Chapter 2 - Alina

We arrived at the Secretary General's house just after 23:00 PM. The rain was beating down on us like a cloud of stones, while the thunder rumbled in all its anger above our heads. The darkness was calming in a way, with streetlights reminding us that there is life around us.

"Has anybody called the SG about this yet?" Dicky got out of the car all gallantly replying: "Nope, that's gonna be YOUR job since the two of you are drinking buddies." I followed him inside past flashing lights of red and blue, while the neighbours and others were gathered outside. At the entrance of the Secretary general's house stood Gabriella Austin, the Secretary general's daughter's best friend, and her parents. She was crying. I could hear her saying: "I can't believe this, why did it have to happen to her?" the Secretary general and his wife were out of town for work. They were out there somewhere, unknowing that their daughter has been taken. We entered the house, where officers were taking a look through the house for clues. yellow tags marked a struggle as items were broken, and forensics were taking photos of the crime scene. One of the officers, officer O'Malley, came to fetch us. "Well officer, seems like quite the war went down here. What do we have?" Dicky asked. Sir, what I can tell you is that you're not gonna like this. Follow me"

We followed the officer into the living room. "OH my God!" I almost puked on the scene of what I saw. It was Alina. What I found strange is that she hadn't been abducted. She was here, in front of us, mounted on to an upside wooden like structure that resembled a cross.

She had multiple stab wounds to her chest, and was naked, her curves exposed for all to see in a sense of humiliation. She was practically drained of her blood, as her throat was slit. Her dead eyes looked back at me with the same expression that she was left with. The one that most likely shouted in fear: "Please help me, I don't wanna die!" "Take a look at this." The officer pulled her body forward to arch her back, and there it was. Her heart had been removed from the back, more like ripped out of her chest from the back.

On both sides of her body were two lit candles, and a scarlet angel. The scarlet angel's trademark. when I turned my head, there was a message written in blood on the wall. Most likely her blood. It read: " The fallen shall rise again and justice shall be served for the master of darkness." I pointed it out to Dicky. "What a fucking whackjob! This guy is NUTS! THIS IS HUMAN SACRIFICE!" It definitely wasn't the standard scarlet procedure. Was he changing his tactics? Or maybe upping his game, or was this simply a message. Whatever it was, I knew we had to find this guy before any more damage was done...

I picked up the phone. We all knew this wasn't going to be a pleasant call. I had to call Joe and tell him his daughter had been slaughtered like an animal. He flipped out,as was expected and canceled all trips to head back home. He was devastated of course, and I regretted that I had to be the ne to inform him. I put the phone down and then I saw something. I took a step closer, and found a knife covered in blood under the table. "Dicky!! Come here!! I found something!!." Dicky came running in: What is it, what did you find.?" I pointed out to the knife. "Fuck me! He must've dropped the murder weapon!" I picked it up and put it in an evidence bag. "Carlyle! take this and get to the lab immediately. I need to see if there's any fingerprints on there. If there is, you call me RIGHT AWAY, you got it?" The forensics officer nodded and called it in, leaving the site to get the weapon checked out. "Somehow I don't think this was a mistake Dicky. He wanted to be found. this wasn't a mistake. He set us on a goose chase to find him. This wasn't a mistake, he just made shit very personal. I've gotta find that bastard, and I've gotta find him soon. I can't and I WON'T let him get away with this. Shit just got personal..."
