While the otherworldly creatures engaged in a heated discussion downstairs, in the upper-floor room, laughter and excitement filled the air. Lilith twirled Ziana around as soon as they entered, sending Ziana into giggles and cheers.
"Stop it," Ziana grumbled playfully, and Lilith paused, her face lighting up with a smile. Ziana took a seat on the bed, and Lilith slumped down beside her, propping her head up with her hand, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"How did you guys even meet?" Lilith inquired, her eagerness evident as she threw a barrage of questions at Ziana. "No, wait! Does he have a brother? It's fine even if he's younger than me, I mean, him."
Ziana chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm but decided not to delve into the complexities of Zayden's family dynamics. She had married a reaper to protect herself, but she couldn't let her friends make similar choices that might draw them into the supernatural world as she had.
