Adam's awakening ability was simple and direct. He had the ability of weight manipulation. Depending on the need, he can increase the weight of his body by three times at most.
Which had huge lethality, as his punches hit just as hard.
This ability also had the ability to exercise his body all the time if Adam wanted to by increasing his weight and moving under that weight all the time.
But was Adam someone who did that?
Luvi recalled the past meeting with Adam, he was free and didn't seem bound by the effect of his ability. Even during the jogging, he can feel taht Adam didn't care much about the exercise itself and hence didn't use his ability to make his training harder, so as to obtain better benefits.
It would be apt to say he just used his ability to increase the weight of his punches and nothing else.
This doesn't mean he was an easy opponent, Adam might not be a hard worker, but he still attended the multiple practical lessons and was used to fighting or beating others.
He might lack technique or proper form, but he would still be better than someone who only learned proper fighting techniques in the last month or so.
Because at the end of the day, bookish knowledge can never be compared to experience and instincts.
Not to mention, Andy never ever fought for real in a fight. He still needed to think to use a move before he could act.
His mind might be into a fight, but not his body.
So Luvi looked forward to the pummeling that Andy might get into this small spar.
"Start!"
Teacher Daarum ordered, his voice lower than normal and the students that surrounded this ring were higher in quantity.
It would seem some curious ones have stopped their practice and chosen to see what Adam is going to do with Andy, the child that put their school on news for the wrong reasons.
"Ah, Lucky Adam, I wanted to put some manners into him."
Some of them didn't speak well about Andy's chances while others wanted to be the one to beat him up.
But there were some who were aware of the real culprit of the incident and looked at Luvi with a mocking gaze, as if telling him the next might be his turn.
Of course, these were not threats anymore. Considering what had happened a few hours before in the endurance class, Luvi understood that this might come true if nothing is done fast.
It was why a plan had soon come to his head. A plan whose seeds might be sown today if Andy plays his cards right.
On the other side, the sparring began.
There were multiple grabbing and clawing techniques in his head, but considering that he can't use his ability to regrow the nails he cut just a few hours ago. He chose to use the classic CQC he had learned from the teacher.
Because, even if he didn't plan to use his claw techniques, it didn't mean the body training he has been going through didn't provide him any advantages.
His base body was stronger than before, which gave him a chance to fight against Adam who was born with a strong body and even an equally overpowering ability.
So with his guard up, he looked for opportunities.
This was CQC, the winner is decided in an instant, so any mistake early on will doom him. He needs to make sure before making a move.
And while Andy had so much thoughts going on in his head, Adam on the other hand was having a time of his life. Looking at Andy as if it was his prey came to slaughter.
"What are you waiting for, come and attack?"
Adam showed his hands open and unguarded. But Andy didn't move all at once.
This was not a fight where they traded blows, this was simple sparring where a moment's mistake might result in his loss.
And this was the first time he will ever fight someone in a sparring match, so he didn't wish to make any mistakes.
Not to mention, he was not a fool.
Even if he never took part in the sparring due to his condition and weakness. It didn't mean he was blind to those that did. He had kept his eyes on them, learned their moves and their habits in the ring.
So he knew that attacking Adam now would be foolish.
"He pussied out and I thought we would see something interesting."
"Just fight, what are you waiting for?"
"Silence in the arena, don't distract the fighters." Daarun shouted. He understood that the jeering might distract the fighter. Specifically Andy, who was in his first real sparring.
But it didn't mean Daarun would stop the words of Adam. Because at the end of the day, fighting was done with both body and mind. The opponent would try to mess with their enemy's mind as much as they can to weaken their concentration.
And Adam, although he was a fool when it comes to effort. He was a master at taunting and making their opponent angry due to his bullying habit.
"Seems like Lady is scared… don't worry. I won't hurt you mu…"
It was then that Andy moved, his hands automatically took a claw form, but without his nails, their lethality was a lot lower. But the strength of his finger and grip were not for show.
His nails were there for when he went for the kill, the current situation didn't call for that.
'I can't use mana.'
He thought, as he lunged toward Adam with his claws forward.
Which surprised others a bit.
They wondered what kind of move it was, as usually while tackling, the hands are open to capture their target, but in this, Andy's hands were stretched toward Adam.
Adam was ready to take on Andy, he even laughed when he saw the weird tackling motion of his body and thought that it was his win already.
And there was only one person who understood what Andy was trying to do. 'This is no tackle.'
Adam was ready to take on Andy, he even laughed when he saw the weird tackling motion of his body and thought that it was his win already.
But then something unexpected happened.
Andy, instead of tackling him, directly struck under the side of his chest with both hands.
"*Coug.."
There was no time for him to cringe in pain, as after Andy took hold of his chest muscles under his tight grip, he rammed his head into Adam's stomach. Taking out all the air in Andy's stomach all at once.
"This… What kind of move is that." They saw it. Even though Andy's hands were bandaged, and his nails still hiding inside. They can see some bleeding from the place where Andy was gripping Adam.
"Stop… stop this fight."
And Daarun intervened at once as well.
This fight took an unexpected turn.
And he removed Andy from the fallen Adam, in fear Andy might take some heavy revenge. But Andy did none of it and silently moved to the side, looking at Adam without any emotion.
Then he turned to look at all others, and glared at them, as if saying. "I won."
On the other side, Daarun lifted Adam's shirt to check at his injuries. 'Just how hard did he grab him?'
There were no signs of injuries caused by nails, instead all he found was that the grip of Andy was so strong that it broke Adam's flesh in that single grip. And the headbutt to the stomach became the overkill.
"It hu…ts." Adam cried, with tears streaming down his eyes. Only now he started to feel the real pain of Adam's attack.
His sides hurt and his breathing was terrible.
He even wondered what happened and how. He was still mocking Andy, but then suddenly he was down and crying in pain.
"THIS FUC!!" He tried to curse, but shut his mouth off when the pain got too hard for him to handle. But anyone close to him can see the hatred in his eyes.
'This was a spar… it shouldn't have gone this serious. What kind of moves were they?... how can his grip be this strong.'
Daarun found it odd. He was aware that Andy was learning one of those combat arts, but he never thought that their effect would be this strong.
'No, they aren't this strong. Even the one I practice doesn't show such capabilities.'
Calling for the medic and sending Adam to infirmary, Daarun called out Andy to him and asked.
"Show me your hand!" It was a direct order without much emotion and Andy, fearing that he might be in trouble for messing up Adam a bit too much, he silently showed Daarun his hands.
'Its way worse than Luvi… such injured hands produce that much grip strength?'
'No, there is something wrong with these hands, why do they look a bit… purple?'
"You were practicing and fighting with these kinds of hands… Are you insane? Can you even feel a thing in it? Gangrene seems to be setting in it."
