The two take the same elevator from before. Ascending the floors at a rapid rate. The translucent glass leaks in the rays of sunlight. Upon exiting the elevator the two are met by a familiar examiner.
"What an unlikely pair the cocky brat from before and a Phoebe no less". Draconic eyes find their way to the pair as they enter the facility. His pupils sharpen into spearheads.
"Surprised you had some bark to your bite boy especially with no power" Atlas scoffs at the memory of Blake's speech.
"Lets hope you win this one or you'll bring someone else down with you". Atlas says through a scaly smirk.
"Number 14 like before boy seems to be your lucky number, let's hope it's lucky huh Phoebe" Atlas says jabbing at Morgan before sending the two off to their sim room.
"Blake you should already know the environment is randomized" Morgan says through his quickened pace. Brushing off the irritating interaction.
"What even is a sim room? The desert I was in was endless". Blakes confusion finally begins seeking answers.
"I'm not surprised you don't know it's a pretty buried secret, originally the simulation room was created through a power user". Morgan says digging up old curiosity of the subject.
"They could manipulate dimensions, with enough work they managed to break down the process into a piece of technology and replicate it".
"That very same technology is at work here. When you step through that barrier it's like walking into a pocket dimension. One that can be altered as they see fit". Morgan says with a confident smile.
"That's why you can't hit the walls because they don't exist in that space. You would be surprised how long this took to dig up". Shuddering over the hours and hours of digging.
"How did you do it then?" Blake says.
"I have my ways Blakey" Morgan's says, putting a finger to his nose.
"Enough 20 questions we have a match to win don't we". A side eye followed by a smirk is sent Blakes way.
"If you could make it this far you should be able to hold your own, don't disappoint now". A push on Blakes back and they enter through the film of the sim room.
Immediately the space begins to shift as if someone threw a stone into the pond of space before the two.
"Get ready Blake"
Stone walls start to fill their whole view forming into wet caves. A wide dark array of tunnels lay out before the two.
"Considering you smoke, you're bound to have a light right"? Morgan pleads.
"Don't tell me this is the day you forgot it" Worry starts to fill Morgan's tone over the prospect of fighting in the dark.
"For emergencies like this I installed it into my arm". Blake says, forming a grin.
"How convenient"
"I shouldn't expect less of a smoker". Morgan says, sending a mischievous grin Blakes way.
"Yeah yeah keep your remarks to yourself I get enough off my sister". Blake says Summoning forth sparks from his palm, discreetly manipulating the sparks continuing their dance in giving the two green light in the swallowing darkness.
"Any reason it's green" Odd curiosity brims in Morgan's mind.
"Preference I guess"? Blake says failing at not being obvious.
"You guess"?
"Let's worry about the match, not the color I use for my lighter". Blake says.
"Okay, whatever you say Blakey". He says not letting the topic drop easily
The two walk in erratic light for what feels like ages. The sparks occasionally bounce off his prosthetic hitting the cave walls.
After a while they stumble upon an opening in the cave. Entering a massive opening in the cave system a glint is caught reflecting the green back at Morgan.
"I think this is it, Blakey" Morgan says, extending a hand and stopping Blake from moving any further.
"I see the duo not far from us, their planning to strike as soon as we go through that entrance".
"Great now what, we would be playing right into their hands then" Blake says, stumped at the situation he's been thrust into.
"Can you trust me" Morgan says ideas start to split and spread out in his mind.
"Is that even a question you already saved my ass today"
"I'll follow your lead friend" Blake says, sending a wide smile Morgan's way.
"Thanks Blake" An odd wash of unfamiliar comradery floods through him.
*Snap* Morgan's fingers start to leak out ripples as time starts to come to a crawl. Finally reaching a stop.
''I wont mess this up for us'' Scouting the opening he finds an advantageous spot to spring on the enemy.
"Perfect"
"Hopefully he keeps his mouth shut when I start time again"
*Snap*
"WH--
A hand swiftly covers Blakes mouth stifling any noise trying to leak out. Immediately recoil spreads throughout all of Morgan's body the feeling of glass filtering through his bloodstream dominates his senses.
"Please keep your mouth shut it took a lot for me to get us behind them" Morgan whispers wincing through his finger.
"What the hell did you do"? A scream-like whisper escapes Blake.
"I stopped time, now shut up" Morgan says, trying to end Blakes curiosity as soon as possible.
"You stopped time, that's possible"? Blakes shock makes his voice climb higher than normal whispering.
"So that's how you saved me" He pieces together the morning's event putting his fist in his palm connecting it all.
"Blakey, I won't say it again, can it" A menacing expression forms into a crumbling smile on Morgan's face nailing his point home.
"Look in front of us, that's what we're worrying about now, not my powers". Morgan whispers pointing his finger over at the other duo.
"I got us this far, got any ideas"? Morgan's expectations start coming forward.
"Hmmm"
"You know what not many are willing, but screw it I'm not many" Blake says punching his flesh into his prosthetic.
"I'll be bait, I'll try to take one of them with me. Your job is the other" Cracking his fleshy knuckles, his resolve holds firm.
"You want to do what"?
