Kronos slowly walked to the throne room in deep contemplation of the information he had received. A visitor from the East with no message at all from them was worrying, especially one that claimed to be his sister.
Soon he found himself in front of the door to his throne room. He sighed before steeling himself and opened the door.
He made his way to his throne and saw his beautiful wife there, sitting on her own, waiting for him. As he sat, he motioned for the guards to bring the visitor in.
'Well, let's see who this mystery goddess is and hopefully it'll be a peaceful discussion.'
As the guards opened the door, the room seemingly brightened in joy as a goddess walked in and slightly bowed towards Kronos and his wife.
Her hair was coral pink and her eyes were sea-foam green. She wore a white kaunakes and a white sheepskin cloak around her upper body, with a satchel around her waist.
"My name is Aphrodite Ourania, daughter of Ouranus."
She smiled as she raised her head.
"And your half-sister"
Kronos's face didn't waver at the words she said, but on the inside, he was confused. He recalled that he learnt that Aphrodite was the daughter of Zeus and Dione, not Ouranus.
'I guess some things are different already. I need to be wary of that.'
"Well, welcome Aphrodite, you claim to be our sister yet your attire is the same as the Dingilu and furthermore you bring no proof to back your claim. You are very bold."
A slight laugh left the lips of Aphrodite before she spoke.
"You're so wary, brother, but I understand and I did bring proof."
She took out a brown cube with an orb in the centre of it protruding out of its sides.
"This here is a tool that the Dingilu use to track their ancestry. The cube will break apart and float around the orb if two or more people push their divinity into it and they're siblings."
She paused as Kronos took the opportunity to speak, but before he could, she continued.
"Furthermore, as it was likely, you wouldn't believe me."
She reached into her satchel and took at a parchment.
"This is stamped proof from the king of Dingilu that the cube works and is used by his pantheon."
Kronos let out a big laugh that echoed throughout the room. Rhea spoke as his laughter died down.
"You're well prepared. I don't see any problem in trying that cube after we've looked at this parchment."
Rhea slowly walked down until she was right in front of her. Taking the parchment from Aphrodite, she slowly began to read and analyze it. After a minute, she looked back at her husband.
"There's no denying it, love. This is really from Anu. I can feel traces of his divinity on the stamp. I'll see if we really are sisters."
Aphrodite placed her hand on one side of the orb as Rhea placed her hand on the opposite side and they both began to push their divinities into the orb. The cube glowed as it began to detach itself from the orb and circled around it.
Aphrodite smiled at Kronos, glad that she proved her point.
"I told you we were siblings."
Kronos chuckled as Rhea walked back, and Aphrodite placed the cube back in her satchel.
"Indeed, sister, we are family, but that doesn't explain why you're back so suddenly after all these years or even why you never came to greet us."
A look of turmoil flashed across Aphrodite's face.
"When I was first born, I knew of you and all our other siblings. I knew of everything, but as I saw the world in my memories, I felt within me an urge. An urge to go and explore the world to experience it for myself. To see and hear the laughter of mortal children or the way how lovingly a husband looks at his wife and more, I had to experience it all. Unfortunately, I didn't return now because I've finished my journey instead because of this dream I've been having for weeks, a dream not of my memories as it should have been. A change happened a few nights ago, one that could only have been a premonition."
She took a deep breath as she recalled her dream.
Sea-foam green eyes opened, looking up at the starry sky. These eyes inhabited a coral pink haired woman lying naked in the sand. She lifted herself upright as a wave of confusion covered her body. Before she could even try to comprehend her situation. Abruptly, the ground began to shake and cracks started to form in front of her, creating a pit so close that she would have fallen in if not for her jumping away.
As she got up and turned around, her eyes were overwhelmed with fear as her body began to shake and her heart skipped a beat. The scene in front of her was a shocking one. Hundreds of hands were climbing out of the pit the earthquake had formed. An aura seemingly thirsty for blood surrounded them and they were fitted with armour as if they were heading to a battle.
What scared her the most, though, was the fact that they were singing in such a joyful tone.
"The time has come for the war,
The three prepare, their spirits soar.
Through distraction trials, they stride,
With mother's words, we won't divide.
No need for fear, brother's got a plan,
To conquer the king of this land.
Marching forth to Othrys' dark embrace,
Othrys! Othrys! We'll win this race!
In unity, we face the night,
Our hearts are filled with hope and might.
With courage strong, we'll take a stand.
No need for fear, brother's got a plan,
To conquer the king of this land.
Marching forth to Othrys' dark embrace,
Othrys! Othrys! We'll win this race!
We won't falter, we won't fall.
And victory, we'll surely gain.
No need for fear, brother's got a plan,
To conquer the king of this land.
Marching forth to Othrys' dark embrace,
Othrys! Othrys! We'll win this race!
The time has come, the battle's near,
With hope and purpose, there's nothing to fear.
We'll triumph over Othrys' might.
For brother leads the fight!"
The fear Aphrodite felt only increased as she heard the words of the men for she knew exactly where they were going. Her brother's castle.
