Chereads / The Marriage Deal With Mr. Red Flag / Chapter 9 - The House On The Hill

Chapter 9 - The House On The Hill

The room was unfamiliar to Sarah when she woke up in the morning. She looked around, trying to make sense of her surroundings. The last thing she remembered was being drunk at the bar and two men approached her. Her head was pounding and her body felt weak.

As she tried to get up, she felt a wave of nausea hit her. She groaned and closed her eyes, hoping the feeling would pass. It was then that she noticed Noah standing by the door, watching her.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," he said, a smile on his face.

"What happened? Where am I?" Sarah asked, her voice trembling.

"You had a little too much to drink last night, so I brought you back to my place. Don't worry, I took care of you," Noah said, walking towards her.

"Wait, she held up her hand; stopping Noah from moving forward. She felt her shoulders were cold, so she checked them out and finally noticed she wasn't wearing anything. "What did you do to me?" She pulled the blanket up to her neck to cover her bare body and checked once again just to make sure. Seeing her underwear were still intact, she let out a sigh of relief.

"Hmm…" Noah continued moving forward, thinking of taking a seat at the end of the bed but Sarah shouted.

"Stop! Don't come closer!" Her face looked so pale and her eyes were shaky, trying to remember everything that happened last night.

'Come on stupid brain, what happened last night?' She closed her eyes and cupped her head.

"Did we...?" Sarah trailed off, her voice barely above a whisper. She didn't want to know the answer, but at the same time, she couldn't help the sinking feeling in her stomach.

Noah raised an eyebrow, a small smirk playing at his lips. "Did we what?" he repeated, stepping closer to her despite her earlier protest.

"Stop it," Sarah said, her voice trembling. "I don't like this. I don't like you." She pulled the blanket tighter around her body, trying to hide from his gaze.

Noah chuckled hearing her reaction. "Don't worry, I wouldn't take advantage of you like that. But," he added, leaning in closer to her, "I did get to see more of you than most people do."

Sarah's cheeks flushed an even deeper shade of red. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Noah winked. "Let's just say you have a very nice back."

Sarah impulsively looked at her back that was already covered by the blanket. She frowned and bit her lips, "Where is my clothes?"

Noah used his eyes to gesture at the clothes scattered on the floor. "It is not me, it is you, yourself."

Sarah was trying to digest everything at that moment. "So, it's me myself who was taking off my…clothes?" She was stuttering.

Noah nodded immediately. "Hot…hot…and you throw everything on the floor." He re-enacted the scene last night. A grin formed on his face.

Sarah's eyes widened in horror as she tried to remember the events of the night before. She had never been the type to have a bad habit when she drank or did anything reckless, but it seemed like that's exactly what she had done. "I...I don't remember," she admitted, feeling a sense of shame wash over her.

As Sarah looked down feeling embarrassed, Noah's expression remained unreadable as he watched Sarah struggle to make sense of the situation. "Yes, you undressed yourself," he said bluntly. "You were pretty wasted."

Sarah's insides clenched as anxiety crept in at the thought of how vulnerable she must have looked in that state. "I'm sorry, but can you leave me alone? I need to get dressed." She said, holding tight onto the blanket.

"Sure." Noah stood up and gave her one more glance before closing the door.

She quickly grabbed her clothes from the floor and hurriedly got dressed. As Sarah rushed out of the room, she was shocked to find Noah standing right in front of the door. She briefly considered running away to escape the embarrassment she was feeling, but the sight of him made her freeze.

"Good, you're dressed," Noah said, glancing at the dress she wore. "Feeling better?"

Honestly, Sarah didn't feel any better. The dress itself made her uncomfortable, she pulled down the dress to cover her thighs that were exposed to Noah's eyes.

Noah, who noticed her discomfort. He quickly glanced at his watch. "Let's have brunch, since it's almost noon," he suggested.

"Mr. Noah," she spoke so quietly that he had to lean in to catch what she said. " Thank you for everything, but I think I should go now."

Noah's expression remained unchanged as he looked at Sarah. "Are you sure?" he asked, his tone was neutral.

Sarah nodded, trying to avoid his gaze. "Yes, I need to go," she said, feeling a sense of urgency to get out of there as quickly as possible.

Noah nodded in understanding. "Okay." There was a subtle smirk on his lips.

Sarah bowed slightly for the last time before she rushed down the stairs. She looked on the left and right, trying to find the door to go out before finally finding the main one. She looked op one more time at Noah, who was walking down the stairs and said, "Thank you once again Mr. Noah." Shouted, she then closed the door.

He smiled, but his smile seemed to be hinting something.

Feeling relieved once she was outside the gate, Sarah took a deep breath and looked around.

"Where is this place?" she wondered in surprise. She was surrounded by lush greenery and a clear blue sky, a breathtaking sight that filled her with a sense of peace. But her mind quickly snapped back to reality as she realised she didn't know how to get back home.

Turning back, she looked at the closed gate. "Should I go back in and ask him?" she asked herself. She hesitated, unsure of what to do. She didn't want to be stranded in an unfamiliar place, but she also didn't want to inconvenience Noah.

Little did she know that Noah was watching her every move on his monitor screen with a smile, knowing she would be back inside and going nowhere until he decided to let her go.
