Chapter 27 - To Cut A Living Noose

The deadly smoke alone had already killed half of the Abraxas members. With the others beginning to recover, Lothair decided to end this whole cascade in a jiffy.

Just as Lothair went into an offensive, the purple cloaked demons began to fight dismissively, focusing on greatly maintaining distance and avoiding direct encounters — all while the faceless golems began to rise from the ground, increasing in numbers.

Due to that, at every certain interval, Lothair would wipe out a majority of them with all sorts of wide-scale destruction and prevent any further complications.

At the same time, numerous other disastrous phenomena such as sudden magma eruptions, sudden shift in gravitation, changes in time dilation, and natural space tornadoes happened left and right.

At first, it was rather a deadly challenge course for someone like Lothair. This was heightened due to the fact that the Abraxas members weren't affected by those phenomena. A big plus from Lothair.

"I wonder how much effort they put into making a plan to kill me." Lothair then felt that the majority of his Overhealing corrosion had been fully reverted by the ever churning mechanism inside his flesh. "Right, guess I can start to take this more seriously then."

After a lot of times dancing in the air along the many murderous cacophony, Lothair finally struck his feet on the ground.

He did the same method of producing electricity as he was in space, creating a beautiful cage of lightning due to the effect of the weird laws of physics of this place.

Grinning, he began to Overheal the scorching black smoke that he kept within his mouth, which leaked faintly from his fangs.

But instead of multiplying into a fog tsunami like back then, the black smoke was duplicated in a much more concentrated scale — enveloping Lothair's whole body like an exoskeleton made from the charcoal they used to burn sinners in hell.

And then once again, his face was consumed by a glowing, giant singular red eye.

"Abandon ye hope — who enters here."

On his first step forward, he instantly traversed hundreds of meters from his former position — leaving a great trail of green and lightning as he caught up to one of the enemy's ranks, disrupting the harmony of the evasive formation done by the Abraxas by sheer presence alone.

The first demon he approached was a 'Siren', a certain race of demons who used their voice as the medium of spellcasting.

From that demon perspective, Lothair seemed to just suddenly appear with a hectic background made by the power leap. His singular red eye stared into her soul.

Without any hesitation, Lothair plunged her hand onto the siren's throat. A splurt of bluish liquid scattered to the ground, some of the droplets got suspended in the air due to the unequal gravitation.

A corrupted, oppressive voice began to whisper on the siren's mind.

"I thought I already had taught you how to perform a much bigger-scale destruction with your own voice, Miyas."

The siren's limbs twitch uncontrollably. Her chest puffed in and out, desperately gasping for air as she tried her very best to deliver her voice.

"To me, it seems like you have bonded quite a lot with the other members of Abraxas, forcing you to use your power in moderation that is far from your true potential~" The red gaze leaned in further, enveloping the whole frame of the siren's peripheral vision.

The poor demon showed a face that read 'How do you know!?', which was immediately replied by a much more distorted yet decipherable voice.

"Because I'm the one who gave that voice."

A huge quantity of the scorching smoke was injected into the siren's veins.

It ended up in a gruesome dead

Just as Lothair finished doing one of what he should've done a long time ago, an ear piercing thump reverberated on the back of his skull.

It was a giant rock hammer connected to the limb of a bigger version of the faceless golem.

And more of them began to arise from the soil.

But just before they could amass an army of giant golems, a significant amount of them had already been divided into an upper and bottom piece as a thunderous sword of steel-melting blue plasma was horizontally swung over a wide area.

After that, the terrifying speedy monster that was known to be Lothair began to crash against the torso of the incoming golems left and right, introducing the concept of circular blaze into their heart of mud and unremovable stain.

Unlike when he dealt with the siren, Lothair was being intercepted left and right by the other members of the purple cloak. An unstoppable ball of fire locked

While it was a hassle, it was much more of a pushover in comparison to Lothair's lifetime battle experience.

Fueled by the constant chaotic electrical outburst, his speed accelerated even more with every strike he landed. Until eventually, he managed to catch up to the source of the golems.

