Chapter 8 - hate but interested

California, 11 am.

Richard's POV

I sat in the car parked on campus, waiting for Daisy who was meeting with her professor. This feels so annoying, I've never been like this before. I hate waiting for the most, even my clients never let me wait a minute but my wife does this to me. Wait, my wife?

I exhaled roughly, leaned my head back on the seat, and closed it. it feels like a dream, today I should be enjoying my days as Irina's husband, but I'm Daisy's husband, an innocent girl who can't even tease me. Oh, should I tease her? she doesn't even know how to respond!

Drettt... Drettt...

I opened my eyes again and immediately took my cell phone from the pocket of the black jacket I was wearing, then I saw an incoming call from my dad.

"Hi, Dad?"

"Richard, are you seriously going on a honeymoon with that dump girl?" my dad asked, his voice filled with doubt.

"Yeah..." I sighed. "We're going to Italy."

"Richard... I know you don't want it... Don't push yourself, you can get better, and forget your ambition to get Irina..."

"I know, but I can't just end all of this….can't," I said, glancing at the window. "If in the end I immediately divorce her, then it was useless yesterday that I married her because, in the end, I will still be people's gossip. Besides… Daisy isn't so bad… She won't spend my money or take advantage of me."

"But she's not attractive... I also know she's still busy with her studies."

"I know that... I'll find a solution later."

"Our relatives are still here… They want to meet you before you leave… So, invite her….but don't let her embarrass you," my dad said, sounding irritated. "I think you know what I mean..."

"Yeah, I know." I nodded.

The phone line is lost. I was silent, looked at my cellphone and several message notifications appeared via Instagram from my friends, one of whom was named Giselle. I opened it and saw that the photo was very attractive. She is beautiful, stylish, and has a slim body. I got to thinking if Daisy were like that, maybe she wouldn't embarrass me.

"She's coming..."

I heard Sam's voice, then turned my gaze to the window. I saw Daisy coming towards me with a bag and some books, looking so young and innocent and like a bookworm. Instantly I was reminded of Giselle's attractive appearance, making me think of making Daisy look like her.

Without further thought, I immediately opened the door, went out, and greeted Daisy who was staring at me stunned.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," she said nervously, always nervous. I do not like it. "I have to talk to my friends too," she continued, pointing back until I saw my friends standing on the porch waving at me.

Her friends must be fascinated by me.

"We can go now," Daisy said. "Let's go ... .We need to go somewhere," I said, motioning for her to enter.

After Daisy entered the car, I entered and closed the door again and asked Sam to take us to a mall. I think it's a great place to find eyeglasses and clothes sellers.

"I have to take these books to Italy too... I need them," Daisy said, making me glance at her immediately.

"Are you kidding me? We are honeymooning with these thick books?" I asked in astonishment, picking up one of the books and opening it.

"I guess it's not a problem….didn't you say I can focus on studying, then you'll look for entertainment? So, don't mind this. I can't complete my assignments without these books..."

"Okay, up to you!" I said before she finished her sentence. I immediately returned the book to her. "Now let's fix your appearance!"

"Ha?" She was surprised and looked at me like staring at a fierce professor.

"Yes!" I nodded firmly. "We have to fix your appearance because we will be meeting my relatives again. We still have time because we will leave at night."

"Huh..." she exhaled. "Even though there's nothing wrong with my appearance... So far no one has ever complained about it."

"But now that you're my wife, you have to look different. You have to look good to be beside me ..," I said while looking at her seriously, but instead, she turned her face away. "You have to look elegant... Classy, more mature..."

"I am me ..."

I immediately showed my cellphone which still showed Gisella's photo.

"Look... You have to be like her," I said.

Daisy glanced at my phone. "It's not that different from Irina," she said.

"Yeah ... Dress like that so you match side by side with me," I said casually, but she immediately pouted.

"Do whatever you want with me," said Daisy.

"Yeah, because you're my slave," I said.

"Yesterday you said wife, but now you say, slave..."

"You will play both," I said as I put my phone in my jacket pocket again. "You are mine ... .And I have the right to treat you however I want."

"You're crazy!"

I just sneered. "And this crazy is your husband..."

"I'm not surprised why Irina ran away. Maybe she already imagined that living with you would be a nightmare for her!" she said curtly. I chose silence, lazy to talk when it's about Irina. Sometimes she still shadows me, making me upset and disappointed. she must be having fun with her boyfriend, while I have to learn to accept her innocent sister. Oh really? Should I learn to accept it? I don't think I can... After what Irina did to me, she doesn't deserve my happiness, my love... It's not worth it at all. Maybe I'll make it fly high, then I'll let it fall and hurt!

___

Sam stopped my car in front of a mall, I immediately got off and invited Daisy to enter the best mall in this city. I invited her to enter a boutique specializing in women's clothing, and of course, we were greeted there by Anya, the owner of the boutique who is my best friend.

"Richard, I'm so sorry for not being able to attend your wedding yesterday," she said, approaching me with a sad look. She is beautiful and sexy, but I don't like her hairstyle which is very straight and looks thin.

"This is your wife?" She turned to look at Daisy who was standing beside me. "She... She looks a bit like Irina."

