Sarah had been giving Noah a short, resentful glare ever since Matthew and Zara left to resolve the issue with Zara's family business. "Can I ask you something?" Sarah inquired.
Noah, who was in the midst of picking up a chair, paused and looked at her. "What is it?" His gaze softened slightly, reflecting a glimmer of curiosity.
"Would it be so terrible for you to trust someone and actually listen to them?" Sarah narrowed her eyes, her question laced with sarcasm.
Noah chose not to answer. He resumed clearing up the mess while waiting for the cleaning service to arrive.
"I am asking you, Noah!" Sarah's voice rose, surprising Meghan and Ava, who were there to help clean up. "Ah, I'm sorry," Sarah quickly apologised, realising she had raised her voice.