After going through the neglectable pain of being bombarded left and right, up and down — Lothair was in front of a seemingly unnatural demon from the 'Arachne' race. Her face was overwhelmed with fear and anger, as shudder ran a marathon across all of her 8 legs.

"You've grown well, Djashara. Too well for your age, in fact." Lothair stood afloat one meter above the ground — where the gravity was significantly lower. His giant eye stung through the soul. "Though, if you want to kill someone at this kind of distance, you might really want to take a much more straightforward approach with your golem's summoning skill…

"Use the bones and flesh of your enemy directly as the material. Directly implant a golem inside me, tearing my tendon and guts apart! You could've done that, didn't you?"

Terrified and frustrated, the arachne began her chanting with her tears on the verge of bawling her eyes out.

A golem immediately bursted out of Lothair's chest. It was void black with a large hint of white, lean, and incomprehensible in terms of form. The golem that used Lothair's blood and flesh looked like an animated bad drawing of a child.

But before the golem could fully mature, it was burned by the heat of the charcoal-colored exoskeleton.

While all she could see was the eye that stung her soul back to back with the conscience to live for tomorrow, she could imagine the sadistic and terrifying grin that danced across the hellspawn's cheeks.

It was all over for her, she thought. While there weren't many chances to live a fulfilling life as a demon, she deliberately chose a path where she would reunite with the very demon that made her suffer.

"Seems like you still couldn't create a proper life. Such a shame really — even with a personal audience seat to a practice presentation on how I gave you those lower bodies."

Showing a great sign of disappointment, Lothair grabbed the arachne head and pushed it back to her torso. Before the grotesque sight could be witnessed by all eyes in vicinity, the whole blood and flesh of the spider lady was incinerated into ashes by the ferver heat.

Not giving any time for the Abraxas to react, Lothair jumped upon the farthest one he could perceive.

It was a demon blacksmith with rusted metal as the majority of his cranium. Feeling deadly threatened, he shot off his plasma cannon that was already revved up to chaotic constant discharges.

With the plasma projectile dead set on hitting its faithful target, Lothair overhealed the exoskeleton part on his wrist and deflected the plasma back to the sender.

The demon blacksmith pulled a trigger near the handle, turning the cannon into a molten searing claymore with a pair of shields on its size. As if he had been training for this, he perfectly deflected back the plasma projectile back to the smoke-coated demon.

And then it got deflected back.

And again.

Until the fifth time, Lothair decided to grab the plasma projectile and rushed forward, leaving a bright green trail as he dunked the sphere of destruction on the demon's head.

"Nice party trick, but we're having a banquet." Lothair created a pair of exhausts that looked like the two ends of a scarf attached to his neck. "Not a midnight late reunion!"

Other than more smoke being generated from those scarf-like exo-organs, dried and fresh blood from internal wounds could be seen being turned into streams.

Just as Lothair was having his nice break, a lone demon with a saber could be seen charging forward along with the projectiles of long-ranged elemental spells as the support.

Lothair was sure to kill those pesky magus from afar when he had his long-time reunion, but as one goes down, a new face began to replace the dead one like they were restocking the product on the shelf.

"Ah, I know you." Lothair shortened the gap, taking the lone demon into a close quarter combat. "Sarcre Orkam, the genius duelist. How's the tournament after your five senses are heightened?"

Not even listening to any of the Lothair's words, the duelist danced amongst the incoming projectiles, constantly dealing damages that were pretty severe to normal demons, but rather meaningless to the renowned leader of the Headless Ichthys.

Without taking much effort, Lothair hardened his left wrist to stop the strike from getting through his flesh, stopping the flurry of thrusts and swings to a halt. He then overhealed the saber to create a crude replicate before enacting a similar flurry of strikes onto the genius duelist.

"You're blessed with talent, wealth, and luck. Too bad that none of them were present when you met me back at the colosseum." Lothair then grabbed the sharp end of the saber and swung the weapon against the duelist's skull, dealing an unexpected slash wound despite using the blunt end. "To rightfully wield a sword, you must hold it whatever you want. To weaponize a sword, you only need to swing it on a whim. Like this!"

He did the same thing again, this time, it didn't stop until the duelist drew his last breath.
