Vasilis's POV:
"So it is agreed upon then, that we must seek her out?" Charlotte asked, a weary look in her gray eyes.
Roman nodded gravely. "I'm afraid we must, if we seek the truth."
My stomach tightened into a knot that refused to ease up.
"Let us hope all our assumptions are wrong. Let us hope the truth will set our minds at ease." Principal Fernsby said, her words at attempt at consolation that could not work.
We could not be consoled. Or at least, I could not be consoled. Not until I knew with certainty that Jade was not the one the prophecy speaks of.
Someone snorted derisively at Principal Fernsby's attempt at consolation and I looked up to see Charlotte rolling her eyes.
"No offense, mother, but I care not whether our assumptions are wrong or not. In fact, I wish they would be true so I could kill her myself." Charlotte sneered, and Principal Fernsby let out a tired sigh.
