The enigmatic old robotic figure starts to get up now, ripping the cables off his body. Creaks and screws falling, ring throughout the pristine underground facility. The soles of his feet breaking apart from age.
Wires scatter across the room as the body of out of date materials loom over Blake. Zeus is already zapping away into his brother. Red tints the ocular holes of the sliver head. "I asked you a question, who are you". Red beams on Blakes face, from the scrutiny at which he's being observed.
His artificial expression softens a little "Wait, your his son" Images of the past surge through as the understanding pieces itself together within his coding, restructuring rapidly to this information. A grave expression fills the cold artificial face.
"How long has it been"? Confusion runs through the database of his mind. "Last time I checked you were still 14" Eyeing over the boy again and again seeking concrete clarification. To no avail however as the boy's features are that of a young man now.
"I'm 18 now if that helps". The odd sense of calm dominates his mind again, refusing fear to creep in even in the presence of this unknown.
"He didn't". Panic spread's throughout his awareness. Finally having access to the planetary net he scours for information. Horror files throughout him as his rapid seconds of searching finds his answer.
Clenching each finger, the tension breaks the joints, as he slams the broken appendage into the wall. "That idiot". The red in his eyes became even more prominent than before.
"How could he, How could HE DO THIS"! The voice box starts to break apart as the unfiltered anger seeps its way into his artificial ego.
The information finding its way together through his puzzlement. Wanting to clarify, the calmness allows him to ask without any hesitation permeating his voice "Are you talking about Eric Asteria"?
"Yes I am, Blake". Cold indifference shines off his artificial facial expressions. His ocular ports blinked red rapidly. Information flooding through him, petabytes at a time.
A sad expression forms on his robotic features. "I'm sorry about the finals". A shiver runs through Blake at the knowledge this entity grasps at his fingertips.
Seeing the terror of the unknown form he tries to settle Blakes mind. "The net is a very useful place, however you have to be careful not to get lost within all that information". Diving through data with a dolphin-like efficiency.
Scanning through the local net and cameras for the final updates, shock disturbs his uniform 1s and 0s. "You didn't have a power Blake, me and your father confirmed it over and over again".
In the same motion the broken appendage of dangling metallic fingers breaks apart, reforming into a thick red blade of energy. Pointing it firmly at the throat of the boy before him. "The differences don't add up. Just what did you do to gain this power" Rage fills his distorted crackled voice.
"I received a gift from dad". A melancholic tone follows Blake.
"Apparently its a system, It allowed me to finally awaken something dormant within me. Not without a cost though" Excruciating pain bounces throughout his nerve endings reminding him of the experience in detail.
Blakes cold indifference reflects back at the robot now. "You're not the same Blake I know. What happened to you"? His deep electronic voice demanded an answer.
"I, I changed. I don't know who you are or how you know me but I'm not the same defenceless child like I once was". His vivid recent experiences flash forward through his mind. Demanding this fundamental change to stick.
"I will never revert back to that. I've decided to give it my all going forward". The determination lights up his eyes causing sparks to shoot out of them.
"The same tear filled child is standing fearless before my blade. This return from stasis is going to be interesting". Flicking his arm, the blade rapidly transforms back into his destroyed appendage.
"We are going to need to see what changes have occurred in your DNA, follow me". Waving his broken fingers, ushering in Blake without a care for what just happened, the amalgamation of wires and expensive materials dominating the facility.
"I don't think I mentioned this, your fathers name for me was Nova. His bright creation" Ocular cameras focusing sharply on Blake.
"What do you mean by creation"? His sentences hang, as the knowledge of his fathers work starts to shatter the image he had of him in the past.
"Eric created me, in secret of course. He couldn't let anyone find out about me". Sharp expressions form on the metallic face upon delivering this.
"The planet isn't ready for the emergence of a new life form. So he created me as a bridge for the inevitable coming era" His purpose filling him with pride delivering this to the next generation before him.
"Dad made you, so like a database of information for him then"? His curiosity getting the better of him now.
"That's a loose blanket way of putting it. Yes, the equivalent for you would be something like a culmination of reproductive cells to form flesh and bone to become a pet. Doesn't tell you everything". His sharp corrections mark themselves into Blake's memory.
At a loss for words over his fathers creation. He says the first thing that comes to mind."His naming scheme will never change". A smirk breaks through his stoic face.
"What about his naming scheme?" Curiosity beams through the encompassing red in his eyes.
"No, it's just predictable". Laughing to himself "He always had a fondness for stars, shame he never got to see one up close". Longing fills his voice.
"He may be gone but we're still here, we must persevere". His coding is already adapting to the oncoming change of this new reality. Preparations of data packages already released into his database. The protocol for his creator's death surging to the surface.
Integrating the changes, Nova grieves silently. Pushing through the binary of his emotion he distracts himself with a new task. "Maybe we can figure out just what this system is that Eric left; he never mentioned anything like it to me". The devourer of knowledge makes itself very present. Already spamming queries related to a system on the planet net.
"Before I do a deep dive of this, I want to check your DNA. Your dad left a strand on record but I'd like a more recent strand to compare, especially considering the recent events". Cold intrigue spills out of his low pitched voice at the inspection of the outside footage.
"Follow me, this place is fully equipped". Making his way throughout the facility like the back of his hand, Nova guides Blake along. Entering a stocked up med bay, all sorts of various pieces of technology are shoved into space. A clear chamber comes into view, clean and immaculate of any grime.
"Alright Blake this will be an in depth scan, I'm sure you can handle a little pain". A nonchalant tone emits through his electronic voice. Shoving him on the back without a care, Blake falls into place in the chamber.
"I promise it will be quick" Winking he connects to the mainframe of the facility, his bright red eyes turn a vibrant yellow.
Having to get comfortable Blake remarks "Afterwards you can tell me all about your and dads relationship". A prominent grin paints his face, the prospect of finding out more about his father setting his mind ablaze.
"Sure" A warmness starts to fill the normally cold electronic voice
"Admin access, DNA scan". Immediately a bright silver light floods the whole chamber Blake's stuffed into, the radiant light spilling out blinding any organic life. Needles precisely pierce into his skin getting detailed genetic information. Followed by the collection of his saliva and mucous for inspection later.
"Final part of it now Blake". Taking full control of the chamber now Nova directs a small precise drill right into Blakes shoulder. Breaking into flesh and bone, he claims his prize extracting the viscous bone marrow. The claw-like attachment Rapidly brings it to the machines for analysis.
"How, how is this even possible". The electronic voice echoes throughout the med bay.
