"And then I woke up, my bed filled with sweat and my body still shaking."
Kronos's mind was racing as he tried to understand as much as he could from everything she said, especially the song at the end.
"And you say they came out of a pit in the earth?"
Kronos asked as he stroked his beard.
Aphrodite nodded as she spoke.
"Yes, they did. I remember it completely and perfectly."
'I don't want to believe that she would ever do that, but there's a high chance that's what happened, especially with what Khronos said.'
The day of Poseidon's birth and his inability to use temporal vision flashed in his mind. Rhea, noticing his deep thinking, decided to ask him about it.
"Aphrodite, I'd have to ask you to leave me and my husband have much to talk about. A guard outside the door can direct you to a guest room, and I'll send an attendant to make sure you're comfortable."
Aphrodite bowed slightly before taking her leave.
"Now that we're alone, tell me your thoughts on this?"
She spoke as she placed her hand over his.
"I keep going over what she's told us and whether she's telling the truth, and it does seem plausible."
"How so, my Saturn, who in their right mind would try to attack us? We're a pretty powerful pantheon."
"And you'd be right, my Opis, but that doesn't affect someone within the pantheon, especially someone of a greater power."
Rhea gasped as the words clicked in her mind.
"A primordial but which one of them would even do thi-... wait, that's impossible you couldn't mean!"
"Yes, that's exactly what I mean. The biggest suspect would be our mother, Gaea!"
Deep below the Earth, there was a part of a realm right below Hellas. This realm seemed to be a lush forest with rivers flowing throughout it, but that was only a small piece of the realm, as the rest had dead trees and animals all around. The land was filled with black cracks. It seemed to be everywhere in the realm and at the centre of the realm and was a castle made entirely of wood.
The sounds of hundreds of wooden swords could be heard coming from the castle as they clashed with one another or something else. It sounded as if an army was preparing for war.
"Khronos had said that she was always irrational, even from the beginning. He even said that it was likely she'd fight with Elohim. Elohim! For a minor reason."
Within this castle was a throne room at the centre, and the throne was forever occupied. Its user never left its embrace and rarely moved at all. Its user had olive skin, her peplos was dirt brown at its skirt before it melded into a grass green at her waist up.
The most unsettling thing was her eyes. They were pitch-black orbs and from them, dark cracks spread across her face. They were half open and slowly opening more and more as if they were waking up at a sloth's pace. No! Even slower than a sloth.
"But what reason could she have to attack us? And not only that, we're her children!"
"So what Rhea, Ouranos, was her husband, and she still asked us to chop him down. It doesn't matter that we're her children, she'd still attack us! And the only reason I could think that she'd start that war would be because of our brother's imprisonment. If only I hadn't done such a thing!"
In the throne room, a rugged and intimidating Giant was on his knees, bowing at Gaea, his crown slowly falling off his teal-haired head. After a while, he rose from his knees and nodded towards Gaea as he opened his azure eyes.
"You can't stress over past things, you've changed now. What we need to do now is prepare for the coming war."
"You're right, love."
The teal-haired giant rang a bell in the courtyard, gaining the attention of all the training giants. Seeing their king, they all fell on their knees in respect for his power.
"My brothers, mother has revealed to me the state of our future lands. The time for us to climb our way upwards and take what should be ours is near!"
His voice reached even the farthest borders of Gaea's realm and formed an earthquake all around. In Hellas, Kronos continued to speak.
"When they come of age, I shall make our sons go through trials so that they can be stronger."
"Yes, we should do that. We must prepare them for war!"
The Giant paused as he smiled, walking closer to his brethren.
"Everything is progressing perfectly as mother and I have planned. When they come of age is the time, we will strike and we won't fail. I'll make sure that we win. I swear on my name, Alkyoneus, that we shall take the lands we deserve!"
The crowd of giants shouted in approval as they raised their hands.
"We shall have anything we want!"
Yeahhhh!
"Women!"
Yeahhhh!
"Meat"
Yeahhhh!
"Everything under the sun!"
Yeahhhhhh!
They began to make a bunch of noise, feeling the hype around the coming war. On that night, Kronos and his wife began preparation, going to sleep full of worry while the Giants partied the night away having as much fun as they could.
