Matthew gently opened his eyes and then he saw Mira in front of him, the mysterious creature's claw was a centimeter away from the skin of his arm, his eyes landed on the body of the creature to see it was made of a human skeleton.
Mira dropped the creature on the ground as the skeleton scattered on the ground.
"What? What was that?" Matthew questioned as he moved in front to get a look at the creature, raising his head to get a glint of Mira's expression, he saw her eyes had become red.
"Oh wow!!" He exclaimed moving backward.
"What are you shouting for now?" Mira asked aggressively as he pointed toward her eyes.
"First of all, how were you able to capture the creature in a nick of time, and your eyes? Is turning red," he pointed out as Mira had a frown on her face then her eyes widened.
"What? What are you saying?" She said touching her face.
"Do, do you think is the contamination from that creature?" Matthew questioned.
"How the hell am I supposed to know about it?"
"Okay, maybe we should go back to the camp and inform the rest about it."
Mira raised her hand to take a look at her wristwatch.
"I'm sure it would take an extra minute if we go back, we could just continue."
"What about our lives?" Matthew asked.
"Do you want us to lose the game or save our lives?" Matthew added.
" I think not wanting to lose the game is important."
"But- our lives, listen to me, even if we miss this first round, there are other times we could go for the game, who knows what is still out there."
"Why are we even arguing about this matter?" He added frustrated.
"Okay then, you're right."
They walked over the fallen skeleton as they headed to the camping ground, everywhere was quiet with no one around entering the place.
"Let's go," Matthew said as they headed to the administrative office.
After giving information to the admin, they moved to the security office to see the recording of what they'd said but there was no record of either Mira or Matthew passing the area.
"Okay, what about Mira, her eyes," Matthew pointed out as they turned to her seeing her eyes were as normal though it was hazel.
"Mira, you didn't wear your glasses today?" The admin asked as Mira nodded.
"It must have been the reflection of light on her contact lenses maybe the sunset, that's what you saw."
"Okay, what about the area, we could go check the area, we'll see then."
"Are you sure of your calm?" The admin asked.
"So positive about it," Mira said.
They walked to the spot where they had left the creature but when they got there, they were met with an empty spot.
"But-" Mira and Matthew stuttered in shock as they turned to the admin.
"I'm sure about it, I even held it by the neck and, it was about to cut Matthew on his arm."
"There are lots of reasons for your statement, who knows, it might have been something you imagined with the expense of seeing a horror creature."
"But how the hell did we get to see the same thing at the same time?" Matthew questioned as he was interrupted by the sound of the horn for time out.
"That's it, you both are done with the activity, you could go back to the camp," the admin said as they were about to leave when they heard footsteps from behind, as they turned to see, it was Justin and Maddie.
"You guys? What are you doing here at the last minute?" Maddie questioned with a face full of pleasure seeing where they had headed just when the alarm went on.
"Wait a minute, you guys had probably passed this route, maybe you would have seen skeleton on the ground," Mira said.
"Yeah, we passed this route but it was normal, we didn't see anything out of the ordinary," Maddie said with a frown as she shook her head and then she scornfully chuckled.
"Let me guess, you guys are trying to look for an excuse for not being fast enough or probably because you couldn't read the diagram on the map." Maddie teased.
"Let's move to the camp, what you guys claim to see is confirmed as nothing. It must have been a wild animal." The admin said and then, they were on their way out.
As they all moved out, the skeleton creature took a glimpse behind a tree as they walked away.
"The blue moon is further seen in a rare distance." It said in a hoarse voice.
Mira turned around hearing the voice of the creature but it was empty.
"Why did you stop?" Justin asked concerned as her eyes were still scrutinizing the area and then, she shook her head.
"Nothing," she said softly walking away with Justin.