"Uh, she's her sister," I said, a bit nervous. "Maybe this is a bit strange for you... But I don't want a lot of questions," I said again.

"Uh, okay." Ana smiled sweetly. "I won't ask too many questions. She's beautiful….but it would be prettier if she wore a dress from here. You must have brought her here to try on the dress in my collection, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah... Please pick some elegant and classy dress for her."

"Sure... I'll choose the best one."

I nodded, then Anya immediately left, heading to the rows of mannequins wearing dresses. My gaze turned to Daisy who was silent as if she had no desire to choose a dress.

"After this, let's go to the optical shop," I said, then walked towards the white couch. "You should change your glasses too," I said again.

I sat relaxed and played with my cellphone by looking at the posts of people I follow on social media. But that wasn't proper entertainment for me because I only got more annoyed. .too many posts about marriages that went smoothly, even though I found news about my wedding yesterday.

_Richard Marx Willis should have married Irina Bartman but instead married Daisy Bartman. The wedding of a rich and handsome businessman was quite a stir because the invitation was written that he would marry Irina but in reality, he married Daisy, who incidentally was Irina's sister. This strangeness was the question of many people, but their families did not want to give information. It is suspected that Irina left before the wedding so Daisy had to take her place. this allegation is strongly supported because Irina was seen entering the airport with another man right before the marriage began--

My hands clenched, gripping the phone so tightly as if I wanted to crush it. My breath feels tight, emotions ... the news made me feel ashamed, humiliated... Irina has made me look like a man without dignity, like a poor man abandoned by his bride!

'I will not let her calm down. she will receive feedback from me,' I said to myself, then I turned off my cell phone and put it back in my jacket pocket.

"Richard... doesn't she look beautiful?"

My eyes shifted to Anya who had just come out of the dressing room, with Daisy who already looked very different. I swallowed my saliva, stunned to see her very elegant, wearing a white knee-length dress that was quite tight and made her look slim.

"Wow ..." My lips said spontaneously, I can't deny that Daisy looks more attractive now. .it's just that she keeps her head down and looks uncomfortable, that's a minus point for her!

"I've prepared 10 more dresses. We can ask her to try them one by one if you wait patiently," said Anya with a friendly smile.

"Uh..." I immediately stood up and approached Daisy. "That's not necessary. Please pack the 10 dresses now. We don't have much time."

"Okay then, wait a moment!"

Anya rushed to ask her employees to pack the ten dresses. My attention was diverted to Daisy who was looking around, occasionally fixing her slightly tangled hair. Hmm, I think her hair also needs fixing but we don't have much time.

___

After finishing the problem with new clothes for her, I turned to ask Daisy to go to the optical shop. Luckily there also provide contact lenses, and I bought several types for her. I also chose pretty elegant and classy glasses for her, so she doesn't look innocent or nerdy.

"I'm tired," she said.

"After this, we go to my parents' house..my relatives will tire you even more," I said casually, fastening my seatbelt on my body.

"What do you mean they will make me tired?"

"Of course, they will ask you to cook, sweep and do all kinds of household activities," I said with a faint smile, then glanced at Daisy who immediately fell silent with her mouth slightly open. oh, her lips are very attractive, makes me want to kiss her but I have to be able to hold back.

Daisy turned to me. "Why should I be like that? I mean... Do they want me to do the housework after marrying you? Aren't you used to using maid services?"

"Even though we will use the services of a maid, you should still be able to do all the housework," I said looking straight ahead and crossing my legs. "You're not Irina anyway so I don't need to treat you special."

"OK….I don't know why I have to do this when it's Irina's fault," said Daisy, sounding disappointed that I glanced at her but she immediately looked away. "As I said before, do whatever you want... I can't fight you," she continued...

I paused, feeling challenged by her words. She said she was ready to do whatever I wanted. All right, maybe I'll come up with a bad idea for her!

Drett ... Drett...

I took my cell phone which was ringing, I saw there was an incoming call from my mother.

"Hello, Mom?"

"Richard, are you and Daisy going to be here before leaving for Italy?" my mum asked from the phone, I immediately imagined her youthful and beautiful face.

"Yeah, we'll be there in a bit," I said.

"Okay... Mommy has prepared a special meal for her."

"Is it true?"

"Yeah... Of course. Mommy prepared something special because she is your wife," my mum said, making me immediately silent in astonishment. It turned out that my mum liked Daisy, in contrast to my dad who supported me if I wanted to divorce her.

"Mommy thinks she is much better than Irina," my mum said again, I snapped out of my reverie.

"Ughh ... maybe," I said, glancing at Daisy who was staring out the window. "We can talk about that later, mom ... We'll be there in a minute."

"Okay ... I'm waiting."

I hung up the phone, then let out a rough breath. I suddenly felt confused, unable to focus on what was on my mind. I swiped my phone screen aimlessly, I even realized that I didn't care about other things just because of Daisy now. damn. That girl has distracted me, my mum... Then what next? Is it possible that I could love her?

"no... That can't happen!" I said spontaneously.

"What?" she asked.

"It is nothing."I shook my head, and he ignored me again by turning her gaze to her book. I don't know why I feel irritated... I don't want anyone to ignore me, especially since I have power here!
