***Trigger Warning: This chapter deals with trauma.
Jay sat next to his friend, listening. Ever since they had come back from the prison, Kason had been on edge. After seeing the hidden room and the torture chambers, he was starting to get an idea of what his friend had to go through. During their dinner with Misty, Jay could tell that he had been able to shove his feelings to the back of his mind. Even during the bath, they probably could have continued, and it would have been enjoyable.
But Kason didn't want to use Misty as a way to escape his trauma. Jay could understand, to some extent. If he started doing that, then every time his trauma was triggered, he might want to use Misty again and again to escape it. It would ultimately hurt their relationship. Kason was a man and wanted to be able to stand next to Misty, not be a weight that would burden her. Jay knew that she wouldn't see it like that, but it was hard for Kason to think of it any other way.
