The appearance of a dream parasite was the first of its kind. But sadly, until further research has been done on it, Luvi won't learn about it for a long time. Nor will anyone release the information about it to the public for a long while.
"Well, I might not release them to the world, but I might just use them for myself." Luvi planned to give himself an edge through the forbidden techniques.
The techniques might give everyone a chance to cultivate, but even that required talent and restrictions. Which Luvi also had.
It was why after thinking a bit more, he chose to keep these forbidden cultivation techniques for his own use.
'I should also give this whole gift a proper read… who knows what else it is hiding.'
The gift was in the form of a book that Luvi had to manually read, it was not an information that was perfectly integrated into his mind and he still had to manually learn from it.
One can even treat the gift as an illusory book that only he can access, so there was much to discover each time he opened it.
And if he has to say, he still hasn't read over 10% of this gift and he can only imagine what the rest of the book contains.
Of course, there was the index, so Luvi had some ideas about the content in it. Which can only be explored with time.
FIX: I will be meeting with Impala soon.
Luvi saw the message and informed Impala or a young man named Aoto Fujii.
Aoto was 28 years of age and a lot older than Luvi and some others. But he, like the rest of the members, was someone without much to look forward to in the world.
His older brother was being groomed to be the next owner of Fujii Pharmaceuticals. While he was always relegated as a backup albeit being as much as talented as his brother, if not more so.
The reason being the traditional values of his father, who still believed that the oldest son has to carry the family forward while the younger ones existed to just support the oldest or as a backup.
It was why there was not much love in Aoto for his family. To his father, everything existed with a specific purpose since birth. Everyone has a role to play in their life and its his father's job to decide what that role is.
A belief that even his older brother came to accept after being groomed by his father. Not to mention, his brother awakened a bizarre ability where he became immune to most poison during his awakening.
Making the belief of his father stronger.
While his younger son, who was treated as a backup as well as support only awakened a somewhat useless ability, which was to converse with animals.
It was why he was further ignored, causing him to fall into depression.
But Aoto was not going to lie down and be mocked and humiliated by his family. He wished for their acceptance, he wanted to prove to his father he had more purpose in his life than being just a useless back up.
It was why when Luvi gave him the chance to prove his worth, he took it.
The start was the problem. He was a smart man who had some authority over the company records due to his identity.
So it didn't take for him to sort out some outliers among the company who had some strong emotions against the companies.
Few among them were already kicked out and now looking for a job.
It was these kinds of people that Aoto targeted.
But Aoto also understood that among the people who have been kicked, only few might be innocent or none at all. So he chose to ignore them and only intended to poach the employees that still worked for his father's company, but all of them had some issues with the way the company worked and had put in complaints.
And from them, he chose the ones he liked, then he chose the ones who might not mind doing any illegal activities, before sending them a message.
The next thing Aoto had to do was divide the recipe into multiple parts. The different compounds needed, material processing, reagents, processes were all divided.
Then he added some extra false steps and materials in between with the help of Luvi. Though Aoto can see that Luvi was not much knowledgeable about materials or drug making, he seemed to just list the names and functions of some materials from what he has seen in his dreams.
Most of the work was still done by Aoto Manually.
Being born as the son of a Pharmaceutical chairman, he always had interest in drug making and got his masters degree in biological compounds and drug making when he was just 16 years of age.
Which has been furthered finessed after countless experiments that he had done since then in an effort to create results that would earn respect from his family.
Now that same knowledge is being used here to falsify the recipe in case someone tries to steal it.
'It's still me who has to do the last step.'
Last step was not something which can be done through modern technology. Even after making one to one, the awakening serum will act like a digestive medicine and nothing more.
To fully activate the serum, a mage was needed with a particular spell.
Which Luvi has specifically given to him.
After a month of practice and multiple failures, Aoto finally got the chance to use it.
"Compound Ignition!!"
The moment the words escaped Aoto's lips, his fingers danced in the air in a practiced manner which caused the sealed green liquid to shine for a bit.
This was the most important step. Before this, the serum is in an inert state.
What compound ignition spell does is act as the tinder which spreads the fire. But this is not fire in the literal sense.
The tinder here is the specific mana made for potions, which once activated will cause an irreversible change in the material.
Just like the one that was happening in front of Aoto.
As the spell worked, some glowing vapor floated up from the beaker, which then solidified into drops of clear liquid with a bluish hue.
And drip by drip, Aoto collected a total of 30 grams of the end product and then he smiled.
"I succeeded on the first try?"
He can't believe it.
He though the chances of failure were high and he was ready to do his best to repeat the spell when he recovered some mana.
It would seem his fear were for naught.
But what Aoto forgot to think was that the hard work he has been doing for all these years was for nothing. Even the last month when he was free from managing and searching for people, he still did his best to practice the Compound ignition spell again and again until his mana was depleted.
Meaning it was not purely luck, but his actual efforts that paid off perfectly.
"A bit more than 30 grams."
Considering a single dose only required nine grams, he had enough material to awaken three people at least.
But suddenly a doubt appeared in his head.
'Everything that DreamMachine gave us, turned out to be true… but this still somehow feels impossible' Aoto thought, looking at the end product in his hand.
Even though the awakening serum was in his hand, he still found it hard to believe it was real.
"The materials are not special, the early preparation is also not that different from what we do, is something so mediocre, really capable of achieving awakening?"
He was embarrassed to question DreamMachine, he felt it would be unjust to question someone that has given so much to him and others like him.
So he felt a bit ashamed.
But why would he not?
'No, it can work… I might not understand the reasoning on how it works, but from the materials used. I can make up a thesis.'
Aoto recalled the ingredients and then he looked at the compound once more.
'Check a bit won't hurt… right?'
Considering it took 9 grams for a single dose. He still had a few drops left which can only be added to the next batch.
So after some thought, Aoto took a single drop from the serum and planned to take it home for his own private experiments.
"I wonder if rats can awaken as well?"
*****
DreamMachine: So you succeeded? How many doses?
Impala: A total of three and a few more drops.
FIX: My drone will reach your compound in two days. Please keep the materials ready.
Impala: Please worry not, by then, I would have cooked a few more batches. I am just curious about the pricing.
DreamMachine: As I said before, these will be the early funds for us. One will be used to prove that the medicine is not a lie, the rest will be sold in the market. As for price, the auction will decide. But if i have to say it, I don't wish for it to be anything less than 5 million dollars. Per piece I mean.
FIX: It will go higher.
DreamMachine: I am counting on it.
