. The huge hallways were lit up by glowing flowers and sea anemones, making it a beautiful sight.

As she swam through, a few mermen gazed at her.

Lida flicked her long ink-blue hair behind with a deep grin. 'see, so many mermen want me yet that stupid hybrid rejected me again! Hmph, I'll take care of you,' she swam into a huge section of the castle that was protected by huge warriors.

An elderly merman swam out of the room with a bright expression on his face.

"how's he?"

"Princess, your father has recovered… but sadly." He lowered his head anxiously.

"What is it?" she anxiously gazed at his wrinkled face.

"He seemed to have lost his memory. General did not even know where he was… I have given him sleeping herbs. Please take good care of him,"

Lida broke out in a bright smile. "Oh, that's so great~"

"Princess?"

"I'll take care of him. This better stay between us. no one must know about my father's situation" she glared and swam in.

On the huge bed lay a middle-aged merman with ink-black hair. He seemed to be mumbling something under his breath.

"What father?" she moved close curiously.

"Kui…kill…" he grumbled under his breath.

Lida pouted. "you're still thinking of killing him! I told you I chose him!"

The last time she swam up curiously to the surface. that was when she saw him. Kui, the young hybrid. She was smitten that second. Like a stupid fish, she had run back to her father to get his approval for marriage.

But of course, her father rejected the young hybrid.

Not only that, he sent his trusted shark warriors to attack the young man.

The last she saw was Kui's small wooden boat tipped and his other companion was bitten by the sharks.

Right after that, her father fell ill and did not wake up until now.

"The doctor just said you forgot everything. How do you still remember him ah?" pouting she combed his long hair.

Suddenly gasping, he sat up on the bed.

"Father?" she curiously peered at his face.

"w-who are you?"

"You really don't remember?" she smiled. "I'm your daughter. Your only and only darling. You love me so much that you actually allowed me to marry a hybrid. Don't you remember?"

He nodded hesitantly whilst massaging his head.

'Yes! Finally, I made him agree!' she gleefully screamed on the inside. "You have to rest, father." She pushed him down on the bed and tucked the beautiful green feather-like sheets that encompassed the bed to cover him from the cold current. "I'll inform our Majesty! He will be ecstatic to hear you are up and swimming,"

Laughing, she swam up in a hurry.

On the bed, Dai Zu blindly gazed around. " Where am I? What's going on…' he seemed underwater but he was able to breathe…

The last he remembered was the art gallery hacking Kui to death. Then a blinding white light hit him and then…

'I came here?

'What kind of a place is this?'

Everything seemed magical.

His hands gently touched the shiny black tail. The fins wiggled around gently to the current. 'This is all too weird.'

A sharp pain infiltrated his mind. {'Intruder, leave my body!'} a powerful voice shouted in his mind.

Dai Zu looked around in fear. There was no one close by.

"Who are you?"

{'I'm Heillian the great general of the Mer kind. You better leave my body or else you will be condemned to life,'} the voice growled.

Dai Zu felt a splitting headache. Memories irrelevant to his own started to pour in.

{stop tapping in my mind!'}

{'stop it!}

"Shut up!" he screamed, holding his aching head.

Slowly the strong voice disappeared, leaving his mind in a peaceful silence.

The amount of information he gained was too much. Eyes wide open, he gazed at his palm. "The mermaid prince, he looks like what Kui drew..."

He could never mistake it.

The Mer kind's youngest crown prince was the protagonist of Kui's every painting in his latest exhibition.

His new memories also prove that this was all in fact, true. The body he was inhibiting was the royal duke. His elder brother was the emperor of the Mer kind of the south.

'This…. is good.' he fanatically smiled. 'if I'm here then he must be here too…. He is most likely that crown prince! I... ill kill them all!'
